My suspicions has been that Oda didnât want to outshine Mayobeard as the highlight of that arc. I still think it wouldâve been appropriate if Garp got to throw a few haymakers at Akainu after killing Ace. Remember how Sengoku held him down so that he wouldnât murder him. Garp probably could have fought and put decent ass whooping on whitebeard and they coulda came to an understanding and let ace go.There is probably a handful if people in this world who coulda negotiated or reached and understanding with Sengoku and it was either Whitebeard ,Shanks or Garp that day.
Garp seriously could be the protagonist of his own spinoff based on his past dude is extremely interesting character because he is like goku with an actual job and a true goal .All garp wanted to do is have a good fight serve out justice and duck getting a promotion seems like a likable character to me
