i still feel like we should have gotten third instead of fourth place. they gave this girl the bronze because of the tragic situation she went through with her mom passing, IMHO.

We’ve already seen Americans getting DQ’d to help out Canadians. It’s just that the last time was to push another Canadian into the finals, and it wasn’t Ohno, so it didn’t get as much coverage, but this isn’t the first time the judges handed Canadians a win at the expense of American athletes.

Looks like Ohno only caused the wipeout with Tremblay. The Korean may or may not have been pushed by Hamelin, it looks like he was already falling and then tried to grab his skate to push him down as well.
I think the Korean should have been DQed as well.
US has 2 guaranteed medals which means if they win another one than those two, they beat the record for most medals. They are at 34. The current record is Germany at 36.

It looks like Kum Yu-Na is the only fucking Korean who can stay on her skates in these Olympics. That Korean short track skater that fell is the same one that got wiped out by his own teammate when Ohno won the silver earlier, poor bastard, lol.

actually we have a guaranteed three medals. so the record is ours.
we have one for mens speedskating (yesterday in the semi’s, the mens defeated the fins) and one for womens (they defeated canada in the semis yesterday), plus mens ice hockey.
the worst we could do is silver in all three.
The women aren’t guaranteed a medal. They actually beat Canada in the quarters, and lost today to Germany in the semis. They skate against Poland for a shot at the bronze. USA will definitely win a bobsled medal, so the record is ours.

Canada beats the US in team pursuit. :shake: They’ve got the most golds wrapped up, and still have a legit shot at 3 more. Barring a crash in bobsled, they’ll also win more medals then they ever have. Maybe “Own the Podium” actually worked? :wonder:
