I just had a headache yesterday. I’ll try to do this in like three sentences.
I just want to see the new strawhats. So I am angry.
I am also angry because Fisher Tiger didn’t punch things.
I think the flashback could have been done in 2 chapters. One for Fisher and one for Otohime.
I need to go read some Vertigo comics or something. Manga always drives me nuts.
Also Sho2, I am not talking about you at all when it comes to Oda being perfect. I am hating on White Shadow because he won’t read crap that I tell him to read that is fantastic.
It was mentioned that Vice Admirals are the primary haki users. Unless explicitly shown by Oda it would be a huge stretch assuming otherwise. Then there’s also the fact that they didn’t display any fundamental forms of haki when being attacked.
This and the fact that Fisher Tiger has always seemed to have his power from brute strength and stamina alone; climbing The Red Line barehanded, going nuts at Mariejois etc. I don’t think Oda really needs to elaborate on being shot by normal, average marines.
The only thing that implies he might have extra powers/abilites is the fact that he knocked Kadar with a single hit and even then, it’s probably his strength.
I can’t say that I care for the fact that the accomplishments of one of the biggest bad asses or ‘heroes’ in One Piece turned out to be a lie. I mean was climbing the Red Line with his bare hands all a lie? Probably, it still could’ve happened; but him breaking out and breaking back in didn’t have as much of an impact compared to the legend of Fisher Tiger. I don’t know why people are hung up on him dying from getting shot though. It’s not like 1 person shot him and he fell; he actually withstood a fleet (or whatever, alot of marines in general) and managed to survive briefly afterwards.
Anyways, after seeing the latest OP anime episode, I want Sabo to be alive even more now =[
a) it was in the new world and presumably on the half of the grandline where the most fearsome pirates are they’ll have stronger marines there opposed to the first half of the grandline or even the 4 seas.
b) so is coby a vice admiral now? since he showed haki? were the priests in skypeia vice admirals or the kuja pirates? I’m just entertaining the possibility that maybe some of the bullets might have been haki embued. You can’t prove me wrong that its a possibility.
There are strong and weak people in the New World, both pirates and Marines alike. Whitebeard had weak pirates on presumably the strongest crew in the world. The Marines had many fodder during the biggest war they’ve had, it comes with the territory. Specialists tend to be decorated as well (CP9) and these men were clearly ordinary.
What you are presenting is a logical fallacy. The burden of proof does not rest on me but on you to prove said claim. I could say there are Martians drinking goat milk on Venus- which I can neither prove or disprove, but since it’s my claim it is my job to provide solid proof. That’s why accusations in court can’t go far without substantial evidence. So yes, it’s impossible for me to prove you wrong, but that’s not my job.
As for Coby, do you mean currently? That’s a very strong possibility given the fact that the Marines saw promise in him 2 years ago. Secondly, Coby is not an ordinary Marine and knows some of the same Rokushiki Arts his fellow VAs do (Garp trained him and Helmeppo for good reason), which is why those Marines were clearly ordinary given their uniform and the way they reacted to Tiger’s prowess.
Yup… Which he allowed because he didn’t want to murder them and he was simply tired of fighting his cause.
Luffy doesn’t use lethal force or weapons. Rubber fists are seriously sooooo deadly.
Except the hundreds of bodies that piled up during the war. And all the people Hodi just killed like 10 issues ago? And Whitebeard. And Ace. And Fisher. And Roger. And Sabo. And Nami’s foster mother whatever her name was. And that mountain bandit Lucky Roo shot in the head. And Moria too iirc. Get out of here with that..
As stated above, this is a stupid statement.
So now it’s a requirement to be a widely known name to be dead. Gonna lump this one in with the above two. You’re just reaching now.
Edit: It occurred to me that this last quote actually supports the arguement you are going against. Most cannon fodder no names in the series ALWAYS end up dead now that I think about it. So yes, Tiger would have slaughtered the lot of them, based on your logic.
THANK YOU for writing exactly what I was thinking! This was the second biggest wtf death in OP so far. The standard OP hyper emotional, tear scene did nothing for me.
So much for an epic whitebeardesque last stand.
(Hmm…odd. Akainu’s Devil Fruit does have an official name already, but it just wasn’t on released in the manga yet (like Tsuru’s) or on the wiki’s Logia list…for some reason.)
Yeah, people have been thinking that he’s probably alive ever since the flashback ended and Robin got rescued by Dragon, whom also appeared in the flashback. I’m still curious as to why Dragon appeared at Zoro’s master’s island–I’m sure there are people who think that Kuina is still alive because of it. Then again, there’s always been people who have thought she was still alive since her death seemed so lame and she & Taishigi look so much alike apparently.
I see. Is your headache at least gone?
Hey, I like her too. Like white shadow pointed out, though, I wouldn’t surprised if she killed her mother during childbirth, though. She is the youngest.
Then again, considering Boa’s situation, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Tenryuubito killed her parents either.
Uh…doesn’t that question answer itself?
Like Fisher Tiger, apparently, Luffy doesn’t TRY to kill people, so again, that question answers itself. Luffy is also innately bullet proof or else he would have died when trying to rescue Zoro or, you know, any other time that he got hit by a bunch of bullets.
Speaking of Zoro, he’s pretty much the only regular character we’ve seen who somewhat frequently kills people and most of those characters weren’t named (or, at least, are so far off on the periphery that you’d need Van Auger’s sight to see them).
Uh. Mooks die all the time in One Piece, which is why I find the “no one ever dies” claim ridiculous. Sure, it’s rather rare for someone named to die outside of a flashback and we all think that Pell should have probably died (though maybe his innate Armor Haki is absurdly strong). However, to say that no one died during the war or even before it beyond Ace and Whitebeard is rather dishonest.
See above. Just because named characters tend to not to die–and I must admit that I’m surprised that Curiel apparently survived–in One Piece don’t mean that hundreds, maybe a couple of thousands of people didn’t die during the war. Otherwise Coby freaking the hell wouldn’t have made sense and neither would that scene where Coby watched Akainu murder a deserter on the spot.
I mean, with what you’re saying, it seems like name recognition is the only way for people’s death to matter, which is…really odd considering that victims in most fiction tend to be relatively nameless background people unless it’s like a murder mystery or something. I guess that Magellan just running through people in Impel Down with fatal poisons had no impact then.
