Ah, but with this you see the literal world of One Piece. I’ve never been sick of how Oda paints each of the new areas, its inhabitants, and how he develops everyone within said arcs. Fairy Tail does the same thing and it’s nowhere as effective because I’ve never really become fond of any them. OP gives you some real emotional investment regardless of which character you care for, and it always pays off.
And sure, it’s not without its faults, but really now it’s better to enjoy the journey then it is to await the final destination.
Wow dude calm down there’s tons and tons of other chapters before this arc finishes. This is obviously just an intro.
The thing is, while we do have Hodi and his New Fishman Pirates as a thread, we still also have the question of Van Der Decken and the Flying Dutchman. The whole prophecy/straw hat thing does seem to indicate that he’ll play a larger role in things to come in this arc.

I’m sure Oda is going to have a detailed explanation of the origin of those pills and why/how they are manufactured. He usually covers his bases in some form.

So I’m pretty sure Fisher Tiger didn’t go out the way folks think. Its a cover up/mis-interpretation that Luffy & co will uncover - and in the process help improve relations.
And I’m not impressed with Hodi…if Luffy doesn’t destroy him, I’d be disappointed. The last thing I want is for after ‘two years of training’ - Luffy to have a hard time against the first ‘threat’.

I bet that Luffy would kill Hodi in a straight up fight. I’m gonna assume that the only thing that will make this fight even relatively close is the fact that they’re underwater. There has to be some kind of 3rd party interference to make this fight competitive.

Or it could end up like the G8 filler arc in the anime where they don’t directly fight the main antagonist. It would be an interesting change of pace.
Heh. Interesting how they’re doing a doping angle for the new baddies. It’s probably going to lead to the inevitable:
Luffy and Hodi have a fight, Luffy kicks his ass, so Hodi resorts to downing like…500 of those pills, turning him into a seemingly unstoppable monster. He either ODs as a result, or Luffy ends him in one swift blow after he dopes himself up.
Same deal with the other fights, only the lackeys doping up will give folks like Zoro and Usopp a run for their money before they take them down.

i sometimes feel like ace got killed for no reason. Like he seemed to have so much untapped potential as a character, but in the end he seemed hella random. Random in how he appeared and random in his interactions with other characters. i dont feel like he fully impacted everyone like he could have and felt a bit forced. anyone else feel this way?

long ago i started reading op, didnt like it very much so i quit. now i wanna do some quick skipping through the battles and im wondering if anybody has a link where all the cooler lesser shown characters are shown, as in which chapters. im talking bout characters like luffy’s dad, shanks, whitebeard, pirate king and the likes. if somebody would know a link or so to another site that has this kind of info it would be very helpfull thanx.
also i asked my lil bro for a quick reup on the sage and tiers and such. i used to think aikanu was boss, but it seems hes like upper tier but there are way stronger peers out there. now in quick what i got from my lil bro (if i didnt forget).
the strongest character in the manga right now is luffys dad. i think the pirate king must have been as strong as him when he was healthy.
after him theres guys like whitebeard and shanks, and luffys granddad seems to be as strong or almost as strong as them? there are between the 2 and 4 people in the marines stronger than aikanu iirc. now im not sure but i think he also told me that theres 1 very strong guy in the marines (not sure) who was even stronger than luffys granddad. rayleigh is like almost as strong as the likes of whiteb & shanks.
luffy shiould be pretty close to the likes of whiteb and shanks by now (right?). now what id like to know, are the tiers i made somewhat correct? and are there more people i dont know of that are as strong as luffy or stronger? and where they would belong in these upper tiers? thanx in advance. (i hope we got people here smarter than those 12 yo mangaforums posters). so hopefully no arguments and honest answers. (no bias).
also the way my lil bro said it, it sounded like zoro and sanji are te 2 strongest straws next/after luffy. and here i was thinking afro bones was mad strong, lol.
