also i would like 2 add,at this point n the game option selects are a must and if ur nt using them ur making half of the matchup harder on urself
i agree with sicx, ken’s game comes from pressure, and if you cant limit they’re options on wakeup, well thats not very much pressure. with ken’s OS’s and safe jump we can limit almost any chr’s options to
a. block
b. Reversal
which makes baiting that reversal that much easier. i dont mind OS using cr.strong for specials, the only problem is they can just block the meaty cr.strong and backdash. Even if you do it really meaty the only real option if they’re crouching is cr.mk- FB. focus bait…
i think we have much more options off a short block string
if the character has a good reversal and meter c.lk is a tad bit safer bt lets say its sim wit no meter, meety mp os ex tatsu shuts all his options down cept 4 bloking

I was wondering what kind of option selects you, all, use against a teleport happy akuma?
I’m guessing some sort of cr.lk XX qcb lp+mk+hk, but I’m a little worried about him teleporting in the opposite direction… although I guess it would just mean you are left no where near him.
you can do a jumping in OS too it normally works better. say jump in roundhouse (ex tatsu at the same time the kick would land) then finish with your blockstring if he doesnt telly. its pretty much the only thing that’ll be any use and even with you’ll only get 1 or maybe 2 hits off the tatsu
use hk in that situation bt remember u cant safejump ken ryu and akuma,id advise crosing him up the os tatsu,bt ive stopd crosups wit him, lame it out end ur combos wit ex srk and runaway,wen hes coming to u u have the advantage

I dunno…i was trying the OS tatsu yesterday and like over half the time I would just completely whiff the tatsu and end up next to him and get punished. I had the best luck just jumping in really early, backdashing, and then catch the end of his tele with a c.mk>ex.tatsu

ya like sicx said, the only time you should really need to pressure him on wakeup is when he has the lifelead. you main gameplan should to be get in, get the lead and get out.
the reason the jump in OS is a better option than just empty jump to wait for the tele, is because you cover twice as many options using the tatsu OS. the less options you give him the more he’ll be tempted to try a risky AA.

use option select cr. mp
basically when he is doing is dive-kick pressure if you press mp + lk + lp then if he jumps up for a dive-kick you get a cr.mp to come out which stuffs his dive-kick and if he goes in for a throw you get a tech, just don’t get too predictable with this or he will catch on and you’ll eat a nice ex messiah for your trouble. but seeing as how you can late tech a throw with this if you just delay it you should be able to catch when he try’s the messiah.
If you wait too long then wont you just keep getting stuffed by dive kicks? Kens c.mp is kinda slow. I honestly have not played one good rufus…ever. There is literally none on PC. Sicx said that he uses a plinked c.lp~c.lp+c.lk, which sounds like it’d be pretty good.
not really cr.mp only has a 5 frame start-up and so yeah if you delay it a tiny bit like 2-4 frames if he’s doing like a really low to the ground dive kick then you will just block it, any higher and you will stuff it (unless he crosses up maybe?) i primarily learned this option select because of how effective it is against cammy, so i am not 100% sure about the intricacies of it vs. rufus, but yeah it should work pretty much the same.
I will use this as an option. But the Rufus’s here don’t just dive kick, throw or dive kick dive kick. They will mix in c.LK into hit confirms ending with possible galactic tornado. If you are in the corner, they’ll ultra after the tornado. If I went for option select, i think the c.LK will beat it out. Honestly I rather get thrown, lol.

any advise on how to approach a good Honda, been having a lot of trouble in that match up
be lame. really this is not one of ken’s more exciting matchups. honda does a f tonn of damage, has a command grab, and a great reversal/aa
basically get the lead. His EX headbutt aa can be safe jumped so bait that shit, they also like to throw it out after a jump in so sometimes j.fp block is good bait too.
dont worry too much about random headbuts, you can jab them pretty easy 3/4 screen away and you can abuse your FB for once aswell.
another thing is that it’s actually pretty hard to AA honda’s jumpins cuz his big bitchslap has such crazy range, he can bait out a wiffed mp srk and really hurt you. i find that lp fb’s are great to walk behind, if they are forced to jump it, you’ll at least be in range for your AA.
once jumping stops working he might try to do silly buttsplash gimmicks, just block high and punish. if your not sure of the cross up jump back fierce beats it pretty often.
basically just dont get caught trying to end the round with mixups, his hitbox sucks and he has awesome comeback potential. lame it out

WTF can i do to stop that stupid chun-li cross up where she jumps over your head just as you are getting up. Its not a normal jump i dont know what the moves called though whatever i do im getting hit with it And whats a good tactic for beating her in general. i have the same problem fighting both her and guile as they all do the same thing now and i dont have a solution, they throw out a slow fireball/sonic boom then walk up and use a poke when the fb/sb is blocked.
