Official TEasy Thread: TEasy Strike is here!

I’m a bit confused. If i want to dual-mod my 360 stick so that it works on a PS3, I need both a DualStrike PCB and a TEasy Strike? How much is that all together?

No, with the old TEasy Mod you needed both, now the TEasy Strike carries both parts in a single board.

In short, to dual mod your 360TE you only need the TEasy Strike, which is currently $50 + shipping. The board purplearms posted is a solution for original TEasy Mod owners that wish to expand to more than just the Dual Strike

Nein.

The TEasy Strike already contains Dual Strike technology, so that’s the only board you’ll be needing. Just make sure you order the correct version depending on what edition TE stick you have.

If you wanted to go through the extra effort then you could order a basic TEasy and also a V1 Dual Strike board, but there’s no reason to do that anymore.

Phreakazoid needs some serious worship.

Serious tings.

Awesome. I get paid on friday so I’ll put in my order then.

Cheers!

Just Curious Phreak, will the TEasy Strike Firmware upgradable? Or will it come the latest dual strike firmware as is?

Upgradeable. It currently is shipped with the latest (v3.2) installed and tested though.

I should probably make note that this FW version allows autodetection in the OP I suppose.

Which firmware pack does it take? Atmega8, Atmega168, smd?

Received my TEasy Strike today. I’ve never done any stick modding other than replacing the plexi, and this couldn’t have been any easier. Even got the alignment right on my first try! Everything is working great on both systems. The punch terminals were also a really awesome addition to the board.

Now that I know how to do this (and got all that goopy crap off of the screws and terminals), it would probably take me less than 10 minutes to install everything.

Great stuff Phreak.

You’ll want to use the atmega_168 pack.

Glad to hear it! Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it. Have fun, and of course tell your friends

^ Thanks.

So it will also have the other advantages of atmega_168 over the original atmega_8? Such as full MAME support, not having to hold down the ‘start’ button during updates, etc.

Also, is the 168_smd.bat pack needed or just plain old 168.bat?

Yes, it sports all of those features.

plain old 168.bat, while this is full smt components the FW for the 168_smd won’t work with the TEasy Strike.

Cool.

You don’t stock the DS: SMD version, do you?

Got my TEasy Strike S in today. Despite it being my first mod ever I got it in in one try with no major difficulties. Seems to work perfectly and I’m extremely happy with my purchase.

Not normally, you’ll have to hit up Gummowned for those.

Awesome, glad to hear you’re up and running. Have fun!

Sweet. Thanks for clearing that up, went a ahead and bought one last night. Hopefully it comes in before MVC3 drops!

Just put my order in. I look forward to installing and testing it out.

Installed it super easily after overcoming the fear of cutting my USB cable away from the PCB. I did have a problem with it though. After I installed the board I tried to do the whole press Hard Kick when connecting it to your computer and nothing popped up. I then went to my PS3 and tried it and it works perfectly. Is there an explanation as to why nothing popped up?

let me get this straight i no longer need a dual strick it is apart of the teasy?
