Nope. Charging in ST is longer than 3s and what would there be to partition it with? There are no dashes. Charging just doesn’t work the same way. You lose your charge when you stop charging, it doesn’t store it in increments. Not to mention different moves have different charge times, i.e. Psycho Crusher and Scissor Kicks.

0:06 in this vid, is an Akuma DP supposed to do that much damage?

Apparently Akuma is going to be “fixed” in HDR. He was a broken boss in ST, and Sirlin says he’ll be playable as a normal, non-broken character.

IDK what how he intends to fix Akuma, but it looks like Akuma dishes out twice as much damage as the other shotos but take twice as much too; Ken’s Hadouken did twice as much damage to Akuma as it did DeeJay in the video, unless my eyes are foolin me

but again, I’m just speculating, Akuma could be his normal broken self in that build

EDIT: oh, I didn’t notice Sirlin is RIGHT THERE, can you explain what’s going on with Akuma in that video?

Not a fan of Sim’s new stage. I really like how it was handled in the Udon comics and was kinda expecting to see it looking like that. Without the mural in the background it doesn’t look like a temple anymore, more like an elephant parking building.

Still, only a minor gripe in whats looking to a be a fantastic game.

Did anyone else noticed the boxes breaking on Guiles stage in that vid? :wonder:

Thanks Sirlin. FYI I loved the new footage. HD backgrounds are dope! T.Hawk changes are “interesting” to say the least, I can’t wait to try him. Also I didn’t notice any changes to Dee Jay at all…but I’m ok with that. Would have been nice to see someone actually try to play Vega who knew what the hell they were doing.

Also Sirlin, any idea why all of the STHD footage being put on Youtube from E3 is being taken down? It’s odd that anyone promoting the game would make a copyright claim.

I think it’s youtube just messing up. I checked a video once and it was fine, later it said no longer available, and then later again, it worked fine. Not sure what’s going on there.

Haha wow, nice catch. SPD-level damage for a simple juggling antiair dragon punch is pretty crazy. Wonder whether you can continue that juggle with another dp or a hurricane kick, even? Akuma hits Ken with three attacks, a crouching jab, a dragon punch, and a jumping roundhouse, and Ken has 40% health left.

Sirlin, what was the reason that this game didn’t show up at the SFClub thing in LA Friday night? I heard it was due to something with the sprites, but that was just a rumor and doesn’t sound super plausible. Any official explanation?

I don’t know if the correct way to go with Akuma is by simply making him even more of an “eggshell with a hammer”. Would make his matches very momentum-dependant.

Wow, what a commendably frank and yet weak answer. I’m really glad that whoever Thoth talked with answered him truthfully (and I’m always glad when Capcom helps keep us in the loop), but I mean, this game has gone wildly over its originally expected time frame, and yet it’s not good enough to show even in a situation where everyone knows it’s still being worked on and not to expect perfection? I’m glad we got an answer, but it’s not exactly one I was expecting to get.
