Okay, I was trolling when I said I had seen the intro.
I just legit finished the first ep of the new world. I dunno about that intro. The ep ended at the worst moment, but all in all, it went as expected for anyone who’s read the manga. Nice to see them animated, though.

No one in one piece history has ever taken that kind of punishment and lived! The new world is a treacherous place! I am scared for the crew. One of them may die in a coming chapter!
The time-skip episode was amazing. Especially in HD. When Zoro walks into the bar, that shit’s awesome. I think the thing I love about the One Piece anime is that Toei makes each episode take as long as a chapter, unlike most anime where 1 episode = 10 chapters and then OH HEY WE’RE IN FILLER AGAIN. coughbleachcough
Saw the new ep, I liked it. They did a good job pacing everything considering the fact that it’s a whole chapter. If Luffy Haki’d them at the end it would’ve made for a more memorable entrance.
New intro is pretty hype, but nothing so far has yet to beat Brand New World. Now that song really gets me excited! :rock:

I agreed on using the straw hats to voice the fake straw hats was a pretty good idea, though wasnt it Zoro doing fake luffy? Hopefully Nami and Robin do Fake Zoro and Sanji lol. I didnt like the fact that Sanji didnt flip off the trannies, and there Dat Cucummber tm was missing.
Pacing seemed orite, I rewatched the episode 3 times now and it wasnt as “bad” as I originally thought. I think it was just the level of high inevitbly lead to some disappointed.
Also, probably an unpopular opinion, I think it would have been nice to have a 1 month break similar to the manga, would have given a 1 month extra head start in the manga (albeit a small one), and would have built up the hype better IMO. In those four weeks they could have done other specials like toriko x one piece, or done shorts on other characters, like the guy stuck in wood box, or some of Crocodiles former lackeys. But meh whatver.

I gotta reread that chapter this morning, I’m not sure I have any clue wtf just happened.
I’m a little confused wit hthe Luffy/Hody fight honestly.
And honestly, this ‘exchange’ has gone on tooooooo long. Oda doesn’t do ‘much’ wrong, but Luffy’s been in that bubble or stopping Noah for like a month and change now…and it doesn’t look like its ending next week either.
