Nah, you don’t skip shit.
You read from start to finish, you don’t cliff note One Piece.

depends on the reader. ive already read it till those first group of people that can use haiku or whatever. and as far as i remember its always the same boring kick our ass and well kick it back after we get serious, unless their really stronger, in which case theyll do it after training. most of the fights take way too long in op, imo. at least its not as bad as the anime. it feels like its one giant spirit bomb that takes a shitload of time. and after most of the crappy fights theres actually something like an interresting story with some decent to good characters in it. just too bad most of the arcs all feel alike. its no naruto (best shonen atm), but it shits all over bleach. i wish hxh would return.
nah my man chibi is correct…if their is one series you cant skip arcs on its one piece. literally everything is connected…this mutherfucker still makes these insane references to random ass characters you saw walking in the background in chapter 43. his attention to detail is insannnne.
The anime fails for not having half-face whitebeard.
:u: I guess it was to graphic to show it, since I think OP is still targeted towards kids under 18.
Which is funny because you see people puking up blood and getting holes in their torsos.
Exactly.
So wtf Oda ?
lol why we blaming oda? he aignt directing episodes…this is a directors fault.
snicker :bluu:
Man if I could find orchestra piece that plays right before Whitebeard is gonna hit Akainu or the one right when hes taking on the navy (17:25:), would be so sick for the amv.
Sw do you want me to send a buster call to their main studio.
if you do, oda will just animate the show himself and earn 5324091325423291kjl304 beli a year.
I guess I understand why they couldn’t have Akainu pull off the his Hell Hound upper to take off half Whitebeard face in full animated glory as it would have been too graphic and hard to make how a quarter of a face can be gone and brother still talking, but the Hell Hound attack they animated was weak sauce. Another hole in the chest, Whitebeard’s corpse is going to either look like a domino or a pokka-dot when all is said and done.
That being said, they did properly animate Whitebeard pushing Akainu’s shit in deep. Now let’s see how they handle Blackbeard.
My man you beat me to it, I was right about to start rocking Akainu’s Oh shit face.
Edit: @MC187
Also the only arc I recommend glossing over is Skypiea, everything thing else, you have to experience. Luffy’s dad reveal won’t mean shit, if you haven’t read or seen the Logue Town arc. Oda does way too many call backs to previous stuff for you to get the full experience skipping. Although, Skypiea is the most self contained Saga, we still get shout outs to it as well afterward.
But if you are seriously on the skip/gloss/summary tip, One Piece Wikia.
Are we really complaining that Whitebeard isn’t losing face?
…
:looney:
Yes. That shit was awesome and made what came next even better.
Fail
ok right now im at the nr3 and nr zero dudes. i think crocodile gets shown here later on. ive finished 14 volunes yesterday, planning to catchg up to where the manga is nbow in a week or less. but i have to agbree on something, as drawn out as battles get in this manga, its still way better than the shit thats cvalled anime. if that razor nosed guy from earlier cvolumes took 3 volumes to beat, i can only imagine how ridiculously long it was in the anime. in fact ive seen that animated, zand i remember it sucked donkey balls.
so in my quick tiers list, was i somewhat correct? shanks, white beard and prehaps even mihawk are in the same tier of strength, meaning stronger than aikanu and the likes. also sengoku, is that the strongest marine guy? probably in the same tier as shanks and the likes.
now ace was the pirate kings son from what i got, and the pirate king was the strongest? now i know that dragon lived around the same era, and it seems that dragon was inm the same tier as pk, who knows maybe even stronger. am i getting this all right or what?
also funny i gave up on op and one of the reason was because of the shitty art, but even good art can have shitty mangas (bleach, the one i should have given up on).
finally i dont see a lot of peopletalking about it, but that other shonen gamaren is pretty fucking dope. my lil bro talked me into it (both of my twinb brothers are really into animes and mangas, they got that from me back in the 80’s and 90’s, but i generally cant stand anime and manga nowadays), and im actually glad they did. the choreography is one of the best in any manga ive seen and the manga itself is really solid. it has a kiddy friendly artstyle, then you see people getting aliced appart. who would have expected. lol.
Whitebeard losing nearly half his face and having him still standing was a testament to his bad-assery and ‘bowse’ credentials… they should have had it in the anime…
I forget when exactly it happened, but did the anime just skimp out on the supernova parts or does it not occur yet?
Yeah Shanks and Whitebeard (and presumably the other Four Emperors) are on another level of strength. Mihawk might or at least should be is as well, but we’ve never seen him go out against one, so it is hard to tell if he is on that same level.
Don’t count out Akainu, just yet, dude went toe to toe with weakened but insanely strong Whitebeard and still had enough in him to cause havoc until Shanks showed up. And really other then leading the Revolutionaries, no one knows jack about how strong Luffy’s pa is.
Also overall the manga is better, but I had to go back and look at a few of the fights animated and a few of them do get some nicer touches in animated form. Some filler attacks (like Akainu getting up and attacking Whitebeard after the inital donkey punch in the last episode before the Hell Hound attack) but also some other stuff that adds a bit to the fight (Garp visibly relaxing right before letting Luffy punch him). Overall it is a good show the anime but yeah it don’t compare to the manga, especially since they censor it more.
All these questions about specific parts of the OP story shows exactly why it’s meant to be read from start to finish. Way woo many arcs make references to previous arcs. So if you try to skip around all of these subtle hints/call backs/foreshadowing will blow right over you.
