I ran the hypest tourney here… a CvS2 side tournament. I took 2nd in that. I won HDR, and I went 2-2 in SF4. SF4 teams is next, and Im going to play way better for teams, bet it. Not saying we will win, but Im going to play way better. I lost to two wake up ultras in the last round. Who the fuck does that? And the 2nd wake up ultra I lost to auto corrected. Chris saw that happen.

Yea I dont feel bad about going 0-2 in TvC. The first match was against Tblade/Ryu and it was 2-1. The second one I just got raped by Franky’s Zero. It didn’t help it was a 3 man tourney lol. I definitely was taking matches off of Franky in friendlies. I just need more match-up experience that I can’t get here at UIUC.
$1 CvS2 tourney was pretty fun even tho im horrible at that game. It had the most hype out of every tourney there lol.
Yea, yesterday was fucking awesome. You guys shoulda been there. I threw the hypest tourney there (CvS2) and took 2nd in it, and won HDR. I just played like shit in SF4. I didn’t play it once all day, and jumped straight into the tournament, so that sucked. I know better than to do that again.
Also, the interview was great. Im about to start working on uploading it right now. I have to split it into two parts, because it ran double the time that I thought it would, be that’s awesome.

Yeah, the ranbat was lots of fun. DeadXIII has a cool little spot out there, and the crowd was great (although turnout was small).
I’m still a bit salty about getting double perfected in Teams by Spriggan’s Akuma, but I see exactly how it happened. He started the round a few fireballs until I got in range of his demon flip and then it was over. Had me in the goddamn vortex from the beginning of each round, right up until the KO. I was forced to guess like 4-5 times per round and I managed to guess wrong EVERY time. I never even had a chance to build meter, I was defending literally every second of every round.
His Akuma is damn good. Plays totally different than Dennis’ akuma. I was expecting patient footsies and zoning, not vortex madness from the very first second of each round. I’ll be ready for that shit the next time we meet up.
Oh well, I beat his team mate, and I went on two 4-0 streaks in casuals against other players who are near my own skill level, so even though my actual tourney performance was weak (fuck gief. SRSLY), I feel good about how I played.
It sucks losing to gief by less than 300 health points, because that is the starting difference in our health bars…if chun didn’t have nerfed health just for not having a dick, those matches would have been different. The first one I just threw away though, I wasn’t warmed up at all and I had a really bad case of the “oh shit this PS3 feels fucked up, why is my timing so far off???” and before I knew it, it was over.
Second match I played better, if only I could figure out how to AA gief that match would be fine…he gets to jump at me too easily.

Yeah spriggan plays differently than akuma.
Akumas mixups can be very difficult to get out of if you limit yourself to only blocking. Akuma has options for almost every one of your options but each dont cover all at the same time (although it seems like it).
Honestly sometimes to get out of akumas stuff you have to take risks. If you only block, you are going to get hit and It sucks royally for chun.
Somethings to try: neutral jump/back jump. Hell sometimes just hold up after getting knocked down. If you see a demon flip just jump if you are not comfortable blocking. There is a 2/3 chance you will be hit but only a 1/3 chance to get knocked down.

LOL, the one time I tried holding up, he somehow knew I was going to do that and I ate DP > FADC > Red fireball.
I tried backdashing but he used option select sweep.
It was literally as if he knew what I was going to do, before I did it. Then I got so shook by that, that I managed to whiff EX SBK…regular bird kick came out and got stuffed by a meaty crouch jab. So the one time that I chose the correct option, I still fucked that up cause I was so shook by what was happening.
If only it was more reasonable for chun to airthrow him out of demon flip, but her floaty jump makes it almost impossible.
I’m sure if we played more matches I would figure something out to where he was still winning, but I wasn’t so damn free. I haven’t been free to anyone in a long time, not like that…it was to the point where I was just kinda in shock at how literally everything that I tried to do, only resulted in the situation getting worse.

Perks for you guys include: Only about a block further from the old place, no speed bumps, easy to find (will elaborate in a minute) more space, grounded outlets and MORE ROOM FOR SET UPS.
We could use 2 evo monitors plus systems (a 360 and a PS3 or 2 360s) for this week’s session. I plan on having my 360, PS2 and Wii up for games and possibly the PC. That means potentially 6 set ups if people can oblige.
Directions: Head west on Springfield like you were going to the old place except go past Kenwood and use the second entrance for Stonegate apartments, it will be on the left just before El Toro Mexican Restaurant. Head all the way to back of the lot, Building E is the last on on the left. It’s a secure door so we have to buzz you in (Remember E12) but parking is still free and open to anyone. Typically all the spots next to the garages are open which should leave space for all of us. Call me on Friday with questions or hit the thread for clarification.
