Jesus can’t use either Luffy’s or Doffy’s fruit well. He doesn’t have the creativity of Luffy to really utilize the fruit. Hell DC and Marvel comics have their own elastic men and none of them have ever shown the creativity that Luffy has with his powers. He’s been shown to be the type where its all brawn and no brains. He’d be better suited to just getting one of the smile Zoan fruits instead. Though no doubt a gomu gomu no bazzoka from someone of his size, strength and haki would be devasating. He could never think of the multiple gears or even half of the techniques that Luffy has thought up.
For the same reason I don’t think he’d do well taking Doffy’s fruit. Self suturing his internal organs from an attack like Law gave him?
Though if there were going to be either of them that loses their powers it would be Doffy as plot wise it’ll never happen to Luffy (outside of maybe some final arc segment like in Full Metal Alchemist).
Been saying this from the beginning.
I have a feeling the knife Burgess wielded had a seastone blade. Whatever that cloth is, it or whatever it has in it (artificial DFs mayhaps?) can probably trap devils housed in the fruit.
Haki being a finite resource also explains why dudes aren’t blasting Conqueror’s Haki on fodder every 5 seconds, it probably takes a toll if overused. Which makes Shanks’ full continuous aura he showed on Whitebeard’s ship all the more impressive.
When Doflamingo descended on the town it reminded me of Tetsuo descending to where Akira laid on the manga. What a monster, without Luffy’s friendship power he’d be toast. Luffy was still outmatched from the get-go, which is testament to Doflamingo’s power.
I can’t see Luffy facing Kaido aka Mr. “I make Doflamingo pee his pants” next arc. He still has a long way to go.
This fight is what Luffy needed. He needs to refine his techniques and better use them in battle. He has the ability to beat the top tiers just not the execution to do it. Its like that guy that knows how to play sentinel and do all the unfly and unblockable setups, but he still isn’t landing hits on Soomighty or Potter.
Once luffy goes back to the drawing board he will most certainly be able to beat an admiral. Rayleigh said that he would give luffy the tools to beat the people that destroyed him pre timeskip. Now he has the tools, he just needs to learn how to use them.
Also Sanji is most likely missing a leg right now.

Overall, this chapter was fantastic!
It’s down to the wire (or thread) now folks!
That effect of Zoro imbuing busoshoku haki into his sword looks really cool. I can’t wait to see how that looks animated. It’s also insane how strong Doflamingo’s birdcage strings are that not even haki’d Zoro can cut through it.
Fujitora is going to be able to make a powerful statement against the Shichibukai system once this is over, since he has refused to clean up the mess that Doflamingo- and by extension, the World Government has inflicted upon the people of Dressrosa.
I wonder how the time discrepancy will be resolved? I guess Zoro and the little guys are going to make some headway.
Ending will finally be here in just 240 more chapters.
