almost right, most of the cast needs to be buffed so that the game is more balanced and most can compete with others, but yun does have problems like easy meter gain, deceiving active frames on palms, frame advantage on block with a move that can juggle into ultra 1, gets you in close for 1 ex bar, pushes into the corner etc. has hitboxes on both sides of his body on a move that attacks with on side. a dp that on whiff, cant be punished hard by most of the cast.

Buffing the characters Fei had trouble against in Super should be enough of a nerf already, right?
Well I dunno, like I said it was about 4am when I typed that and I was practically nodding off whilst typing it. I’m just trying to think of SOMETHING, especiallyl in Fei’s case. Lowering his damage output or health obviously isn’t the answer. Making him unsafe on stuff doesn’t really work either because then he doesn’t really have the tools to initiate offense otherwise.
Also, to the notion of buffing Fei’s bad matchups: Yes, this might work. At the same time however, if you buff those matchups, what happens to those character’s matchups against others in the cast? You’ve gotta be careful before you just start tossing buffs around willy-nilly. Not that I think that the approach of buffing Fei’s bad matchups is a bad idea necessarily, but caution must be exercised when doing so or you might wind up creating more problems than you solve in other places.
Looking at Yun’s frames. it just seems absurd to me that he basically has + frames on just about every move in his arsenal. He might as well have training mode auto-meter fill on as well with as easily as he can build it.
BUFF Dan my favourite character and counter culture shoto yet more or less off limits unless you have amazing judgement. He needs something quiker dan kicks, better air moves, i dont want the projectile changed but please for the love of god,
No one cares about ryu n ken anymore capcom, got 2 mates and they got the game to play Juri and T-hawk leave nerf Ryu & Ken to low tier guile land, people will always still play them and tiers aside they need to be toned down anyway, too big damage, to little skill
HAVE faith in your new characters capcom and develop something new and fresh without the constraints of Ryu & Ken being at the forfront.

We all know Dan’s the best character in the game. HOWEVER
Ryu and Ken doing too much damage for too little skill?? What are you talking about? Ryu’s zoning is getting easier and easier to deal with. Kens just an all around type guy thats very well balanced. Akuma is the strongest Shoto in this game, and he takes great execution and knowledge.
Ryu and Ken are not the forefront. We saw one Ryu in the top of Evo, and thats it I believe. Oh, and it was fucking Valle.
Every characater needs to have their strengths adjusted accordingly till they are, Id say, Akuma’s level of balance. Itd be some slight nerfs for the best of the best and minor to solid buffs for everyone else. Yes, even Ryu, Ken, and Guile.
I have like 30 buddies that play this and they play all sorts of the cast. No one will just pick Ryu and Ken, everyone will pick whoever they feel they are best with.
Yep, but everyone’s still on the cry baby train asking for nerfs when this character didn’t get much of an overhaul from SF4 until now. Still blindsided and not asking for legit buffs for everyone else. No names but if you’re reading this and you’re thinking “fuck Feilong, stupid moves, etc etc”, then that’s you I’m talking about
Feilong has always played similarly like this since SSF2. His chickenwing is not as useful in SF4 than how it is used in ST but there’s more of an emphasis on rekkas and safe HK/EX Chickenwing mix ups.
Be glad Feilong doesn’t have a safe full rekka string or safe chickenwing string.

Spoiler: you can’t cancel out of jump animation in st like you could in sfiv so motions are kinda hard.
Also, I’d love to see some beta versions of these characters make it into another SF4 game if it ever come to fruition.

the only trimming he needs is EX Lunge should not be safe. Maybe neutral at max range. but otherwise unsafe.
He shouldn’t fly so far after HK Upkicks.
Height restriction makes sense on divekicks, he has an alternating trajectory with them.

dont forget meter gain reduction on whiffed palms, he builds meter fast as it is and he can whiff palms for easy meter.
and his shoulder move should have hit boxes on the attacking side only, its pretty stupid he can hit you with both while someone like juri can do ex pinwheel or ultra 2 which spins around and seems like it can hit you from both sides, yet only hits you with the front side.
I think what he meant is the distance which the rekka carries you during the three hits and not the knockback. Besides, even if the knockback were shortened we could just increase the recovery on Fei’s side to make up for it.
On an unrelated note, palms should not have an AA trade hitbox. Fucking seriously.
Why do people want ex lunge not to be safe? why not just make it travel slower/not as far so he can still use it from 1/3 screen to get in, but loses it as a half screen option?
dont you love getting hit with that counterhit that blows you back, takes off a shit ton of damage, gives him nice meter, and then he spams it more for more meter?
Because we don’t want him to have an option to get in from 1/3 of the screen that breaks armor is safe on block that combos easily into ultra/lunge and is safe on block that has a good hitbox and is safe on block that recovers instantly on whiff and is safe on block that is airborne so you can’t hit it with lows and is safe on block that easily option selects backdashes and is SAFE. ON. BLOCK.
why reward failure? he did a special move and we blocked it, why should he be at the advantage?
Lots of characters have special moves that are + frames on block. Ones they don’t even have to use meter for.
You might as well make it -30 if you make it -3 because at that point the yun player is just going to combo into it anyways.
I dunno maybe I like playing vs. good characters?
Are you forgetting that Yun has a command grab? You can’t just give a character that has throw/blockstring/command grab/divekick mixups a get in move that’s + on block. And breaks armour.
