One random fact about yourself pertaining to Fighting games

I mean I still dust it off occasionally, just not like I used to, it’s been sitting in a box for awhile now. My ps2 has some disc reading issues so it’s sort of a pain to hook it up and see if it even works. I don’t think I could ever bring myself to selling it. I’d probably play it more if I had the xbox version since I have a 360, maybe I should swap with someone.

I spent an entire summer hustling people for 5-10 dollar matches of samsho 2 and SF2CE. It paid for my first apartment.
I’ll shit if any one local reads this and remembers that. (Sorry!)

Kano’s uncle owned the baseball card shop we hung out in after highschool was out. The original Liu Kang worked weekends there, too.
We regularly playtested for Midways early revisions of mk1, nba jam, and later mk2.
They’d put test revisions there weekly for feedback, quite a few months before they were released country-wide.
Nothing much else about that story, other than the Johnny Cage 3 head-punch fatality glitch was discovered there, reported, and it was fixed two weeks after.

Also, I play like block was never invented sometimes.

-I randomly choke at tourneys, even with a huge lead

-Absolutely cannot play Shotos (minus Akuma in CVS2)

I’ve been using a wireless connection for 3 years and thought it was cool.

Now with so many fighters comin out I’ve switched to wierd. Gotta step up my game.

Street Fighter and Tekken are my main games. Everything else is casual.

DOA sucks! Period.

I cannot play on 2P side for the life of me.

I’m just now understandin negative edge, I didnt even know it was a name for that until now.

My mind cant seem to grasp tick throw concepts.Like, I’m doin it but not understanding it.

I dont have SF4 yet,is this blasphemy?

I can’t play on the left (1p) side hardly at all with a stick.

I’m really good at games I hate.
glares at Smash

If I don’t know exactly what I’m doing, I rarely take much enjoyment from a win, or a close game.

Random Fact:

I get intense about video games… Basically intense enough that I could step right into the TV/Monitor and start playing it like it was serious business.

That’s gotta suck.

On my part, the characters I least like are the ones I’m most good at. (With the exception of Baiken in GGAC)

Why am I good with that faggot Ash Crimson dammit?!?

EDIT: I also get nervous during online/tourney play.

Fighting games, some of the most competitive games out there are, ironically, the games I usually get the least frusterated/worked up over, no matter how poorly I do. This is somewhat surprising, since I can get into a frothing rage over other kinds of games.

I still have not beat one level 4 normal trial on sfiv.

Let me also add:
I crumble under pressure
I turn to shit when people talk shit
I will beast you in casuals, then get beasted by you at tourney (then again, you guys don’t bring your A game to casuals, unless your practicing for tourneys)
I was never able to do upper motions while I was on the 1p’s side

Really? You always struck me as quite confident actually

Well there are two types of shit talks: you and your buddies bullshittin’; or, bitch ass nobody homie starting shit for reasons god knows why. Anyone will be bothered by the later type.

-For quite some time, I thought I was pretty good at 2D fighting games. GGPO then tought me how to at least play solid.

-I love fast and comboheavy characters, eventhough my execution is too bad to play them well

-I love Grapplers, I WILL play Tager when BB comes out for sure

^
-It seems sometimes I love the polar opposites

-Li Xiangfei from RB2 is the greatest fighting char ever in my book. Female, Chinese martial arts, strong shoulder-blow move, a great looking grab super and a visually very nice three hit powerblow super (that also only drains you bar on hitconfirm)

-I will gladly play a DoA game just to play Gen Fu

Yeah that is a fair point, luckily never experienced it though, but I can imagine it would be pretty off-putting.

In other news: I actually really really like SvC Chaos, I don’t care what anyone says.

my hands get sweaty when i nervous, and when i do a super in ie: Cable AHVB and proceed to smash the buttons with the synchronized movement of my left hand moving the joystick on several directions…then my left hands slips and hits the player on my left.

I’m absolutely horrible at fighting games, yet I continue to play and enjoy them even though none of my associates do.
