Nah Whitebeardâs death was way more violent. And its so satisfying to see Orochi get done like that. No going out in a blaze of glory for your friends like Oden. Or dying in battle with weapon in hand like Whitebeard. Nope just backstabbed, got his head chopped effortlessly, and disposed of like the glorified pawn he was.
Now how in the hell are they suppose to take down both Kaidou and Big Mom? Whitebeardâs rag tag remnants arenât enough to even things.
Heâs not deadâŚyaâll know he canât be, especially when you consider the Devil Fruit ability.
Um I donât see how his snake fruit would allow him to survive that.
Maybe a skin shedding move, leave a âdeadâ husk behind.
Itâs a comic so who knows, but that wasnât a lot of blood for a beheading.
We know little about what the devil fruit does, plus knowing Oda (and his style of writing) it seemed too easy.
looking at the myth itself can give some idea of what could happen. The simpler explanation is it robs Kinâemon (or the red scabbards) of avenging Oden.

Yeah maybe he had 8 heads but 1 heart so if you really wanna kill him you need to take that out. That was probably a âknow your place, bitchâ move from Kaido
Thereâs no way I couldâve predicted this. 
I also agree that Orochi is likely alive due to his hydra-like DF, but considering this is One Piece, seeing Orochi get beheaded with blood and everything was quite unexpected.
I like how Oda has now raised the stakes. Wano was already in dire straits but now Kaido would turn it into a hell on earth basically. Luffy and co. will have to defeat Kaido because thereâs no way dissuade a brute like himâŚ
âŚand I donât even know what could be done about Big Mom. JeebusâŚ
Methinks Yamato could be the lovechild of Kaido and Black Maria. Iâm really curious about her involvement with the Beast Pirates since she seems generally good-natured and maternal.
