A buttload of people have been asking but nobody was replying, so I guess that’s a no. We’re all going to stay at the el-cheapo hotel Red Carpet Inn which is down the street from the Campus and people have offered to give us rides to/from the tournament. I would suggest thats the best course of action since rooms are only 40 bucks and you can probably fit 2-3 peeps in a room with no probs.
Okay, something is going on here…
…so I just tried to make a reservation at the Red Carpet Inn. I call and a woman with an asian accent answers, I tell her that I’m planning a trip for next month and I have a few questions. She sounds annoyed and says ok. I said what is check out time there? She says 12 noon. I said okay, well what would be the rate for a room with one bed, and also the rate for a room with two beds? She says hold and immediately puts me on hold. I then get the most annoying, blaring radio station I’ve ever heard in my ear. I stay on the line for a full 5 minutes (keep in mind I’m calling from Connecticut and this isn’t cheap) and then finally say fuck this, I’ll call somewhere else.
SO I call what Javi called his “best recommendation” the Houston Inn and Suites. I call and get 12 rings with no answer, then the phone disconnects. What the fuck? I redial and get a woman who sounds EXACTLY like the woman at the Red Carpet Inn, same asian accent, but she answers something like “BIG INN, can I help you?” So I thought I had accidentally redialled the wrong place, and hang up. I wait 10 minutes and call back, and the same asian woman answers and says the same thing. I said “Is this the Houston Inn and Suites?” and she says “yes.” I said "ok then, I’m planning a trip for next month and need to know if a room is available."
And she says, “Ok hold.” and puts me on hold again before I can reply. And THE SAME FUCKING RADIO STATION AS THE RED CARPET INN PLAYS. WTF?!?!
What the fuck is going on here? Is there one annoying asian receptionist for every hotel in Houston or something? Nobody wants to take my fucking money tonight and I’m about to punch through a wall.
I’ll take some matches up in 3s.

Rides will be set up for most out-of-towners. I will get everyone to post up their flight time, etc. when it gets closer to TS6. A carpool system will be put in place. So everyone shoudn’t have to worry about getting rides.

if anyone can house me for this event from the 16th to the 20th, or 17th to the 20th, whatever, let me know. This trip is too expensive for me to stay at the Hilton alone. If someone can house me i wouldnt mind coming.
And i’m talking about someone who can stay out late night if needed. None of that “my mom wants us in bed by 3am” shit.
If someone could tell me where the 4 hotels on the website are relative to the arcade (the one hosting 3s), that’d be cool.

Bush Intercontinental is IAH?
I’ve decided I’m going to make it to this tournament because C-Royd is coming unless for some reason work gets in the way. See you guys in Texas.

I have no idea about the situation with the motels. They didn’t give me too much trouble when I initially called them.
There are actually 4 airports that fly into Houston. More than likely you’ll be flying into either Bush Intercontinental(IAH), or Hobby(HOU). Hobby(HOU) is closer to the venue, Bush(IAH) is about 20-30 minutes from the venue. I’m sure we can find ways to accomodate either airport arrivals. Just post up when and where you are flying out here.
Almost everywhere in Houston is about 15-20 miles apart, its just how stupidly spread out the city is.
Planet Zero is about 20-30 minutes away from the UH campus.
The motels listed are roughly 5-10 minutes from the UH campus.
