Official USFIV/GGXrd/P4U TE2 Thread

Yep something about the Sanwa Dark Hai that seems more brittle than the others from my experience and my friends felt like the ones that came with their TE2 were knockoffs by the way they feel even after I showed them the Sanwa logo on them but they switched them out.

Question, I just got my TE2 and had questions about the LED light indicators for 1 2 3 4 that is by the PS home buttons. Do they only light up for PS3 or do they do anything on PS4? http://store.madcatz.com/MCB89480_MCZ_TE2_PS4_003.jpg

I hate to come in to a thread and sound lazy, but there’s a hell of a lot of info here and it’s been a long time since I gathered info (which is a lot already).

I’m trying to update the thread [PS3/PS4 RETAIL ARCADE STICKS LIST WITH INFORMATION/FACTS/PHOTOS/ETC -IN PROGRESS-](Definitive Retail Playstation 4 Arcade Sticks List with Info/Facts/Photos/Advantages/Disadvantages

If anyone who owns a TE2 can look over the TE2 areas and help me fill in the blanks it’d be very much appreciated by myself and anyone else trying to get all the info. Thanks in advance.

Most of it is easy. Weight/Length/Width/Height, which plexis sizes were on which models, etc.

Those are to indicate if you are player 1 2 3 or 4. I know they work for PS3, probably for PS4 as well.

I can confirm that they don’t work on PS4, only on PS3.

Any clue when in fall the chun Te is being released?

I know that everyone keeps calling it a “plexi”, but I recently mocked the proof print of the artwork that I’m going to send to Tek-Innovations on my Rivals TE2, and in doing so, removed the bezel and cover. It seemed to me that the cover is made of Lexan (polycarbonate) instead of Acrylic. Granted, I’ve never seen 1/32nd Acrylic (aside from the description page that Art has on his website when he first introduced it), but I have a lot of experience with Lexan, as I raced R/C cars competitively for almost 10 years. To me it just felt like Lexan.

Also, hearing about the original plexi for the TE2 (on the KI stick), I kind of like the idea of the cut edge that allowed the surface to sit flush with the bezel. Someone before mentioned that MarkMan commented people complained about that plexi too… I can’t imagine, unless the cut wasn’t too precise and it left a small gap. Art’s TE2 plexi would probably be perfect with this setup, but I can understand from the explanation on his TE2 page as to why he didn’t want to get involved in that. It really would require a precise cut.

I’ve had my TE2 for some time now, but I’ve only been able to try it out now as I finally reflowed my PS3. The edge where I rest my wrists on is textured and rubs and tears my wrists during play. I don’t have this problem on any of my other sticks, even with my TE S with the actual apparent plexiglass edge. Does anyone else have this problem? Due to this and the art panel issue I had (the art panel got messed up when I had to peel it off to swap in the Type-N panel) I can’t recommend the TE2 to people anymore.

Why did you need to peel the art off to put in the N panel?

To get at the screws on the Vewlix metal panel.

Hmm… Considering that the stick was designed with modding in mind, not to mention that the idea to offer alternate panels were planned from the get go, the idea of sticking the art to the panel seems odd. Now I don’t even want to touch the artwork on my rivals stick.

Supposedly, as I’ve heard from one of you posters here, you can heat up the art panel a little with a hair dryer so that when you (slowly) peel off the art panel, the adhesive won’t mess it up. I sure wish I knew that beforehand. But now, in hindsight, I’m wondering why they made the wrist rest area textured. Does Mad Catz just intentionally want to tear at our wrists?

They seemed to put most of their focus on being able to open the stick with the push of a button it seems. The thicker plexi is a lot better on the wrists though because it’s flush with the bezel.

No offence but honestly when I first saw this complain I just though we got our selves some delicate and think skinned players here.
Is the textured area that rough?

I wonder with a few months of heavy play that there would be smooth, polished, non-textured sections of the wrist area.

Oh the textured plastic? I found that was the best part of the TE2, I prefer than over shiny plastic that gets shinier with wear, scratches easy and is a fingerprint magnet.

Non taken. I think I’m average. I didn’t have problems with my TE Ss which a lot of people said the exposed plexiglass edge cut their wrists.

I can swear by that. Mine is actually starting to get smooth. I’ll try posting a pic later.

What’s the process of changing the side panels like? Similar to the original TE?

4 hex screws on the top and 4 on the bottom of each side panel and it comes off.

That’s good. It’s a complete disassembly of the case on older TE models. Glad they simplified.
