LOL, same thing happened to me. I’d get home for school and try to find my cartoons and that court case would come on. I don’t remember Nickelodeon playing anything good in the early afternoon aside from really bad cartoon re-runs.
The district attorney rushed and scheduled the trial around his re-election campaign, instead of assembling a prosecution that wouldn’t get outclassed by very well-known ace defense lawyers. The civil suit was cut-and-dry and professionally handled, not necessarily because of lessons learned from the criminal trial.
Less burden of proof in a civil suit, and OJ exhausted his money from the criminal case. Still it was a fair fight. It’s not like nobody at the DA knew of Shapiro, Bailey, Cochran, even Kardashian (who was retired before the trial iirc).
Nah, sports stars are forever getting caught with hookers, starting fights, drugs, guns in clubs, and very, very little comes out of it. As long as they are still playing, now when you are not playing… then you go broke on a lawyer.
