One, Two, The End! Dudley Combo Thread **Check first post before posting!**

I forgot the vid but i saw a japanese player doinf Twd+hp meaty than comboing cr jab into lp mgb. sweet meterless combo

combo fierce punch to fierce punch also works and is pretty fun to see the health go down by pressing that button twice LOL

Counter-hit st.hk -> EX Short Swing Blow xx EX Focus Cancel xx Forward Dash -> Full Corkscrew Cross

C.Hp is +4 on regular hit. lol

Otherwise known as “OMG WTF whar did meh health go!!!”

two part question here.

  1. Here is a combo: f+mk > s lp xx s mp (target combo)> cr lp > s hk xx ex mgb whatever finisher

I’m pretty certain kidney blow > s lp and s mp > cr lp are links, does anyone know how many frame links they are?

  1. For future reference, how can i analyze frame data to figure that information out on my own? i mean how on earth did u guys figure out what moves link to what and how many frames u have to link those?

Look at frame advantage on hit. If frame advantage on hit of the first move >= startup frames of the next move then it links (unless you get pushed back too far to hit). For example f.mk is +5 on hit and s.hk has 4 frames startup so it links with 1 additional frame of leeway. f.mk -> cr.mp is a 1 frame link because cr.mp has 5 frames startup.

according to this s mp is +6 on hit and cr lp has + 3 startup. I dont understand why this link seems much harder than a four frame link though…

I assume you’re referring to the combo you posted above? mp and the lp>mp chain combo have different block/hit frames. lp>mp is +1/+4

I am a pad user who needs some tips about the c.lp>s.hk combo !

  1. is it any drawback using the 3K button instead of the HK one ? If bad timed, it results by following c.lp with s.lk but is it the only difference ?

  2. I don’t have any issues with c.lk>c.lp but c.lp>s.hk is more difficult for me. I read that you can plink the s.hk but with a pad… I found it easier not to ! Am I wrong ?

Have you any advice to help me making this combo more consistent ?

  1. You are risking using EX moves without meaning it. Other issues may occur when playing as some other characters.

  2. I actually really don’t see a reason for using 3K with Dudley other than if you absolutely need it for U1. For EX moves, he only has two using kick that are situational. I think the best option is to learn the timing for s.hk through audio/visual cues.

Is there a shortcut for QCFx2? I’m having a hard time landing Corkscrew after a Uppercut xx FADC.

A few days ago I found that you can do lp uppercut and then do a lp MGB and it combos. It works on every character, midscreen and corner, even if you hit the lp uppercut from full distance. Also, double upper doesnt work on every character.

lp uppercut xx hp uppercut = 180 damage
lp uppercut xx lp MGB (midscreen) = 160 damage
lp uppercut xx lp MGB (corner) = 210 damage

It does less damage in midscreen, but it always lands, so its a pretty useful thing to know. It works only with lp uppercut, of course.

Also, what El_Mono posted, you can also do f.hp xx Ultra 1 (Rolling Thunder)

And after an ex MGB you can do a ducking strike and then land a hp uppercut. This works against everyone in the corner, but also works midscreen, but against characters with big hitboxes. Although I still don’t understand why it works with Dudley, he isn’t that big.

Good catch i should’ve realized that. Maybe its the timing of the combo all together that i dont get. Shrug. IDK weird overall timing for that maybe i should just stick to target combos and cr lp x 2 hk and cr lk xx cr mk xx lk ducking throw lol.

Look through the thread dude, I posted a comprehensive post about that months ago. Also, if you got that to work on Ibuki in the corner or anywhere kudos to you, since that did not work no matter how many times I tried it

Yes. It works on Ibuki too, I just tried it. Sorry i didnt read pages before, i was lazy.

Let’s link!!

Hi Everybody !!

I am new in Shoryuken Forum but I read your comments since a long time to develop a decent Dudley in SSFIV !!
First of all, thank you to share your knowledge about the gentleman boxer !!
Your information helped me a lot to learn how to make links and not only target combos. In order to try to compile the best information to make a strong Dudley, what are for you the best and the most useful link combo ?

I try to input fwd+MK—>st.lp–>st.lp–>st.HK.

Also, do you know if there is a trick to link cr.HP–>st.HK ? Do I need to plink it ?

Keep it classy !!

j.HP > f.MK > s.MP > s.HP xx Super 568 dmg
lvl3.FA > f.MK > s.MP > s.HP xx Super 588 dmg (guesstimate, ill get the real data soon)

Take off the super for a meterless combo
j.HP > f.MK > s.MP > s.HP 359 dmg 520 stun
lvl3.FA > f.MK > s.MP > s.HP 340 dmg 470 stun

Pretty beefy. I got super sidetracked when I was working on the data, mess around with it and tell me if you find something. I’m gonna update this post later with more stun damage and options if i can think of anything.

Thanks a lot luckybear for your advice !! I’ll try soon these combos. I was thinking that we may be need to start a list gathering all combos (character specific if it’s the case), with stun values etc.??

You must be a Dudley user from the III series to be confident against so-easy-to-use shotos or turtles ??

Anyone have any advice for getting down the cr.rh x2 after an ex mgb? I try plinking it but only get it about 1/20 or so times
