Meh, after initial revulsion, I guess I don’t think Vega looks too crappy. In my opinion he looks awful in the first screen shot on that site, but in the third and fifth shots he looks significantly better, presumably because it’s a shot of a different point in his neutral animation. Hopefully it looks better all together in motion. And so I don’t sound too douchey, I think Hawk and DeeJay look great.

nothing miniscule about a bicep on the wrong side of his arm:shake:. that’s why he looks lumpy. t hawk looks really good imo. best one so far

It seems like they tried to make Claw look ripped and not buff, but something went awry in the process.

The thing that mostly the size of his traps. It makes him look like a hunchback. I think the rest of it is from the angle. I mean, I’m sure it’ll still be a little weird looking, but it probably enhances the effect. But I can deal with a little weird.

I always thought Vega’s height was kind of skewed by the way he stands, on the tips of his toes.

Do you think, at a major news event like E3, they might have announced WHEN SFHD is coming out? I would hope before SF4 and the new year, but nothing has been confirmed.

i think they drew in his shoulders way too much, he seems way too hunched up. other than that, i can’t wait to be clawin’ people in the eyes.

Vega looks fantastic.

Thanks to that gif I’ve finally figured out what’s bugging me about the Ryu/Ken sprites (besides the fact their faces are not a direct profile shot): it’s the detailing and the contrast between the shading.

Their torso and legs have nowhere near the level of detailing of the old sprites which is odd because they’ve done Hawk, Dee Jay and Akuma to real high standards. Just look at the shot with neutral Ryu next to Vega and compare the detailing - it almost looks like they’re from separate games!

Strangely, it doesn’t seem to affect all sprites though: Ryu’s mid-crouch against Vega and Ken’s airthrow look really good…perhaps Ryu and Ken still WIP??

Anyhow, despite this the game is looking awesome especially Hawk who is easily winning the Predator award by far.

Part of the problem, at least from these shots, is that the camera is washing out a lot of the shading on them. It’s much better than the photos make it out to be.

Vega/T. Hawk look better because they are both visually more interesting characters, so the shading washouts aren’t as detrimental.

I have to agree…the forearm anatomy was throwing me off a bit. Otherwise, the Vega sprite looks cool overall imo (including the line that alludes to a fem crotch).

Unlike Sabre, I do stare at myself in the mirror and I do care about anatomy. :wink:

Edit: with the “lumpy” complaint btw…wth is that supposed to even mean?

Looks good. Cleaning up the weird bicep-like line on the back of his arm does a world of good by itself.

By and large, the newly released art looks great. Should be fun to see it in motion.
