any good tactics on how to stop jumps

Depends on the jump trajectories and hitboxes…

If someone is starting a hop in front of you, you can stop it with a horizontal quick normal, usually far A. You can also do a jump back quick attack though it is more anticipation based (Athena’s jump D is great for this).

If someone is high jumping into the corner and you don’t want to be cornered, just walk forward…you’ll block it as if it were a crossup but you won’t be in the corner anymore.

If someone is throwing out a lot of jump attacks with horizontal hitboxes, then you need to find a good normal (generally a crouching one) that shrinks your character’s hitbox so that they can go under the jump attack and punish it…

If you are waking up and a jump attack is already coming down, i wouldn’t try to counter it…just block.

Anyway I’ve got into 2002 and also play on 2df, and this happened to me:

Why did mai fall out of the combo? I failed to run after bc activation but I doubt that’s what caused it. She was backturned too.
I guess it happened because the first hit of dcuD missed, but that’s the only time it’s ever happened to me.

Positioning issues. If you want to ensure that never happens, cancel on the first hit of s.C after you do the BC run.

You shouldn’t cancel on the first hit for that combo, thus wasting a free cancel. You have a nasty mixup chance afterwards with 2 freencancels left: crB, crA, qcbC etc or fwdB, qcbC etc

Maybe because the second C wasn’t deep enough?

I started playing KOF 02 a little ago. My current team is Kula/Yuri/Joe although I might change Joe. Got any tips for any of them? any character suggestions to begin thinking about replacing Joe? (Appart from Iori, I’ll take a look at him today). THanks

Not really sure how to respond to these questions…obviouslyl going to pick the best characters since I don’t know what your kof gameplay style is.

Kula

Standing A - quick jab, looks like K’s and Kyo’s but I don’t think it’s as effective as their’s is although it serves a similar purpose.
Standing B - close or far, it generally serves a similar purpose; her ultimate poke move
Standing C (far) - has some start up to it, but is quick enough to keep your opponent in a block string. Definitely cancel into something after it.
Standing C (close) - 2 hitter, has priority, give you enough time to practically combo anything off of it
Standing D (far) - pretty useless, guess it could work as an aa
Standing D (close) - useful aa if you’re in range and if they happen to get out of the range you can just whiff cancel it into something else
Standing CD - don’t use it outside blockstrings
Crouching A - useless little upward air kick
Crouching B- godlike poke that almost has sweep range
Crouching C- don’t use it for anything other than antiair, wont stop crossups
Crouching D - standard sweep

Jumping A- the move has more recovery than it is active… forget this exists
Jumping B- choice air to air, works as jump in too
Jumping C- good jump in with hyperhop
Jumping CD - has start up but will beat most things when it’s active although it’s hitbox isn’t that big

Where did you get that from? A lot of things are off there…

O Yashiro definitely should be in low mid or perhaps mid at best. Yamazaki should be decreased to Mid as well, as well as Yashiro, Mai, Maxima, and Andy. Choi and maybe Kim should be increased to god tier while Angel and May Lee are decreased one level, May Lee maybe two.

Got 2 og 2k2 questions. I keep seeing this vid of Vice in max mode cancelling Outrage (slicing kicks), into Mayhem (shoulder ram), then repeated Ravenous (aerial Outrage) in the corner until the opponent dies. Is this a hacked version I’m seeing footage of (uploader always has spanish name or vid description is in spanish)? I cannot cancel anything out of either version of Outrage, but Mayhem into Outrage works (but doesn’t juggle).

Also, is it possible to do a loop with Mature’s hcb + k and her qcb + p until the max meter’s empty, like when you alternate the first hits of Kyo’s doku/ara gami chains?
