Ok, if you guys have any strategies for a specific character, lets hear some. Strategies for a specific matchup, then ask away. I’ll try my best to help. I’m not like really really good, but really good. My best character is Law, sencond best is Bryan. I’m trying to master Jin and Lee. I have a friend that’s SOOO good with Lee, and the other is Sooo good with Hwoarang, and the other is Sooo good with Lei. I don’t mean good, as in OOO WHOA u can do combos, not like that. I’m talking about they know their ways around every situation. They use Lee, Lei, and Hwoarang just like pros. Like Korean pros. As for my Law, my friends say my law is better than pros, so i don’t know  . I doubt it, but i take it as a compliment. Anyway, i was at the mall, just got back. Playing Tekken5 the whole time i was there. I had 15 wins, my other friends had 16 and 15. We were going against other ppl and each other. Really fun. The others weren’t newbs, they know how to play, but average.
Anyway, today, a friend of mine broke my rec, when he uses LEE. He would come in, then punch punch, then dash, then punch punch, then he’ll either hit low or up, so he could do that long ass juggle to get me to the corner, to do more damage. IT’S CRAZY!!! I REALLY NEED HELP ON BEATING HIS LEE PLZZ. My other two friends use Hwoarang and Lei, but i have no problem beating them. It’s just the one friend who uses LEE. He’s TOO GOOD. I’m 2nd best in my Arcade now. Used to be Number1, but he knows how i play now  . PLZ HELP ME how to BEAT LEE WITH EITHER LAW OR BRYAN, or BOTH THX IN ADVANCE.
GUYS, plz keep my thread alive. I really want to learn how to beat LEE. THX IN ADVANCE YOU GUYS. I know there are some PROS in HERE . PLZ GIVE ME SOME TIPSS
i say stick with the tekken 4 shit. use julia and her elbow shit semi infinite. as for lee. i dunno. i still enjoy tekken 4 more. they made 5 look…more classic
law or bryan you say? i’ve seen some good players use bryan, but he doesnt impress me as much as the characters. for law, he is an easy character to use, but not the best. i recommend jin, julia, or paul for lee. actually, anyone who has a reversal. but dont count on just that. use good techniques as well. try to just counter and know your opponent’s moves. thats what i think tekken is about.
That’s what i love about Tekken5. Tekken4 is too close up(the characters). Plus, Tekken5 is more fun to me, since a lot of ppl seem to be playing it like crazy now. Tekken4 is pretty much dead at my Arcade. Tekken5 is like 3 and Tag combined together. Plus, new moves(awesome looking), and more characters. Could anyone give me tips on how to beat LEE with either LAW or BRYAN PLZZ.
well for law or brian, like i said, ur gonna have to use ur reversals/parries. then counter with a quick and effetive move. i’d use law’s dragon tail or brians down d/f+3 to get your opponent on the ground. it doesnt get any simpler. bryan and law are hard to use against lee in my opinion. i still recommend jin.
I don’t think Paul, or Julia can handle Lee. Lee’s speed is too fast for Paul and Julia. I agreed you have to know good techniques, but you won’t be able to use, if the other person is on ure ass 99% of the times. My friend, that uses lee, he won’t let u move back, he comes to you. Paul doesn’t have that many fast moves, but he has a lot of powerful moves. Julia, she has average speed, but not powerful, but i can’t learn her right now, i dun have a PS2, so i can pratice Tekken4. ANy more tips would be awesome guys.
If i try to parry with Bryan and Law, i’ll eat a kick in the face, then comes the dash punch punch juggle, which will take half of my life. So, i don’t think that’s a good idea. I’ve tried playing defense, but doesn’t work. So far, being aggressive gives me a better chance of winning. Do any of you guys know where i can buy a PS2 for a really really cheap price? I need one really bad. I had two, but one was sold, and the other was given to my little sis.
Do any of you guys that play Tekken know any sites for Tekken4 or 5 matches. Thx. The only site i know for Tekken4 is Forgo. net., and Tekkenzaibatsu.
haha my advice would be to practice the basics with those characters but its not gonna be free from what i see…anyways, noone is invincible in tekken, trust me. if the guy repeats the same moves, watch closely for openings. if there are none try to make some. if you reverse a kick and he chickens that buys you time to recover and attack.if you hit with an effective move that brings your opponent down, capitalize on it. im not much of a bryan or law expert but it is possible to win with them if you have good timing and can see what your opponent is doing.
Decent Tekken players block that shit in their sleep.
To my knowledge, all Tekken machines in the US are running on dedicated cabinets. How are people reacting to the sticks/buttons that come default on these machines? I hear a lot of places have broken their sticks already.
The local T5 machine had its 1P stick broken within the first few hours of it being installed.
Ive just made it a custom to always take my PSX control. Luckily, no one has broken the controller port… Yet…
its not a semi infinite.
This thread makes baby Jesus cry.
ewgfx3 with kazuya yay or nay in this game? i’ve heard yes and i’ve heard it’s easy to do if it’s anything like t4 looks like i’ve allready found my character, also i have not played it yet but how is yohsimitsu has he been beefed up at all, oh and lei?
Yoshimitsu is hella nice on this one. He has a command shoulder charge move that you can cancel into the Indian style sit if it connects. Hes got a new Helicopter stance with fast moves, and he has two other powerful attacks that are hard to describe.
I just now read this thread. Theres a lot of ignorant stuff about what characters can beat who in this thread. Tekken amateurs obviously :karate:
Well, when the cabinet was brought here, the right stick wasn’t working, but all the buttons on the right side was fine. So ppl bring their controller for the right side. Now, it’s fine, both sides are good. But, ppl tend to use their own controllers, than the joystick. I use the joystick, my friends use their own controller.
I have found a way to stop Lee’s punch punch, then dash. Well, what i do is when he does punch punch, then dash, that’s when i crouch down then poke him out of it. That’s all i got from watching my other friends went up against the one that uses Lee. I don’t think i’ll be using Bryan against Lee anymore. His speed just doesn’t match up with Lee. Law on the other hand, has the same or maybe a little faster.
Yoshimitsu seems pretty nice. Too bad Tekken5 is not our for consoles  . I don’t use him much, except once in my Arcade against some kid. All i did was all the 10 hit combos :lame: .
Lei is very nice in Tekken5. As i’ve said earlier, i have a friend who uses Lei like a pro. You gotta see to believe. The other uses Hwoarang like Majun(or majin, not sure, sry). But maybe not as good as majin though.
Anyway, thx a lot for responding to all of my questions you guys. I know i’m a newb, so i apologize. If you guys know any other strats to beat lee with any character, then post them away. If that means having to learn every charac to beat Lee, i’m down. :karate:
You can beat LEe with bryan, you just can’t run in their and try and trade attacks with him since Lee is much faster. With bryan you have to set up his attacks with a little distance, and definitely use the variety of his combos for mixups. Bryan is great at punishing mistakes.
