I’m not at home, but I don’t think that combo would work… For one, I don’t think you can combo into shield slashes after two relaunches.
So since I still think Cap is cool, I found a relatively simple fuzzy guard setup.

now THAT is useful. very VERY useful. I didn’t think there would be a way to “force” the opponents hurtbox to be standing in order to land those instant overheads - AWESOME.
I’m pretty sure most other characters can do this too. All it needs is a decent assist and an air normal that hits low enough.
But yeah considering how good Cap’s j.E is, this is pretty neat.

also caps jumping s is NOT his best air normal and not by a LONG shot.

the concept was basically to get as many high damage air moves as i could - using as few “low damage” hits as possible.

EDIT: i hate the characters that it doesn’t work well on like ammy sent wolverine and probably a few others, but love those that it absolutely wrecks - like zero doom etc
i also like that if you’re just learning this combo and you did my old bnb for example, you can just change out the medium and light shield slash for heavies and go right into this against a lot of the cast
the thing I was working on is the capabilities this combo has with an otg assist, since a launcher is used, the game registers all these hits as pre smash down hits, so if at the end of the combo you do a j. s, you get a free untechable knockdown and you can easily call in an otg for a bit more damage, that’s another reason I love cap, his shield borderline breaks the games set mechanisms of hitstun and comboing (if that made Any sense)
I didn’t know that - neat! Maybe with it being normal jump height I can get something off that - but it seems unlikely it’d do MORE than what I’ll call the “traditional” finish. GREAT to know though. I can surely have some fun with that one =]
i love his juggles too. nice combo vid. don’t forget that his light charging star also ignores hit stun detoriation. with the right assist or two, you can actually land 3 or 4 of them in a row at the end of a long combo before the hyper.
i’ve been lazy to find new stuff, but i’ve been meaning to find a way to combo off of his stars and stripes.
i was and then i realized there wasn’t really a point. you can cancel it into hyper sure - but if you actually manage to get all 3 hits of a heavy they’re too high to hit them with hyper charging star and hyper stars and stripes will only hit like two times and do crappy damage.
with the right assist you can do SOMETHING
but that doesn’t mean dont try - maybe you’ll find a way to do heavy stars and stripes fly unfly shield slash loop… =(
Yah I figured out fuzzy guard setups for my team, didn’t know cap had one
few videos of our last tourney - soem serious tourney jitters for some reason so there are some amazingly questionable hypers and just impatient moves (AND SOME REALLY REALLY CRAPPY IRON MAN PLAY big lols for that one). I also had just (the night before the event) started practicing the new bnb with the h shield slash loops and also just started playing hulk for the first time since the week of release - but you can also see in these matches how things work out when i’m not doing stupid things like that - i got 4th at this event. Hulk isn’t necessarily permanent - I haven’t dropped Thor.

These are casuals I am assuming right? Several times I noticed you could have killed his 3rd guy with lvl 2 xfactor into the Jumping H Shield Slash loop multiple times but opted not to.
Gimpy, there were a few times in the first video against koreanwhiteboy where he’d have storm out and be in super jump mode chucking downward lightning spheres. A lot of times you managed to actually be able to get under the angle of the spheres to avoid getting hit by them, but then were forced to block as she came down with S attack (case in point @12:10). You could try using normal Stars and Stripes to beat out her attack on the way down. It’s not a move that people use a lot, but in that particular situation I think it could really benefit you.
Also in one case (12:21) you got under the sphere and activated hyper charging star. Again, hyper stars and stripes here probably would’ve worked better.
Edit: I’m a big advocate of dragon punches as you can tell. ^^
Tournament nerves! I saw the same thing as I rewatched and came to the same conclusions there. They are tournament - shield slash loops for me were a day 2 practice! Same with hulk!

After trying it out, I found it quite interesting. Thanks for posting it! I can’t get it right yet, but it doesn’t seem too hard to pull off. It’ll certainly help against the beefy characters of the cast, and a proper DHC into another character should guarantee a kill for about 90% of the cast.
I’m concerned about a patch addressing the extensive uses of shield slashes in one combo…but that’s a concern for another day.
I wanted to see if there a list detailing how many air H Shield Slashes you can pull off per character? The vid itself shows a wide difference to how many you can pull off using Characters like Doom, Skrull, and Ammy. Having some sort of reference would help maximize damage potential.
