Official TEasy Thread: TEasy Strike is here!

The corner clip? Yeah you press it in until you hear it click, there’s little wings that expand on the other side of the hole so if you can see it’s a little wobby just use your thumb/finger to rock it back/forth while pushing it in, you’ll hear the wings click into place.

I got my TEasy Strike installed today and it works great. I was hesitant to try a dual mod on my stick but this was really as painless as possible. I am running into a couple problems however.

I can not get the stick to recognize when I plug it into a Windows 7 machine. I get a message saying that it cannot find the drivers for the stick. I have used the configuration software and set the option to use the dual strike as a PC controller to the Enabled setting. Was there anything else I need to do?

I also can’t get the Xbox Home button to power on a PS3 machine when it is plugged into a PS3. All options work fine once the PS3 is turned on manually, including the Home button functioning as the Guide button on a PS3(e.g. bringing up the XMB, turning off the system, etc). Was there something I needed to do to enable the button to turn the PS3 machine on?

I read the first few pages of the thread and didn’t see any similar questions, I apologize if they’ve been asked before.
Thanks again for making such a great product, I’ve already told a bunch of my friends about it.

I don’t recall any wired peripheral for the PS3 being able to power the PS3 up. I believe that ability is reserved to SixAxis/DualShock 3 controllers only.

Yeah I’m still trying to get this thing aligned. I thought I got it aligned (several times) but I plug it into my PS3, and no navigation on the XMB. I’m trying to find the registry file because I accidentally held HP rather than HK when I plugged the stick into my PC

Thanks for the feedback, it’s appreciated. Doubly appreciated for passing the word to your buddies

As for your issues, the Windows 7 thing I don’t have an answer for at the moment, perhaps Mephisto might if he peeks his head into the thread. If not I’ll ask via email and see what he thinks and if there’s something extra needed on windows 7. I don’t believe there is, I’ve had other customers say that they’ve been using it on win7. You’re plugging in with HK held down, yes?

Turning on your PS3 via HOME isn’t available on the PS3 as far as I know. I believe they made a bonehead move and disabled USB polling while it’s powered down and it can only be done with the wireless controllers. If you run into it, the next question might be about the 360 turning on with HOME. This won’t be able to be done if the initial plug in is done while the system is off. If you plug in the controller while the system is on, and then shut it off…it will work then if you attempt to power up via HOME.

Well, wait now you may have it aligned just fine it might just require a firmware flash…let’s step further a bit though, leave your install alone for the moment. What happens when you plug it into your PC with HK held down, and then unplug and replug in with MP held down? Don’t attempt to test any further on the systems themselves, PC results are far more helpful.

Registry file can be found here: http://svn.combo-convention.de/filedetails.php?repname=dualstrike&path=%2FFirmware%2FReleases%2FDual_Strike_Name_Update.reg

Thanks for the file. But yeah, nothing at all happens when I plug it in with either one. And yeah, I unplugged it and plugged it back in holding HK the first time and MP the second time
The weird thing is, is that I didn’t even get a pop up on my PC saying that it wasn’t recognized…

mind posting up a picture of the install (board clipped in and everything) at a few angles?

Ahh my camera sucks ass at night (daytime as well, but not as much) so all I’m getting is white >_<

Here’s some pics. Not the best but I think they’re adequate… for cell phone pics lol

These 2 are the better of the pics though… Hopefully you can make something out of them :stuck_out_tongue:

Are you sure I shouldn’t just unclip it and retry?

Are you able to post up pictures that we can see? Your images & links above do not work.

Actually, what you should do at the moment is unclip the 360 board so that only the USB cable is attached to the TEasy Strike. Plug it into the PC by itself and see if you can get it to come up.

Double check the punch terminals and make sure they’re down completely.

P.S. That alignment looks just fine (looked like it anyway, the pics are down). I also wanted to double check that your TE ribbon cables were in the correct position. I had a customer plug them into the wrong connector spots and bad stuff happened. I think he mis-labeled a single connector, unfortunately it was an important one

Just plugged it in with the 360 PCB not attached. It (my PC) started installing drivers and then it just stopped and said “USB device Not recognized”. But I didn’t press anything down while plugging it in.
Also the punch terminals seem to be down completely. I gave it several tugs and the wires didn’t come out. I didn’t unplug any ribbon cables during the install only the little cable on the side of the PCB which I plugged back in any way.

Just ordered a teasy strike s for my chun li te. can’t wait til i get it all in. :wgrin:

grabs lawn chair lol.

Just packed it up and will drop it off at the PO when I go out for food tonight

Email me, it’s faster. I think the chip on it might just be b0rked if (by itself) it’s coming up as unknown, maybe it got shocked or something. I may have you just send it back so I can swap the chip on it for a new one.

Well I’m glad you told me that. I won’t have to keep trying over and over again now  I was wondering what I was doing wrong there.
So you want me to send the whole board to you tomorrow? Plus, what if the chip isn’t the only thing that has a problem? I imagine you’d check that though.

EDIT: Oh I’ll email this to you as well just in case you’re not checking the thread anymore lol

I plugged the stick into an old Windows XP system I had and it recognizes fine on that and on my Windows 7 machine now. Must have been something odd with my specific setup. Thanks a lot for your help again.

I cant wait to get my hands on one for my round 2. I’m watching your website and google mailing list like a T hawk (see what I did there?)

Please don’t hate me…
