LOL, that reminds me how boring my geography class was

I hear the guy in the video talking about canceling wall dive, but can you see it anywhere? All I see the Vega player do is a dive without pressing punch.

Interesting consequence of Hawk’s better dive recovery is that he can get hit by fireballs even if he hits the opponent. I guess that’s good?

Looks like the fancy projectile effects have been toned down a bit.

I think claw does the fake just when the guy randomly films off the screen. As for the hawk thing, i think he just does it at a weird time, deejay only just released the fireball. I don’t see that happening often

Is there going to be a lvl select online in the final version? If the netcode is similar to ggpo then stages with more animations going on in the background usually lag more online, most notably chuns stage in a2. St is the same on ggpo. It usually runs a little smoother on ā€œblandā€ stages.

Just seen the video with stage select in vs mode. It’s probably going to be available online also.

Akuma vs. Dee Jay

Well, that’s proof that akuma’s air fireball doesn’t take meter.

jesus, why is it so fast? and i appreciate that they’ve listened and toned down the fireball dissipation effects, but why are they not gone entirely? they STILL look like crap!

whoa, akuma bounces off his air fireballs. That’s different from the combo video build a few months back. I might have to take that comment about his demon being too weak back. Even with his air fb trajectory nerfed and low stamina and a weak demon, seeing him in motion makes me think he’ll still be very strong. I think an air fireball in any shape (nerfed or not) will always be very dominant in ST especially on wake up.

also he has mad recovery on his red fb.

How come hawks stage is populated by super human giants? lol. I’m sure they’re the same size in ST but because of the new clearer art style they look hella bigger.

Heh yeah, Hawk’s stage’s background guys are pretty gigantic, although that might be just because of the aspect ratio used in that vid.

I’m really surprised that the game got so far in development without anyone noticing how fast it is. I mean, it’s really fast. Looks like the people playing in this last vid manually turned up the speed or something.

Heh Akuma’s red fireball starts, DeeJay starts roundhouse upkicks, upkicks finish, DeeJay walks toward Akuma a bit and then throws him, all without Akuma recovering from red fireball yet. Looks like a pretty good character otherwise.

You could get punished before if you didn’t use the proper dread kick for the proper character…

I understand the change kinda, because sometimes it was IMPOSSIBLE to land both hits (Blanka, Sagat, Bison, etc) but I’m not liking the current trend of making everything work against everybody.

Ken’s DP, DJ’s dread kicks, etc… In ST you had to use certain attacks and stuff to make sure it connected to not leave yourself open… now though? Fuck it! they all work! Just do the move! It will always knockdown, and score safe hits… no thinking involved! Just do it!

Nevermind only trying a certain reversal… try them all! piano ALL those buttons! They all leave you safe if they connect.

…and WHY are they being removed from youtube? wtf. it’s not a copyright video or anything. It’s not like anyone is losing money from these videos… or is it the user removing them? why would they do that? the whole thing boggles me.

I’m curious to know why Vega gets that ā€˜fake’ wall grab - I overheard someone on one of the YouTube videos (Seth? sounded like his voice) say that the wall grab could be canceled with d+kick, and without any accompanying nerfs, it seems odd to give him more options. And this is coming from a dedicated since CE Vega player. I’m scared now to think of what might have been done to him. =( Oh well, can’t be top tier in every game.
