Yes it works if you look at them as more than a righting game and a RTS. Competitive games need both balance and depth no matter what genre it happens to be in if they want to maintain a lifespan and popularity among the masses as those said games have enjoyed.

This is the best PvZ match that I’ve ever seen. Hoeja plays Zerg the way I think that race should be played. In this game his zerg was better than anything I’ve seen Jaedong, Savior, Luxury, Julyzerg, or even Yellow play ever. Watch and learn.

p.s. and if your gonna wait for starcraft 2 to come out you will probably be waiting about 9-15 months. Just play the campaign and learn basic mechanics, then after that, play vrs the computer on lan settings, then after that play noobs on west on python or something. i rarely go to channel srk on bnet west and if you see me ill help you out.

He’s right. It doesn’t require a CD-Key. The original SC does, but since the expansion requires the original, they didn’t put a CD-Key requirement for it.
Anyone else here into the use-map settings stuff? They bring a completely different game. I think my favorite is varieties of Sunken Defense. It can be annoying when you’re in bad streak with too many newbs joining though. I noticed people let me download maps more and are nicer when I’m logged in under a girl’s name, which never ceases to amuse me.
Knowing how much my friend enjoys the Custom Maps in WC3, it makes me really look forward to SC2. The really fun maps won’t be made until later, when people come up with custom map editors though.

At first, it was just mass 6v6 games, were the middle was filled with tomes and creeps.

I fucking hate speedlings. I have to take all my SCVs off minerals and micro them so they make a wall between them and my single marine? God, that’s so stupid. And hard to pull off. Sometimes SC is just really, really irritating.

Well, not speedlings, I guess. You know, just standard early-game 6-ling 9 Pool rush. It’s not a cakewalk for Terran, because certain wall-ins just don’t work, using SCVs to block a ramp is kind of pointless, and it eventually comes down to whether or not you have awesome micro. Which I don’t, because I’m a n00b.
If your map requires him to take a ramp to your base, then land a barrack to cover (and lift before zerglings can lower to red health) and gun down with marines. You should also have extra barrack to speed up production early on if you’re getting rushed.
Sounds to me like you’re so focused on tech that you don’t really make any units aside from SCVs to mine/gas.

When you create, there should be a box somewhere, make sure to check it, it says opt in for betas or something.
Getting into the beta is a lottery of the account tickets.
Letting everyone at SRK know decreases my chances because there will be more accounts to choose from as SRKers make accounts but I’m just godlike like that :rolleyes:
Also, Koreans have been testing the game for over a year already, videos should be on the internet, check youtube.
