Official UDON Q&A thread

Just got Chuns and issue three is on the way. Man it feels good to follow comics. Udon keep up the good work.

Don’t check them that often. I’ll have a look

Almost certainly yes, though exactly when is still up in the air. Need to give the individual TPB some time to sell first.

Is Street Fighter III only going to be a backup in Street Fighter 2 Turbo, or will it get its own series?

I want to basically catch up on everything I’ve missed, so I pretty much just want to buy all the trades. From what I can tell, there are Street Fighter II trades 1-4, with 4 being a "bonus stage."
I also recall there being a Street Fighter II omnibus, with like all the trades compiled into one book. Is that available anywhere?

In addition, they just started Street Fighter II Turbo, right? So there is no trade out for that yet, correct?

So if I wanted to get the Street Fighter II trades, where could I find those? I can’t find them ANYWHERE, including Amazon, which has them out of stock.

I have collected Udon SF comics since issue #1 (I missed issue #0).

After picking up some of those Masahiko Nakahira Street Fighter mangas and Street Fighter Tribute, I’m liking the thick and sturdyness of these books and I’m starting to wonder if I should have just gotten something like SF: The Ultimate Edition with all the comic issues in it. It’s easier imo to manage a few books rather than a bunch of thin comic books.

Honestly, I didn’t know or expect that the Udon SF comics were going to have these collections. Any pros to collecting the comic books (excluding getting the next issue early and regularly) rather than just getting the comic collections such as SF: The Ultimate Edition?

Also, will there be any more SF: The Ultimate Edition Volume 1’s made?

I’d say the benefit of the single comic issues is the fact of different artists representation hence the variant covers & all just like your typical comic book. the ultimate editions iirc considering i own almost all their works, think of it like a huge graphic novel with the convenience of obviously having in a nice hardbound book. it’s like the ascend special edition graphic novel i bought or the frank frazetta death dealer graphic novel that was put out recently via image comics w/ natt jones & others paying homage to a great story.

were online can I get this comics, other than ebay and amazon. I need a reliable place. I can’t find none of this new comics in my comic place. They only have old issues that I already have. Are you guys putting your store back again.

Matt pass on my thanks for an awesome job on Chunners #1 to the UDON staff, the focus that is also given to Dan in this mini put a big smile on my face.
Oh and Omar’s art is teh sex.

Hi. I’m new to the forum and would first like to say, when did this happen? Not enough orders? Why wasn’t i informed, i would have ordered a dozen for myself. I do already have a hardcover version for myself, but my pages are starting to fall out and I need another copy. I love the smaller graphic novels, but the larger format is so awesome.

And will Udon attend Wondercon in San Francisco this year?

Will there be any more SF Legends?

I’d really like to see an in depth look at Dan’s back-story also Sagat’s rise to power and his downfall at the hands of Ryu.

Will UDON be licensing this new artbook for translation?

Hey Matt long time:

Any idea when the First TPB Turbo will be released?

Will we ever see Gotetsu?

Did Capcom tell you who they wanted to win the SFII tournament or did they leave it up to you?

On that same subject, how much control did Capcom give you over the comics? Was there anything you had to change or anything you couldn’t do?

Will the SF III comics reveal Qs identity?

Are a few of these TPB going to be back in print? I want to pick them all up to be honest, but the 65 bucks a piece for the first two volumes are kind of a killer. I was also reading that there were some side stories in the backs of the original issues, are these going to be collected in some kind of trade? I saw the ultimate edition, but 400 bucks is waaaaay out of my budget. If they aren’t going to be back in print, what are the odds that the next ultimate edition collects everything, maybe even that Darkstalkers trade that’s lookin nice but is 40 bucks as well?

Thanks again for your answers.

Yes. Udon even has artwork in it, a story where Crimson Viper fights Ibuki.

Other book Sano. The Viper-Ibuki story is from Enterbrain’s SF Art Comic Anthology.

Ah. Fairly sure this is coming here too - Capcom USA has the SF Rights afterall.

i don’t no if i ask this at all. In some point do you think that you’ll do a back story on Belial Aensland vs Demitri Maximoff battle.
