IMO pallies have been stereotyped. There are good paladin tanks out there, and they are really good tanks because of the ability to be immune to crushing blows when holy shield is up.
But there are so many shitty tanks out there, it’s overshadowed. Like pally tanks who don’t fucking pull with avenger shield, but use it instead when there’s like 3-4 mobs on them. Not only does it get pushed back from getting hit, YOU CAN"T FUCKING BLOCK while casting. Then other use hammer of wrath to kill.
And ret had threat issues, i dunno how it is now.
But Holy is just great pure healing, and like someone said, if you don’t mind healing, pallies are really good PVP/PVE healers. And don’t forget blessing of kings.

Thanks for the advice :tup: That build you linked is interesting (mace spec with dual wield has to be pretty ridiculous) but like you said with no mortal strike, takes a lot of luck to kill someone. I’ll stick with the arms for now, unless I get really bored 
Dual mace with stun talent was so good pre-nerf. Lol
2.3 brought 30% passive threat reduction as a deep ret talent, so it should be viable. Actually finding a competant Ret paladin PLAYER is another story…
:lol: I know plenty of really good PvP ret pallies, but none that ever raided Ret for anything above Kara.

Also, for any hordies out there sick of their guild, we’re still alive and kicking over on anvilmar. Our server is kinda lame, but we’re the further progressed horde right now. We have a lot of really good players, casual atmosphere (only 3 25 man raid nights a week, 4 hours a night) but we make sure people know their shit. Just attempted vashj last night for our first time.
So if you’re t5 experienced, and ready to push into hyjal/BT, give us a look up. Undaunted on anvilmar.

So I just started playing again recently and I just remembered my server is Akama, which I believe is a PST server, when I’m EST. Any of you know of a good EST server to join?
Depends if you want to do a PVP or PVE server. I’m on Thrall, an EST PvE server, and its been good so far, the bg queues are always less than 15 minutes (mostly 3-5 min) and neither side is particularly dominant. When I first bought the game in '04 I played on Burning Blade for EST PVP, don’t know how its doing nowadays.
