Oh I’m not in the UK
Yes, the “extra” pin is the GND pin on the joystick, there’s only 4 pogos there to access the D, L, R,and U signals. USB connection sounds fine, leave that alone.
Technically, yes, but the top right one needs to be there. The bottom right one isn’t as imperative. So you could technically just take the bottom right clip and move it to the top left, or just pop a rubber band around it for now until I can send you more clips. Just send your address to my email: clayton@phreakmods.com
I’m still confused at how the alignment isn’t working for you, I’m assuming you lined up the back row and tried to just clam the board down? After that, are you just having issues getting the clips to snap into place?
That’s weird… I’ve no idea where I got that assumption from.
Perhaps if you say where you’re based then you’ll be able to find a local, kind modder who would be happy to help you out.
Thanks. I’ll try to get it in now. The main problem is getting the clips to get into place but also its kind of hard to mount my PCB on top of the TEasy because the actual fightstick case gets in the way. I’ll try to take some pics and upload them as soon as I think I’ve got it aligned Also, I have no pin on my PCB for XGUIDE, that’s okay right?
So I’m getting it lined up kind of easily now but the part where I have to set it down and clip it up is where things go wrong…
Is it worth going out to buy flush cutters/wire cutters?
Yeah, it takes a little doing, but that’s why I suggesting angling the TE upward a little when clipping them together, it helps. Also, when you say you have no pin on your PCB for XGUIDE, do you mean on the TEasy? Because no, that’s not right and that’s ENTIRELY a mistake on my end for not putting a pogo there. You can remove the RS pogo and put it in the XGUIDE spot for now if you want, you just need to pull it out with your fingers. Without a pogo in that spot, Home will not work on the PS3 side of things
Yeah, this is why I suggest clipping the through hole points, it seems like an odd thing to have to do but when clipping the boards together there’s a slight bit of vertical height strain that’s alleviated by doing it, and clipping them together becomes MUCH easier. If you can find a pair at the local hardware store, DEFINITELY invest in a pair of small flush cutters…they’re worth every penny and you can find them for pretty cheap (like $6 or so).
Let me know about that pogo pin, I’ll send a few out along with your replacement set of corner clips tonight.
Just chiming in to give big thanks to Phreakazoid (and of course those behind the dual strike) for this awesome mod. Even with zero experience doing any sort of stick modding, a few hours and a $5 pair of wire cutters later I had a dual modded TE!
And of course big thanks to purplearms for the excellent youtube video tutorials.
Oh I do have a pogo for XGUIDE. Sorry for not being clear. I just don’t seem to have a pin on my actual PCB for it, at least not one that’s in the same position as the one on the TEasy. I’ll try to get a pair of cutters to cut the tips of the pins.
Awesome, thank you for the feedback. Have fun!
Wait, I don’t understand, you should definitely have a spot for guide. Wanna take a quick snapshot of the underside of your 360 PCB?

Clip the spots circled in red, XGUIDE (Home), RS/LS are labeled
Thanks I just tried doing it a couple of more times. I seem to be getting it aligned pretty well and setting it down pretty stable, but I just can’t clip it. Especially the clips closest to my case. Those 2 are hard to handle because there’s only like a centimeter of space to stick my hand in
I’ll try to take some pics so you can see what I mean.
I hold the board down, clip the top two that are easy to reach my hand in and get, then use my screw driver to push the other two into place.
Hey Phreak,
Just wondering if the international tracking numbers update? It seems as though it hasn’t updated since March 02
International tracking for priority flat rate is pretty poor, it will usually update when it reaches the sorting facility but nothing further than that. If it updated March 02, that’s about the 10 business day mark and should be at your door in the next day or two I’d imagine. Sometimes Canada Post seems to really drop the ball.
Also, just as an update. I received word that my order of pogo pins and receptacles will ship on Friday, meaning I’ll probably be giving the fab/assembly house my parts end of next week. I should have more Round 1/2 versions available in my shop shortly after that. They say they can handle populating the receptacles, if that’s the case it makes my work a LOT easier, and in turn I might be able to lower the price for people.
Just got my order through.
I have to say that these are the most beautiful custom built PCB’s I’ve handled to date. The pogo pins are just… sex.
<3
Ok thanks! Nothing’s come in yet but hopefully it comes in a few days!
So I just clipped the pins on my PCB. But now they sort of look like smooth circles now. That’s how it should be right? Because in your diagram it shows them being shorter but still having a tip.
Yeah, keep me posted.
Yeah that’s fine, the picture was just a rough example.
Oh okay thanks But now it’s harder to see the pins getting pushed down lol. I have the top part of my stick resting against a pillow so I can easily tilt it. Hopefully I get it down before the weekend
EDIT: Oh btw the clip I put in is a little wobbly. Is there anything I can do to keep it to stay put. Just a minor annoyance. Oh and thanks for providing spacers without even me asking I was missing one.
