Official TEasy Thread: TEasy Strike is here!

Sure sorry, I should have been clearer. I will add I just reflashed the firmware and it seems to be fine again, so I don’t know how it “lost” it. But I’ll add the details of the problem again just in case someone else had it:

Works on PC fine, both modes
Works on 360 with both forced mode and autodetect
Does not work on ps3 via forced mode or autodetect

Fix was re-flashing the firmware.

Thanks again for the support, but I can’t help but wonder, how did I screw it up?

Crap :frowning: So no TEasy Strikes until the end of Feb… This sucks. I’m going to see if I can find one elsewhere.

Did you touch the electronics of your stick after it worked and before it didn’t? Then an electric charge could have caused it (always ground yourself before messing with electronics)… In rare circumstances this can also be caused through the USB lines (maybe you have seen little lightnings when plugging in a USB plug before) and similar ways. And then there’s always the slight chance to have a bad MCU.

No, after I finally got it aligned right the first time (remember, I had trouble getting it just right so I was happy as shit to have it on good and wanted every excuse to leave it alone lol) I left it intact. However the more I think about it, I do remember trying to see if the guide button would start the 360 while plugged in, and it sorta did. If it was connected last time it ran, and was not disconnected, the guide button turned it on. However if I plugged it in when it was off, nothing. Could that have done it?

That behavior can be explained by the fact that the stick is still powered while plugged in, even with the system not ‘on’ and running, thus the DS retains it’s state of leaving the 360 USB lines connected…which would allow HOME to start the system. However, unplugging will unpower the boards, so when you re-plug it in that state is no longer retained and HOME start won’t work anymore.

Is there anywhere else to get the TEasy Strike besides the site in the OP?

Not AFAIK. You’ll just have to be patient like the rest of us.

Unless you wanted to get a ChImp SMD board or Dual Strike v2 instead. But I suspect a TEasy Strike will be worth the wait…

; )

Alright, I hope it’ll be up soon

just got mine through the post today, do you have a link to the installation guide? or has purplearms managed to et a new video up yet?

Not yet, he’s going to work on it this weekend I believe. If you aren’t too antsy just wait until he’s got it up soon here.

thought id just go for it today and all has gone well, pc picks it up, xbox and ps3!

was extremeley easy following the steps on your site, only tricky bit was lining up the pins with the springs, took about 30 minutes for me lol…

one thing has happened tho, i can no longer turn the xbox on via the home button on the joystick (which is no big deal really)
just wondering if that is meant to happen after instlling the Teasy S S?

EDIT: it does work! just not if you use it on ps3 then try to turn the xbox on…

Issue

Hey Phreak.

Just installed my TEasy Strike and everything works fine for the PS3 but it doesn’t work on my 360.

Is it some kind of power issue since all of the buttons/inputs are reading through the TEasy board? I.E. the 4 led rings light up when I plug it into the 360 when it should be just the 1p ring.

Where can I pinpoint my problem?

I had the same problem. Try unplugging the power source of the xbox, wait a few seconds then plug it back in.

Is there an exact date to when the TEasy Strike will be back up?

will Teasy Strike work on my Blazblue TE? Thanks

Yeah, if you have it plugged into the 360, then shut off the system and then use the HOME button again it will work. You just can’t unplug it since it will lose the “state” it’s in that allows 360 communications.

Glad you’re up and running, have fun!

Hmm, so auto-detection isn’t working? Give it a few seconds to try, sometimes it takes a little bit, but you can attempt to force 360 mode by holding MP before plugging it into the 360.

As a second test, which really you should do this first is to test out the pass-through functionality on the PC if you have the 360 controller drivers installed. Try the 360 forced mode on PC.

Parts should be here end of this week I’d imagine, I know for certain they at least ship to me by the 22nd at the latest.

Probably, I’m just not 100% sure of which version of PCB is in that stick. If you want, just open the TE and take a snapshop of the PCB and I can probably tell you immediately which version of TEasy Strike you’d need.

So I did the tests and nothing seems to work. Tried unplugging the power supply and waiting. Then I tried the PC test. Plugging the stick into the PC, it recognizes everything and all of the inputs on the stick works. Plugging it in while MP is held down, the lights around the guide button light up, but the PC doesn’t recognize the stick at all.

So as with the 360, the stick gets power but it doesn’t want to switch to 360 mode.

Any suggestions?

ockS - You can try to re-flash the firmware, but I don’t think the PS3 side of things is the issue. I have 1 PCB at my house that has a similar problem but haven’t had a moment to look further as I thought it was an isolated incident. Let me poke around with that a bit tonight when I get home and see if there’s a simple fix for it.

One thing you can try in the mean time is to utilize the Dual Strike configurator and de-activate auto-detection, put it on pass-through as the primary function, and as an extra precaution disable all other modes except PS3/PC if they’re active at all. I’ll do the same myself tonight.

Ok part two of the video is recorded and is currently uploading. I started the upload last night before i went to sleep but it had failed when i checked this morning, so i restarted it before i went to work. Hopefully it will be up by evening (my internet upload speed is brutally slow… thanks Rogers)

I couldn’t do an install from start to finish because I don’t have a fresh TE stick. So this video is meant as a supplementary to the original “Teasy in under 30” videos, highlighting the differences between teasy and teasy strike, and how to work with the new features.

My appologies for the delay… here is part 2 of the 3 part series
