Official TEasy Thread: TEasy Strike is here!

Sorry - my terminology may be wrong - all I have is the TEasy Strike board - what I meant to say is that the functionality of the TEasy Strike seems fine, but the original Xbox functionality appears to not be working.

Hope that clarifies things…

No input lag that I’m aware of, and none reported. Purplearms has mentioned he’s going to do a start to finish video at some point showcasing all things, including updating firmware.

As for the cable? Not if you follow the directions. The only way to do otherwise is to perhaps pull the original cable into the stick and connect a new cut/cannibalized cable to the punch terminals.

If you just received it, that tells me you bought a TEasy Strike S. Can you verify you have an SSF4 stick or a Chun Li stick for me real quick?

I have the SFIV TE stick - not a Rev 1, since I checked that as well - bought in Jan 2010 - please tell me I didn’t buy the wrong thing :wasted:

Check the TEasy board, is it a TEasy Strike v2.0 or a TEasy Strike S v1.0?

If you have a Round 1/2 (look at the linked pics on my site, I updated it to make it easy for people) you’ll want a TEasy Strike not the S version.

If you got the wrong one I can just exchange it for you, no worries on that one.

OK - I’m officially a braindead moron - I just checked my confirmation e-mail, and I did indeed order a TEasy Strike S for a Round 1 stick - sigh - I’ll send the old one back ASAP, along with extra to cover shipping the new one (when you have them in stock), and an inconvenience fee for you having to deal with people like me who fail at reading - really appreciate you been so accomodating, and once again, huge apologies on my part.

Thankfully I have my backup Hori, so I can still enjoy MK9 when I get back home from work tonight

quad checked mine before clicking that “pay” on paypal lol

Were these the ribbon cables needed to use the header on the TEasy Strike board? I didn’t see them up for sale on the site. Were they sold out?

Phreak haven’t put em up yet. But yeah, if you’re going to get some Arc-Eyes and a sparky. Thats what you’ll need.

This is correct, I’m waiting until 32teeth, Purplearms, and I have everything lined up. If you want, just shoot me an email and I can have you simply PP me with an address to send a cable out to. I don’t want to put it up on the site just yet until we’ve got everything hammered out. I’ve also been really busy this week with other stuff as well so I haven’t had a chance to update the site entirely either

wuLFe - No worries, I’ll let you know when I get yours and send you the exchange.

Thanks. I’ll send you an email with my questions.

I’ll wait until everything gets finalized with the sparky.

Oh god, i knew i’d f*ck up the easiest damn mod out there.

As far as i can tell, i’ve installed it properly. The pins seemed aligned well (after the 20th time trying to set the sh*t), the usb cables are securely snapped into the orange tabs (although the red wire tab sits about 1 or 2 mm higher than the others), and all the ribbon cables are reconnected in their proper places (i minimized the number i unplugged, so i’m 99% positive they’re back in the right spots).

I’ve plugged the stick into the PC, and it’s “unrecognized”, no matter which button i hold while doing so, and even holding no buttons. The xbox button doesn’t light up at all, for the pc or the xbox, so i’m not even going to try it on the ps3.

Is there a way to try and figure out where the problem is coming from, either the pin connections between the pcb and the teasy, or the usb cables in the push-connections?

I’ve tried unclipping the PCB from the Teasy and only leaving the USB wires in the Teasy, but that doesn’t even show up as “unrecognized” on my computer. It’s like nothing is plugged in at all…

I guess that i should add that i’ve played with my fightstick on this PC before, so i’m pretty sure the drivers are installed. I also installed the Xbox360 wired controller drivers again a few minutes ago for good measure.

Another edit: I tried downloading the latest firmware (trying anything now), but after running the binary, it said the specified device was not found.

TL;DR:

Teasy + PCB = “Unrecognized” on PC + No Green Xbox Lights on Guide Button
Teasy alone = “Nothing plugged into PC” + No Green Xbox Lights on Guide Button

Y U NO WORK?!

Got your email, sent one back.

Well, it turns out my IQ is lower than a damn spud.

For anyone else in this thread with the same problem, Phreak told me to un-punch the USB cords to check them for bite marks. It turns out that 2 of the 4 wires weren’t properly punched, so it was causing debilitating issues. All i did was pull the cords out, get a little more slack, re-punch them, and i was golden.

Now i just have to figure out how to put the cover back one with all the wires i bunched up…

you mean like the wires arent properly punched in so theyre not making a connection?

Yeah. I had the punch terminals down, but i don’t think i had enough of the wire inserted into the slots, that’s why i had to strip some of the black wire sleeve to get some more slack for each of the colored wires. The second time around, i made sure i pushed all the wires into the terminals as far as they could go, then punched them with the orange tabs.

Once i did that, i was straight. Re-clipped the PCB, assembled the case, and confirmed that my stick now works with Xbox, PC, and Ps3.

Thanks again Phreak!

i got a question when it comes to trimming the 360 PCB. do i just straight up like cut it? scissors or with wire cutters?
also, im pretty noob when it comes to electricity, should i be wearing lets say rubber gloves, and not work on carpet? for static?

I cut them, the green, red, white, and black wires as close to the pcb as I could with small scissors I had in a nail-care set (girlfriend’s). I was incredibly nervous too, but it had to be done. As far as the electricity goes, as long as the usb cord is unplugged from the console or pc, you don’t have to worry about any kind of shock. Just remember to ground yourself by touching something metal before you start working to avoid damaging the stick with static.

I don’t think its a HUGE no-no, but if you work directly on the carpet, there’s a greater chance of building static when you move around, so try to find a kitchen or coffee table to sit at.

im talking about the lead holes. those metal things. instruction says clip em

i just ordered the teasy strike and it still does not fit in my se stick am i supposed to put in a different spot im confused as what to do now does anyone have picks of an se modded with a teasy
