Old Genei Jin for the Win!: Yun Moveset, Strategies, and Combos

You have alot of options but it’s mainly dependent on how quickly you activate it after landing.
Everything combo’s into it but I use cl mk into mk dp until it’s about to drop then jc cl mk into a reset.
If that’s not an option I use st mp in-between dp’s, but you can also use st lk.
It’s mainly trial and error. Hope that helps

Is there a link to a video of where AA lk upkicks -> super has been used?? Was trying the other day and still couldn’t get it down.

Thanks, will try this out later

gaaaah, I see all this and I feel so bad since I have to wait till console release AE. Hurry up June 5th!

ive been messing around with yun again lately, tested the corner fa backdash palm palm combo, doesnt work against everyone, maybe ill jot down and make a list

oh and i tend to miss my ultra 1 after ex lunge punch(usually off a command throw s.lp s.lk s.mp TC) against adon, i could swear that i got the timing right, i land it most of the time against other characters.

Even though Adon is a character that can be tatsu sweeped by Akuma, he is the worst character for Dudley to juggle. That might have a lot to do with it.

Refrence: http://shoryuken.com/f333/character-specific-combo-juggle-thread-260445/

Is MDR just using delayed LK Dragon Kicks after EX Command grab here or am I missing something?

if you watch closely he did an lp (far lp) into LK upkicks, the rearback from the lp makes the first kick miss but the 2nd hit.

and does this allow to combo ultra on everyone or is it character specific?

this is correct. its st.lp lk upkicks into ultra. hard to see in the video, you can count the hits though… and its mentioned in the commentary too

character specific. if im not mistaken, works against certain characters with “big” hitbox… i dont have a list though

learn few new combo from watch JP video.

I think that’s why alot of jp players don’t want their vids online.

is this really true?

from my experience, not really, but i could always be wrong

i tried this combo at arcade today.
command throw s.lp, into LK upkicks, lp Lunge Punch is a very good combo if they don’t have ultra.

i could be wrong too. that’s just what i heard. people asked Daigo and other pros to see if they can post their vid online, they said no. That’s why you never any Daigo, Mago winning on SSF4 rank matches because he doesn’t want to upload them.

for daigo, yeah, i heard his manager basically doesnt allow people take footage of him… but theres no real law against it(i think) so people can still take vids of him playin at the arcade but i guess itll be considered rude if you were told politely not to do so and still do it anyway, and you know how japanese and being polite go together…

and youre talking as if they are a lot of “pros” in japan(in ssf4), theres only what, daigo and recently tokido… i dont think mago is sponsored. its understandable for them at least, since its their source of income, they get money for playing games while 99% of other top players in japan still play the game as a hobby etc.

ive known decent~top players who dont mind their vids taken, while some of them dont mind but would appreciate it if you ask for their permission first, so yeah, id say most people are okay with their vids taken but asking for permission politely wont hurt. id usually ask, not just because its the polite thing to do(i dont ask sometimes too lol but i havent gotten any negative reactions so far) but because by talking to them, id increase my chance to make more friends in the scene(and ive made quite a lot of friends from going to arcades and offline sessions)…

as for not uploadin ssf4 ranked match, i dont know but sometimes its when i won “ugly”/by luck etc that i was offered the chance to upload the match, so usually ill just say no. id understand not wanting to upload things you think might not be worth uploading, plus theres no real obligation to do so…

They aren’t “pro” in the sense that they make a living off the game but in general Japan > America in terms of skill. American players almost never make it far into Japanese tournaments. We just don’t hear about them because they don’t travel around the world like Daigo and Tokido. To put it in perspective, J wong probably has the 3rd-4th best Rufus in the world behind Jap players.

I was looking through the thread and I couldn’t find the input for OS lunge punch. Anyone know the input?

The input is low jab to lunge punch. But you have to delay the the lunge punch motion enough so you don’t cancel the jab on hit. If you do it quickly you’ll get low jab xx lunge punch on block and you’ll get punished pretty hard. I do a tiger knee motion on the lunge punch motion to get the timing down but thats just me. If your doing it right you should see Yun doing low jab standing jab on block or hit and low jab option select lunge punch on a backdash.

Combos!

So I should just be negative edging the low jab, yes?
