One Piece Thread: Gear 2nd!

Whoa… Akoiji able to freeze people’s organs! Now THAT would be a cool little skill to have.

That actually makes a lot of sense if he leveled up at all after fighting Akainu. Iceman can do shit like that in Marvel.

This comic is too good

Mone is such a flirt <3

(Haha. Caesar looked pretty livid on page 12.)

Nice to see that Caesar is smarter than he seemed for throwing himself into the fray between the igniting-castanet and the apparently delayed effect of sleeping gas (or just some invisible, odorless gas while Luffy was in his face again).

Something tells me next chapter is going to have Tashigi-Smoker trying to fight Caesar and getting her ass handed to her.

As for the guy at the end being Aokiji, I highly doubt it. Person was wearing a lab coat and didn’t seem that tall when all the admirals were like 9 ft. Also seemed to be someone that Mone knew and wasn’t afraid of, though it’s difficult to tell anything about her still. It’s probably just someone from Law’s past that we haven’t even heard of before since I doubt Vegapunk is appearing this “early”, much less by himself. If it is him, then he’s a lot more singularly powerful than I thought he was going to be, though I guess that kinda makes sense even if he isn’t a combatant given the apparent range of Caesar’s abilities already.

(Also, Law’s breath was becoming visible because they were heading away from the heated center of Caesar’s lab. That side of island is in a constant blizzard, remember?)

Yeah but you can’t see Monet’s breath. That’s one of the reasons I thought that.

(For the record, I know nothing about bird physiology.)

I just thought that was because of Mone(t) being basically half-bird at this point and having more insulation or whatever. Not really sure.

Still, I can’t see Aokiji becoming more ruthless after leaving the military post-Akainu-fight, which freezing someone’s internal organs is, especially when he could have just frozen most of the corridor or most of Law’s body or at least cover Law’s mouth with ice to stop him saving “Room”. Aokiji flashfroze a bunch of people with Soru during the war a couple of years ago and I’m pretty sure that Law isn’t faster than him, so…

Maybe its the Yonkou he was plotting against?

Yes, a Yonkou will just appear on the island randomly.

It’s probably some random person Law knows from being on the island who is new and strong but won’t be strong after they are beaten up by Luffy.

Gastinets was funny.

I hope it’s randomly Doflamingo and he kills everyone. The End.

its Dr Hogback

Damn, looks like we have a new player incoming!

…Or an old one returning after two years.

w00t I called luf-dawg’s resistance in poison…

(Was wondering where VS was.)

Geez, there sure is a lot to read about when it comes to just generic gas, though I suppose that shouldn’t be surprising given it’s one of the three states of matter…which makes me realize how much more dangerous than ol’Smokey Caesar probably is; Smoker really seems like he got the short end of the Logia stick.

Hmmm…wonder if the Gas Gas Fruit at highest ability could potentially control or even generate plasma…

Even more unlikely. Big Mom’s a fat-ass and we know what Shank and Blackbeard’s legs look like. Literally the only person it could be would be Kaidou. While I personally think that Kaidou is one of the two Yonkou they’re potentially plotting after (since the only other acceptable target is Big Mom), him showing up, in a lab-coat, by himself, just seems…out there.

Besides, Kaidou has noticeable facial hair and is taller, IIRC, than this guy it seems just from we’ve seem of the silhouettes.

I keep forgetting about that, even though it came up with the Blue Ring Octopus Fishman just last arc. I have a terrible memory.

Holy Shit HOLY SHIT!!!

VS actually mentioned a logical plot point in his standard absurdist post, YATTA! :woot: Although donned in what appears to be a Marine’s uniform, the interloper could easily be World Gub’ment Doflamingo (unless Law was poisoned beforehand (time release?) and now struggling from the effects. Not to mention Doflamingo was ordered from “on-high” to kill Moria, which could easily mean the Gorosei, since he doesn’t seem to respect the Marines.

Caesar’s powers I knew would be overwhelming eventually. Luffy probably would be dead if it wasn’t for his immunity though. I had a feeling Caesar would make use of his gas as explosives and was pleased when oda delved further into the obvious by showing that Logias can use their ability whilst being touched by armaments. I don’t know why people were confused about this element before.

CC looked kind of worried there for a minute until Luffy passed out. Then he jumps up and plays it off with his “yeah dats right!” pose.

This makes my insides hurt. I hate when people talk about manipulating inner organs, it scares me to death.

(Yeah, I could see it being Doflamingo, though then the comment about it being a while becomes odd since they’re both Shichibukai.)

Incidentally, speaking of internal organ manipulation, if any of the fruits besides Law’s could do that (without damaging the exterior, much), then assuming Doflamingo has a fruit, I could easily see him of being able of doing something like control people’s lungs or heart, even in the metaphorical sense.

I mean, if Kuma can freaking push out pain, then…

Because people are idiots. Really, that’s kinda the catch-all answer for most things unfortunately.

Dofla has puppet puppet fruit.

I suspect that it may not be donfla. Reason being is that his abilities refer to being a puppet, like Viciious SLash said. He uses the traditional way of holding the strings of a puppet when he uses the ability. He was also able to clean cut of Oz’s leg. That contributes more to that theory.

Now, on the question of who is that person in the new chapter. Most likley a new one. I don’t remember anyone having something close to that ability, unless someone from Part 1 ate a devil fruit during the skip.

(Heh. Calling it “puppet puppet fruit” makes me think of Doflamingo as being really good at children’s sock-puppet shows.)

Oh, I don’t think it’s Doflamingo or anyone we know, though now he springs to me mind–no pun intended due to Bellamy’s dumb-ass–as the most likely of characters we do know and have seen.

As for the way that he marionettes people, yes, I am aware that it’s usually pretty clean and seamless/without pain. Doesn’t mean that he could make it painful if he wanted to. Similarly doesn’t mean that his fruit, if he has one, isn’t a more far-reaching one of control. Considering the people he’s been shown to control have been able to speak, but Law saying “Room” and being able to speak in general would be problematic given his powers, it could be that Doflamingo decided to use another application of his power that we haven’t seen yet; also entirely possible that he just chooses to marionette people around the other way because he’s sadistic asshole and that he doesn’t have more subtle means of “control” that don’t involve cutting people up or forcibly controlling them.

But, yeah, I kinda doubt it’s him since it seems more likely that Law was poisoned somewhere along the line. That said, Doflamingo is a hell of a lot more likely than one of (ex) Admirals or one of the Yonkou. I guess it could be Aokiji, but for Aokiji to selectively freeze Law’s internal organs means that Law would have had to have done something freaking horrible in Aokiji’s eyes given how merciful Kuzan is compared to most people in the military.
