Still haven’t seen Zoro’s plan to buy them more time and Doffy like Po Pimpus has stated is on some determined to fuck everyone over shit to go out that easy even to suped up fan favorite move.
That being said Burgess is still on the prowl as is Sabo… Oda showed in the big Marineford saga a series of times where Luffy wasn’t able to punch his way to success, this maybe another one of those times and someone else will deal Doflamingo the last blow.

I don’t think awakenings will all function the same way, esp. with the variety within the Paramecia class. Doffy’s power already projects string so his awakening only enhances this further, Luffy’s awakening might lead to something else entirely, maybe gaining extra mass and/or ejecting it in the form of rubber projectiles or constructs.
With this revelation it would be really cool to see what Dragon can do in the near future.

I got a feeling he’s gonna pull some shit at the last minute. He’s one of those “If I lose, all you MFs going to burn with me,” types.
It’s pretty much impossible to imagine Doflamingo, a Color of the Conqueror user, permanently falling in this arc generic main villain style. His willpower might be nearly on par with Luffy’s and he’s durable and versatile as hell. He might be KO’d but it will be a much shorter duration than what we’ve witnessed before.
He’s also infinitely ruthless and spiteful, as long as he draws breath he will try something.
Ok, I got around to reading the whole chapter yesterday and here are my thoughts:
While I do find the ongoing fight between Doflamingo and Luffy super enjoyable with all the new techniques that were shown (especially those Offwhite and Lion/Leo Bazooka techniques), it did felt a little short to me. As for the part with Riku making another speech to all the civilians, i didn’t really care for it, nor did i care for the scene with Franky and the dwarfs. Also, I wasn’t surprised about Burgess being the person that Koala was talking to Sabo about long ago, nor was I surprised about Haki having a limitation since it’s pretty obvious with Haki being the “Ki” of the One Piece world and such so that was a given.
However, what really got my attention in this chapter was the info about the devil fruits’ awakened states, which i though only applied to the zoan fruit users back in Impel down. The existence of awakened Paramecia and awakened Logia fruits had me very intrigued since that definitely does open up a lot of possibilities. Hmm, I wonder what Robin’s Hana Hana fruit’s awakened abilities would be like…or…maybe if its possible that she already had awakened her fruit and we didn’t even noticed it until now. I mean it does make a lot of sense if you think about it. It would definitely explain a few things about her post-TS abilities, ESPECIALLY how she was able to create those flapping hands to execute her Moth Orchid technique, which most of us assumed that she sprouted them out of the air or sprouted them out of the ground and have them “release/detach” themselves off the ground when in actuality, even though it’s still somewhat like the latter, she turned the surrounding flowers into hands and have them flap above ground and into the air like butterflies. Like i said, it’s only a possibility. As for why Robin didn’t bother to tell Luffy about this (assuming if it really was the case), it probably may have something to do with a potential requirement, something that would not sit well with Luffy at all as it might go against his principles. Anyway, this is all theory at the moment.
So yeah, that’s all I have to say on the chapter for now. Overall, this chapter was good but not as good as the previous chapter. Still, I am looking forward to the next chapter since a part of me does feel that Doflamingo is not down and out juuuuust yet.

Luffy and Law started fighting Doflo in chapter 759. It’s been literally more than half a year since Luffy got in his first good punch in Doflo’s gut.
Yeah, there was that big flashback and the other fights, but think about it. HALF A FLIPPIN’ YEAR.
The past couple of chapters aren’t THE fight. They’re just the END of the fight. Final round. If anything, I’d want it to be shorter
They need to lengthen chapters because that’s just nuts
I mean short as in not enough time to display the capabilities of Gear 4 and such. That’s the part that i felt was short.

In terms of direct Doflamingo vs Luffy action though, it really doesn’t feel like there’s has been that much, even if it’s taken 6 months to show it.

As much as I try, I can’t remember a manga/anime that has such an intricate but still flexible rule-set for powers before One Piece.
Oda comin out and saying he wants to continue this manga for another 10 years.

The journey has been just as rewarding as the expected destination. I’d rather have a quality series than a rushed story with the plot pace of runny diarrhea. With that said…
I just hope he can finish the series before the inevitable WWIII/ Yellowstone super-volcano/ giant asteroid. That way I can die a happy man.
completely different. yes the characters created remain but the stories are completely different. its like comparing American soap opera daytime shows and Mexican novelas.
Mexican novelas have a beginning, middle, and end. there’s an inevitable and expected conclusion. which is why Mexican novelas>American soaps…times a thousand.
and that’s why mangas are sooooo good while American comic books are shit. not saying western comic book characters and its concepts are shit. no. but their neverending storylines and failure to commit character resolution is shit.
the longer a writer extends a story…the more risk there is that some unfortunate mishap can negate a resolution to that storyline.
for example, when saint seiya got cancelled without ending the hades arc…when many years later the anime started up again the actor that played a gold saint died…and it was weird to hear a different voice. or when that black fortuneteller from the matrix died and they had to hire another actress to play that part. anyway, you guys know when time passes shit can happen that throws a monkey wrench into the work.
nothing would be funnier than Oda getting into car crash, dies, and someone else being asked to finish up the story and ALL of the controversy that would erupt about shit post mortem not being canon, therefore trash.
