Official SSF2T: HD Remix General Discussion Thread

nah if it was just mind control input, then it wouldn’t feel fun, it would feel like a
controllerless POKEMON game.
“Cammy, I chose you!”
“No, I was thinking Cannon Spike! not crouch!”
“Argh…why are you stripping? oh wait, I was thinking about that!”
“Cannon Drill again!”
“aw this game registers my thoughts too slow.”
“my head hurts”
“gah. what happened to the good old days?” :razzy:

but technically there was a single input game, it was called Capcom vs. SNK 2 EVO or something like that for gamecube. in the special mod, the C-stick automatically does special moves and super moves tilting to a specific direction. easiest
input system in a console fighting game ever. it turned into a special spamming fest, though.

Great post you summed it up perfectly. The sad thing is there are at least 10-15 turbo pas users on hf and those are just the ones I know about so as much as it would not be a big deal those players migrating to sthd would make it that much more attractive to avoid ranked matches entirely.

To those who don’t think turbo pads give that big of an advantage go play xohmygodx’s st boxer on ae:rofl:

That’s just because there’s only a couple of fighting games for 360 so far. Once SF4 is out, there will probably be an explosion in both 3rd party controllers and custom sticks. Do you really think it would be a good idea for Capcom to code SF4 and HD Remix so that you couldn’t use a custom stick? The community would be outraged, and rightfully so.

turbo controllers are impossible to avoid/detect/ban just like it’s impossible for a PC game to avoid being pirated (without the consumer suffering from the extra security)

the only way is if it’s a real tournament like EVO where turbo controller users wouldn’t DARE set foot inside.

but I’d take the advantage of playing this game online everyday over playing at some arcade that only lasts an hour or two, or having to take a plane to some tournament that only lasts a day or week in a year, and having all this noise drowning out the experience. :stuck_out_tongue:

turbo users are like people who talk trash. a online community has some of them, but just
stick with the good ones, mark/list the bad ones, and you’ll be fine. as for ranked, it’s
very inaccurate gauging who’s really better on ranked matches alone. even without
turbo users,
there are always those who play good, but after they hit the top 10, they
quit or avoid people they can’t beat. there’s loopholes everywhere when it comes to
leaderboards. and I assure you the ones that reach the top 10 are not necessarily the best,
or unbeatable. and those are the people who see less of because they don’t want their rank to drop.

so it’s better to not treat ranking like it’s the final say of who are the best. some people
tend to overdo it, but they are missing out on a lot if all they depend on is ranked.

I know we’re meandering because of lack of new game info, but there’s way too much though effort being put into how to stop cheating when it’s never going to happen. An automated system cannot prevent itself from being “gamed” or “played” by those that want to abuse it. On top of which, there’s no way to discourage people from being asshats online. In a perfect world that would mean the avoid feature actually worked. In reality it means build a friends list of people you like.

I hope Ranked doesn’t become standard, because I really like the quarter match feature.

This absolutely ridiculous. Footage and interview from E3… making front page news on Capcom’s site. WTF. This isn’t even NEW! Just some fan site (SFD = :arazz:) interviewing the producer, getting answers to questions we already know. This is pure bullshit. It is like me shelling out newspapers to people with the 2006 baseball season as the main feature on the front cover. What is with Capcom and this game? The least they could do is show us a nice new trailer or some direct-feed footage of the GS tournament.

This is just plain stupid.

As long as the pcb came from a controller that’s not banned for a certain game, i don’t see why there would be a problem.

if x controller is banned, and someone made a custom stick out of it, there’s a slight chance still that they added turbo buttons. if they didn’t, lesson learned, use non-turbo controllers for hacks.

lol wtf …how big are the tribes men in the background compared to the characters in the foreground :looney:

Hey dude, I’m guy who recorded the endings - I’ve FINALLY posted them to youtube. I’ve added the ending text in case it’s too blurry. Enjoy!

Ryu ending:

Guile ending:

edit: Looks like I’m a bit late!!! Sorry for taking so long!

thanks no need to apologize. great work. I won’t watch teh Guile ending though cause wanna avoid spoilers lol. Ryu doesn’t count as spoilers cause his ending is so typical. great art, though.

this game looks like it has the best endings in Street Fighter HISTORY!I mean look at all the art they put into Ryu’s ending alone.
6 pieces of high quality art. that sure is a massive improvement.

Haha. One of the most popular line of prefab joysticks these days are the HRAPs, which have turbo switches on them. Not saying they will use them, but the option is there…

Thanks anyway

They REALLY need to use different colored text to differentiate who’s saying what in the endings

I think Capcom’s people deciding what’s allowed to be shown and when, are worse than the people at Konami and Sega. but still, this blog proves that
within Capcom there is some effort in at least posting SOMETHING HD Remix
this week. So this seems like the most they were allowed to release was this,
which is nothing, but kinda something.

Only relevant info from this new blog interview (few months old anyway):
“SF HD Remix is coming soon!”

I thought it was the exact same ending he had before, been awhile since I beat the game with Guile though.

Sagat Scar is one of the official 12 achievements

http://www.streetfighterdevotion.com/archive_rey.php

basically finsh sagat with a Dragon punch

it’s the same text, but in the original, there was only 3 images/art.
but technically two cause the first scene reuses Bison and Sagat’s sprites. but the rest of the scene is pretty original.

they were
animated but of course the HD Remix version is better and shows more angles and stuff. but I did like the original’s red screen and seeing Ryu pan into view and out of view.

so yeah I didnt peek at Guile’s new ending but I’m sure it has much more new art like Ryu’s new ending. **it’s the same story concept but the presentation is a totally different world. **

Seems to me that they are just linking a story that someone finally got around to posting on their blog. The E3 embargo was lifted a long time ago, it’s not Capcom’s fault it’s just getting posted, they’re just mentioning it on the blog.

Gotta admit to really looking forward to this game now. Liked the remixed music, which surprised me.

Hopefully I get to give Capcom money for this soon- I think that’s everyone’s sentiment. We’ll all be enjoying this for a long while. I just want a PC port eventually so I can play this in the retirement home when I’m old and can’t even do a DP anymore.

It’s too bad we’ll never get an HD Remix of A2.

lol A2 already looks fine as it is. but lol it’s funny the HD Remix ad is on capcom unity and it’s been saying “coming soon” for months now. but maybe within a few weeks, the Duke Nukem Forever type jokes will cease and the real blog updates will begin.

I’m just shocked there has been no videos of Cammy in action yet!!! >_<
