well they gonna need to extend the beta to test the new network code. and see if theres more bugs. this is just to fix the online play component. I wouldn’t read anything into, concerning release date delays

It was a nightmare trying to get a game online today. Kept crashing and shit. Glad to see they’re fixing it.
I’m really, really happy to see the improvement in net-code that video showed. The more I played the current beta and compared it to GGPO, it just wasn’t stacking up at all. This video gives me some hope that the final game will turn out well.
I know the continual delays on this have been painful, but given how buggy the beta was(Yes, I know it was an old build) and the crazy Ken stuff, I’m really glad they’re taking their time with this. Essentially, this is going to be the last game in the SF2 series. So, I’d like it to be rock-solid.
Huzzah, things that should have never made it past a single build are being fixed! Maybe they’ll use the extra time this gives them to think up more things to have fake moves for.
We get it, you don’t like fake moves. What’s the big deal? Ryu has a fake fireball, and Bison apparently has a fake slide.
i like fake moves; they add another layer of psychology into the mix.

The best netcode for a console fighting game… That’s not saying anything.
The netcode is actually okay. And I’m sure it will get better after the patch. But reading those two blog posts on how they originally tested it, and how they’ve completely dropped the ball on at least even TRYING to talk to Ponder, just has me shaking my head.
They’ve really hyped the netcode for SSFIIT:HDR, so if it doesn’t deliver in every way, of course I’m going to give them shit.
Leave it to SRK to bitch when problems get fixed.

Take as long as you need to make this game fantastic, capcom. We may hate it now, but the more this baby gets tuned, the happier we will be when it gets released.

Fake moves are probably the best way to add another element to the game theoretic possibilities in certain situations, or to make moves/tactics that are easily exploited more viable. The fireball one might be too strong or it might just be the extra move Ryu needed to get on tier with the Boxers/Sims. Time will tell.
It’s not a big deal, however since Sirlin only responds to certain people in the thread (and PM)perhaps the best way to make sure your post hasn’t been missed is to repeat yourself ad nauseum.
With regards to the fake fireball, i like what it brings to his close up mixups.
With speed US FS2 as default, fake moves wouldn’t be so problematic.
Mocking his decision to put fake moves into the game isn’t exactly the best way to get your criticism heard.
Has Sirlin really given special attention to anyone here?
It’s silly to piss on them over the netcode - yet. They’re going to end up having two betas to test the thing, which is unheard of in the console world. And to give us the best console netcode yet in a beta on an download game, while big budget games like SC4 shit the bed on release is pretty impressive. When you’re working for an international corporation on a highly closed system you can’t take the same liberties as a guy doing shit in his spare time on an open platform. Not to mention the whole issue of IP, royalties, and corporate red tape that may be part of the issue with Ponder.
And to put it in perspective, what’s got better fighting game netcode than SFHD so far?

Ryu fake fireball is great for a shoto. M.Bison countless times I always thought damnit if only I could control the distance of Bison’s slide it might be of some use. I don’t like the idea of everyone getting fake moves, some characters do not need such things at all.
Fei Long would of been a good character to have one, fake rekka which would actually just be a dash, but the new chicken wing should be more than enough.
Regarding fake moves, i’d hate to see a lot of the cast gain them. I think it’s best if only 2-3 characters have feints.
