Official TEasy Thread: TEasy Strike is here!

well that was easy. took about 30 minutes and it’s all working. the hardest part was retrieving the spacer that dropped into the case. thanks for the quick shipping and good product!

I got mine today and installed it. It took me a couple of tries but now it works. Thanks!

Just ordered one Phreak mate! really looking forward to installing it, swapped out buttons and ball top earlier with a blue bubble top and yello/blue simitzu buttons!

then roll on the solder-less LED mods!!!

Got one and was dying to try it, had a little trouble trying to get the pins to behave and line up right, probably took me about 6 tries actually. However it is still crazy easy, and simple to test. Works great, thanks man!

Amazing product I’ll have to check this out. I’ve got an extra T.E. 360 PCB sitting here so I might as well try this and install it in my new case when it’s done

I’ve got an idea I like to go over with you as well, let me know if you’re interested. I’ll send you a PM

Yep coming soon! Keep an eye on the arceye2and the sparky thread!

Any Videos on how to install the new TEasy Strike ?

Sounds good man, I believe Lostcase had one of your awesome cases and was going to do the same with my prototype as a matter of fact . I’m down for whatever you have in mind, love working on new projects so send a PM whenever

Purplearms had a few issues while recording his initial install video so it might be a bit, but for now the install is pretty much identical to his original videos except there’s no Dual Strike to mount and attach, you just attach the USB cable and you’re done.

Also, to everyone else who’s posted up feedback, thank you a bunch and I’m really glad you’ve all had good experiences. :china:

I’m actually running short on some pins at the moment until my manufacturer goes back to work tomorrow. Might have to put up an out of stock message for a week until that gets rectified but we’ll see, gonna make do until that becomes a serious issue.

Phreak quick questions about the mod before I install it: I don’t have to strip the wires at all right? Like cut the jacket either from the usb? Just snip the usb from the 360 pcb, clean it up and place it in the punch terminals right? Also what tool can I use to trim the through hole leads?

I’m a total modding noob and this is my first mod to anything ever lol so thanks so much.

Would something like this work well for trimming the through hole leads? Amazon.com: Xuron 170-II Micro-Shear Flush Cutter: Industrial & Scientific

I’m having issues deciding which tool to order, I don’t really get the difference between the various flush cutters and diagonal cutters available. I know this is kind of off-topic for the thread, and I apologize for that. I’m hoping to find a good tool that will work well not just for this job, but for any future modding I might do.

The good news is that you dont have to strip any wires with TEasy Strike. Just cut it from the board, pull off the black shrink wrap from the ends of each individual usb wire, and the black heat shrink wrap thats covering the 4 usb wires are coming out of the main black usb wire sheath… theres enough length there to insert into the punch terminals without having to strip the housing anymore… all you need to do is to pull some more usb wire into the case itself and re-wrap around the center post, just like I did in the original Teasy install video…

Sorry i couldnt make a new video yet to show this… Still looking for a virgin 360 TE in the Toronto area to do this… any takers?

Nev - Yeah those look fine, any inexpensive flush cutters or diagonal cutters would work just fine. You don’t really even need to order a pair, I’m sure you can find a cheap pair in a bargain bin at the local hardware store too. I myself use the ones on this page: Online Product Offering TOOLS FOR INTERCONNECTS & WIRE the HWS1057 ones.

Ponchis - See Nev’s link

I ended up ordering the one I linked to. Since they give me free shipping it ended up a lot cheaper, even though your suggestion looks good as well :). Despite me not clipping the leads yet, however, the board continues to work perfectly! Thanks for an excellent product and some great support.

Hey i got the teasy, only problem now is that i cant seem to clamp it down on the teasy flaps? Help please

E: Hey so I got it to work on the 360 and ps3! Nothing comes up when I plug it into the pc and hold a button. I’m using a mvc2 stick so HK is rb and MP is Y. Is everything good or do i need to do something else?

On PC you have to press HK once on plugging in until the drivers are installed - after that nothing has to be pressed on plugging in. On Windows you can check if it works by opening the game controller applet where an entry “Dual Strike V3.2.0 (PC)” should exist (or “[…] (PS3)”, see here). You might want to have a look at the documentation which is linked on the Dual Strike Overview page.

Check Mephisto’s answer, but also a quick question. Do you have the drivers for the 360 controllers installed on your PC? If you don’t, holding MP to force 360 mode won’t come up with anything. If it works on the 2 systems I have no doubts it will work just fine on PC, it’s just a driver thing most likely.

Heh I may have spoken too soon, but mine’s acting up now. Works on xbox fine, on pc both tests come up fine. I had it working on ps3 earlier, despite quite a few tries to get it lined up right on installation. However now when I plug it in the ps3, the guide lights, all 4, just blink and its dead otherwise. If I boot it up while plugged in, nothing. I’m thinking I must have botched something somewhere, but it was working 100% on ps3 just a couple days ago. I have a TE-S stick and a Teasy Strike S board, to clarify.

Forgive me, but just so I know the current issue:
It works on PC just fine in both modes.
It works on 360 via forced mode AND autodetect
It does NOT work on PS3 via autodetect? Does it work with LK held down (that’s PS3 forced mode)?

If that’s the case, you need to re-flash the firmware in the link listed in the OP in the “Post install” section. If it works on PC/360 just fine, stop unclipping/reclipping. Leave it alone, because if you keep on doing that you might accidentally align it wrong and really have an issue.

Try re-flashing the firmware by downloading that update package, hold START while plugging in, and then run the update_atmega168.bat file.

Are you still currently out of stock of the TEasy Strike?

I just put the out of stock message up last night after having to scramble for parts. I literally have 1 TEasy Strike S left until I get my shipment. I got word today that it won’t be to me until close to the end of the month though, so I don’t feel right taking orders when I can’t fill them out until I get those parts :frowning:

Damn holiday really put a damper in things, oh well, such is life. It gives me time to research and work on my next project though.
