Spider-Man isn’t really a lame out type of character, so that’s probably what’s going wrong here. If you’re trying to wait off someone’s x-factor, he’s good for that, but Spidey can’t camp well because he won’t get any damage dealt unless you’re waiting to land a raw web throw. If it were me, I would use Disruptor to get in on the offense. Zero is pretty damn susceptible to :atk: Spider Sting, and if you miss you can make it safe using :db: or :df: Web Zip (run away or pressure, depending on the situation). You can use disruptor and web throw to cover a good portion of the screen too.
Sometimes I tried to zip, dash or air dash with the disruptor assist and gets hit by the jump Buster, is there anyway to get around that? And do you sometime just randomly fish for the Spider Sting, or do you try to get close to Zero first?
I guess I will try to play more aggressively, but Zero’s normals are very strong, I am just very wary of it hence I don’t want to be close to him unless I am already controlling the offence.
Idkif anyones tried this, but when a new character is coming in to do a kara spider sting
I sort of have a mixup like that. When using an assist that will pin down an incoming character, such as Dark Hole, you are able to get a cross-up sting/bite on the opponent and follow that up with a full combo. However, doing that may require the opponent to be just a *little *bit away from the wall, so you’ll have to force them away from the wall a bit with a delayed or :h: Web Throw, depending on what angle you’re looking at.
As for just doing a raw kara sting on an incoming character, I’m not quite sure if that will cross up or not. I’d assume that it should be able to in the same way that Wolverine can cross up incoming characters with :uf: Drill Claw. If you can, that’d be godlike. Imagine doing a kara sting to cross the opponent up while calling Dark Hole or Repulsor Blast, web throwing them into the corner, cross them up with another kara sting, web throw back into the corner off of the ground bounce because they didn’t hit the ground after the first bite since your assist caught them, and do some more crazy crap there. That’d be some good ass damage right there!!!
Edit: Hell, if we can do the same thing as Wolverine, imagine what kind of damage we could get off of JWong’s incoming setup with Rising Fang assist! @____@
…irk. Maybe I’m not the best person to help. Not a whole lot of experience against Zero (in fact I’ve never played a competent one).
Against zero, crouching medium beats his j. H also use spidersting l. Or h. To beat his air shenanigans
Yo Zero, what do you do against Rushdown peeps like Wolverine? He always gets me whenever I try to land combos, so annoying… I can keep away from him really good but that ain’t gonna’ kill him. I need some advice yo! lol.
Stay mobile, but don’t get predictable. While doing so, try to bait a divekick and get him to whiff it or block it right above the ground so you land without blockstun and punish him with a c.:l:. You can also anti-air with c. or :l: Spider Sting, although :l: Spider Sting is more of a spacing thing. You can also zone him with Web Throw. When doing so, try to pin Logan down with an assist and try to time the Web Throw so that it will frame trap after the assist ends. That’s all I have for now.
What is his incoming set up like? I haven’t watched Justin Wong play in a while and I use Iron fist with the RF assist.
Also to piggyback, use your assist. I have Iron Man and Doom so it’s a lot easier to make wolverine slip up once I have the spacing. Ive noticed a lot of Wolverines run into web swings often, also, and this can be used with others, you can pushblock then spider sting predictable rushdown patterns. Lastly, web balls with different zip cancels can catch when he tries to jump over web balls to move forward. When they start getting too predictable avoiding web balls just UWT
I blame it on Airborne… shrug
kara sting gave me an idea… i’ll just kara web throw LOL
Doesn’t work the same in the corner it still throws them away midscreen meaning it can still be blocked correctly.
I blame it on Airborne… shrug
Do any of you do the web swing but tk, it gices u instand over head wen giving pressure,
Basically he gets up all cozy in the corner, and when the opponent comes in he does :uf: Drill Claw while calling Iron Fist’s Rising Fang assist. He then does a dive kick to get quickly to the ground and picks up off of the wall bounce. He said he gets like 1 Mil off that. @__@
Speaking of web swing, :h: Web Swing seems to do fairly well against Dooms that bait approaches and punish with [S]food drive[/S] foot dive.
We know of it, but we don’t have very many uses for it since we can’t cancel our normals into the aerial Web Swing. It’s also rather difficult to perform consistently, although you mentioning it makes me want to work with it more…
played a zero and doom and got lit up…def. need to learn the matchups and options…-smh-
i thought it still crosses up, just that it always throws away. doesn’t matter to me, i like raw web throw combos.
I might get on XBL in a couple so I’ll walk you through it over mic. You remember what he was doing in your match with him, right?
Yeah, that’d probably be a bit broken if that worked. XD
As for the cross-up sting on an incoming character, I attempted something like it on my friend when I had just snapped his Strider in. I’m not quite sure how much time had passed, but I had him stuck in the corner right above the ground and managed to cross him up with Spider Sting. It was tight. ;O
The reason the Kara sting works is because it has crossup box on it. Web throw isn’t like that plus has longer startup.
I told you web swings in general have a lot more priority now. I abuse them when I can.
I blame it on Airborne… shrug
Ight cool time to hit training mode, thanks for the tip guys.
btw did y’all know you can hit someone with MS after a Spider Sting/Bite’s ground bounce? I learnt it from watchin’ this Japanese Spidey player.
yeah but it’s not that useful and it’s one of the missions in mission mode
