Official TEasy Thread: TEasy Strike is here!

 no worries, it happens. Have fun!

It still is recognized every once in a while? Any luck with re-flashing the firmware? Does it successfully get flashed, and if it does is there improvement in the detection?

TEasy Strike = Round 1/2 TE’s
TEasy STrike S = SSF4 and Chun Li TE’s

Thank you for your quick reply.

Very rarely on my PC. I have not been able to connect it to my PS3 for days now. I have tried re-flashing the firmware but I don’t think it is successful I get: “Error opening HIDboot device: The specified device was not found” held start and everything but it didn’t seem to make a difference. Also no improvement in detection, seems to be pretty random.

Send me an email, I can get back to you a bit faster. Just for giggles, does it still work on 360? If you have no luck with flashing the firmware, and you’re holding START for a second after you plug it in and still nothing comes up I might just have you ship me the board for a quick RMA if you’re cool with that.

Email has been sent.

i am thinking of buying a teasy strike S for my chun stick but i wanted to know about how you swich it to ps3 and how you put the usb cables in the push connector if you can can you make a vid of you doing that cus i dont know if i am keep some copper out or just snip it from the 360 pcb and put it in their thanks

what should I clip the hole leads with

Hi Phreak, second time buyer going at it for another stick. And this time, a stranger problem than before. On ps3, my hp and 3p buttons (both) are switched with hk and 3k. In other words, the rows are switched on ps3. Xbox plays fine, and if it matters I tested super on 360, mk on ps3. Note that the lp, mp, lk, mk buttons work normally and are not on opposites. Here’s a breakdown:

-HP button registers as HK and vice versa
-3p button registers as 3k and vice versa

-I’ve got a Marvel 2 stick with a teasy strike
-USB connections are good and can’t be pulled out
-Force boot on pc turns up Dual Strike v3.20 with HK down
-Force boot on pc turns up Madcatz Fightstick TE with MP down
-Downloaded the firmware and ran update_firmware_atmega168.bat when Start was held down
-Can’t get the clip by the USB thing on the Dual Strike to close, others are secure

I’d check if its ps3 mortal kombat being strange and use super but I loaned it out to someone.

Any ideas?

It auto-detects the systems, you can technically force PS3 mode via holding LK on plug in but it should automatically find the PS3 and work on the system. I don’t currently have a video up but I think purplearms does show the use of the punch terminals.

Don’t strip the wires though, just cut the ends of the wire off that are covered in glue so you have clean ends but you should insert the insulated wires into the terminals and just push the orange tab down with a flat head screwdriver.

Flush cutters, you can pick them up at a local hardware store or order them cheap online. You can technically just use wire cutters but they’re usually too big and bulky, flush cutters are ideal for this job.

What pre-set button configuration are you using for 360 on SSF4, remember the MvC2 stick has a slightly different button layout than the Round 1/2 and SSF4/Chun sticks.

The PCB inside the stick is identical, but the buttons that the terminal block run to are switched for the MvC2 stick. I bet if you changed the quick disconnects from the terminal block to the buttons to match the other fightsticks you won’t have that issue anymore.

A quick test would be to change the pre-set controller configuration for SSF4 on the two systems to this:
360: Controller type C (I think that’s the one for MvC2 stick layout, double check)
PS3: Default, or controller type A (I believe, can’t remember, just hit X/Square to default it)

Wow, I can’t believe I hadn’t noticed that before. I bought a Marvel stick because I had plans to mod it and I liked the case/bezel best and never really played with it, didn’t notice it was different from my other ones lol. Why in the world would they switch it from the others I don’t know…

Anyway thanks for the help. See? Stellar product, always user error lol

sometimes, you dont even have to.

just order my teasy strike s for my chun stick i hope i dont butcher te stick dont have money for a new one by the way how easy is it to set up

i dont wanna discourage, but all the errors ive read throughout this whole thread, were user errors. i installed mine under 40 mins, worked 1st time. no problems, HOWEVER, i watched purple arms vid on installing a TEASY AND TEASY STRIKE about 3x each. carefully looking at every angle. i also read the directions, really carefully several times. if you just follow the directions, align everything right, it will work out perfectly. alot of people miss minor details. this gadget is beastly. i would say it is very noob friendly. i had no background on pretty much everything involved. i actually had to youtube real quick how to use a multimeter. i think ppl make accidental mistakes because they are too nervous to not mess the process up. i mean you are tinkering with a $160 stick. but you cant think like that. just follow directions carefully.

I agree with Sgvince22 above. I’m a total idiot when it comes to electronic hardware (software is another story), and i only had a minor problem installing it. Of course, it was a user error. I was so paranoid about damaging a component of a stick i just dropped $140 on, i didn’t have the punch terminals down all the way. A simple whiny email to Phreak later, and my problem was all sorted out.

To those afraid to install one, don’t be. The components of the stick are much tougher than you’d expect, although it’s still good to treat them as if you’re disarming a bomb. It took me about an hour and a half to install it, although the majority of the time was spent reading and re-reading the instructions, taking everything step by step and making sure i was cutting all the wires exactly when and where they needed to be cut. Someone who’s done something like this before probably wouldn’t take more than 10 minutes without breaking a sweat.

So, again, if you’re on the fence about whether or not to buy this, DO IT. If you don’t have the know-how or experience to handle a CHimp or Cthulhu mod, this is about as easy as you’re going to get. If you know how to work a screwdriver and scissors, you’re already half-way to modding your TE.

the most paranoid thing i did was to wear surgery gloves. cuz i was too paranoid that i might cause a short on my board and the teasy. and yes, probably, for other ppl, what they might miss is pressing the terminals all the way down. you gotta remember it makes a clicking noise.

when are you going to start selling the plug up LEDs and i just got a my teasy strike s in going to put it in tomorrow wish me luck

Give the first 3 posts of this thread a read… =D
