OFFICIAL World of Warcraft Thread

Roll on an old pvp servers.

Wait, there’s something besides Horde in WoW?

Rampage > All Battlegroups

Taurens and trolls gotta eat.

My guild just downed curator for the 3rd time, but my guild leader said that’s probably as far as we’re going for a while because of shade (i think?)

I haven’t been on in like 3 weeks so i dunno what’s been going on lol.

Whats a good Arcane/Ice talent?

I was happy with my Arcane/Fire talent and heard Arcane/Ice was better. Once I switched over, I hate Ice more than ever >_<

So far I’m running on:

But still testing around it.

Is Ice even that good in PvP? Or are you just better off with Fire?

Arcane/Ice = PvE. A great PVE build is 40/0/21.

Arcane/Fire = PvP.

Hmmmmmm, always had the feeling but I’ve been told its the other way around (and I really can’t see how no matter what builds I go thru).

For now, I’m running this Arcane/Fire talent:

What can be done to improve this build?

Frost has great burst potential and survivability. Amazing control.

Here’s some Frost builds, strictly for PvP.

33/0/28
20/0/41
34/0/27
Zenturil the 59 Frost Mage

Using Ice Lance to build Winter’s Chill is a good thing to know, by the way.

Well of course.
But what I’m wondering is why Arcane Meditation? So when your in Ice Block you can get a bit of mana? Also, I think +6% more mana is better than have your Blink cost about 100 less mana.

Also, screwing with the Arcane/Fire build a bit more, I think this one isn’t too bad:

Here you go Pozer.

You get Arcane Meditation because arcane is basically a raid spec. You want to keep that mana as long as possible. Definitely a raid pve spec but it should do well in PvP.

You gotta grab imp scorch. Scorch will be your main attack. This build is dps monster. With the crit bonus of spell power will push your scorch crits to 1k im guessing. Be very careful with this build, because its looks super fun but dangerous.

can someone give me a leveling build for a priest? this is what i specced for far:

Shadow is the easiest way to go. I’d get some points into wand damage because it’ll save you a lot of time so you won’t drink any water which wastes tons of time. If your wand is decent, you don’t have to really finish off your typical combo. You can just wand them off at half health.

yeah im going shadow right now, I know its supposed to be very good for leveling. I just wanna know which talents to choose.

Max out wand specialization asap

Healing focus can get maxed out too if you want, it’s useful for pvp encounters and surprise pve adds but it’s not really useful for my priest except maybe in instances, and I only instance occasionally.

IMO putting points into disc right after maxing out wand specialization isn’t wise early on, but it’s semi-useful later on. It really isn’t a priority, it’s really icing on the cake if you’re shadow spec.

VE is more of a pvp talent, it’s a waist of mana in most pve encounters. It’s semi-useful for instances, but if i’m the main healer I’m not throwing that and a sw:p at anyone. I’d stick points into it and one point in imp. vamp only because it’s the best available talent.

Imp mind blast isn’t bad early on. I just cast one on most of my fights later in the game for the 60-70 range for mana efficiency. I rarely use this now when grinding because SW:P, vampiric touch, and one mind flay takes them to half life. After that I wand them to death and my DOTS are still killing the mob.

Get shadow form whenever you can
a) because it looks cool. This is the #1 reason why you get shadowform
b)15% shadow damage is too good
c)at your 40s-early 50s you’re probobly top tier when it comes to pvp.
d)leveling isn’t annoying, it’s actually fun when you get shadow form and much much easier. It’s like night and day.

Here’s my build for leveling

Hmmmm… not too sure how exactly that build will work.

For the most part, mages are gonna rely on spells that are instance. If mages rely on something like Scorch as there main damage source, that can turn out perty bad.

With that said, I’d rather have distances than having the stop and cast my spell and just hope for the best. Especially the fact that Scorch and Fire Blast have bad range to begin with.

Also, why are your putting points into Improve Fireball?
There really is no way your going to use that in PvP. And when you do, chances are the opponent will be in polymorph, or whatever. If thats the case, most of the time your better off using Pryo.

With that said, I’d rather have a 10% chance to stun my opponent for 2 seconds, then have a spell that I will rarely use in PvP come out in 0.5 seconds faster. And even at that its still slow.

Seems like a good build for PvE tho.

Pozer: Keep in mind those are heavily based around arena, and I like to keep as mobile as possible. Frost is already great at Mana Efficiency, but in high level Arena matches can draw out a nice while. The “extra” just allows me to be more free with random variables.

1v6=win.

Alchemy is the shit. I was potioned up and started hunting 69’s and 70’s. I only died once to a lock and that was after she died. Fucking DOTS

This is also in the trading forums for anyone interested:

I’m looking to sell my 70 Gnome Mage. Server is PVE and my character can be transferred. I have approximately 800 +fire damage and 30% chance to crit with fire spells. Looking to get about $200. This character is Karazhan attuned and either attuned with or close to attuned to all heroic instances. If you are seriously interested PM me and I can show you my armory profile. Paypal or money order only.

Will consider other serious offers.

I’ll be on again here soon. My net connection has been unstable as fuck and it keeps going down like a two dollar whore on payday. Fuck Comcast.
