Vergo is no joke. I wonder if strong Haki can prevent the effects of the Room, which makes sense why Law went for his heart instead of Shambling Vergo directly.
Not to mention, Vergo is technically spoken for in terms of match ups by Smoker, Sanji’s brief scuffle with him was a surprise, but given Vergo has shown himself to pretty much be the most badass of the villains shown this arc, this maybe Smoker’s only shot to show that he can handle a haki user and not directly fight Luffy.
That chick Monet appears cold as fuck, but my money is Nami or Usopp will wind up handling her, maybe both.
That’s probably what it is. Sufficient Busoshoku Haki seems to counteract all Devil Fruit powers, since Kizaru’s lightspeed kick was countered by Rayleigh back in the day.

Even more insane, he’s Doflamingo’s UNDERLING! This should be a testament to how broken this dude is. From the looks of things, he could’ve been Yonkou material if he wanted to, but Shichibukai status gives him business clout, like the World Government equivalent of Diplomatic Immunity.
I’m trying to figure out if Smoker is playing the short con or the long con to gain an upper hand. He knows exactly the kind of man he’s dealing with.

So I’ve been re-reading the SH ‘split’ thru Marineford & SH reunion (just got to the unveiling of ‘Mansopp’). After the war there were a few things I noticed
- Moria wasn’t necessarily ‘killed’…it sounds as though he disappeared in combat with flamingo…
- They were down 3 schubaki (eff a spelling) - with Boa possibly being jettisonned…did they ever unveil who all the new Schubaki were? Law is one, but what about the other 2 positions (they lost Jimbei, Moria, and Blackbeard).
- Was Blackbeard and crew ever officially put on Yonkou level post time skip?

- Buggy got an invitation letter, but no confirmation. 3rd unknown.
- I’m fairly sure they confirmed Teach as new Yonkou.
DoFla said Moria vanished when he was about to kill him. It is likely that invisible-man-Absolom touched him and vanished him at the the last moment and saved his life.
So could Moria and Jimbei become possible SH before the series is over? Jimbei seems logical…but for some reason - after doing the reading recently it just dripped with Moria as an unlikely alliance that becomes permanent.

Bamboo toughness + boushoku (is that how you say it) haki + tekkai makes for one tough mofo.
If I remember correctly, bamboo resin is very sticky. Explains why he gets ish stuck on his face all the time.
Lastly, his full title is Kichiku no Vergo, which means “Demon Bamboo”. So yeah.
Damn, I didn’t know that about Vergo, though it makes sense.
