yangs dive kick already has a hieght restriction, and is slower than yuns
this leads me to believe youre speaking on things you know nothing about.
not to mention the standing light kick being over powered in your limited opinion. its silly on sagat because it gives him more dangerous a mid range while he is already good at long range. leaving it controls too many spots on the screen against too many characters
yang has to fight up close. stop being stupid. you cant transpose move properties from one character to the next without regard for how the character functions as a whole
Can’t you read & understand what I said? I said Yang’s dive kick has more +frame(crossup on wakeup in the video) than Yun’s, that’s it. I didn’t say Yang’s has no height restriction AT ALL and faster than Yuns… But that doesn’t mean his dive kick is worse than Yun’s

Hsien is top 3s US player, and he plays in arcade since AE launches. The US sample is not representative cause many of them don’t even go to arcade. You know this thread is about defending your character, D_dollars is just a perfect example.
Compared to VSagat I wouldn’t consider it no risk. Yang’s S. LK is comparatively low range and he also doesn’t quite have the specials that he had. VSagat could cancel it into a fireball to gain space or an advancing +F armor breaker to make you sweat. Yang gets rekkas which are -Fs outside of a FADC stuff. Admittedly in the corner this can get Fei-ish but as far as a free shot in the footsie war, not so impressive. S.lp I believe already whiffs against some crouchers. Maybe not at PB but slightly outside it no longer works on Chun I know at least. Still a very strong move I’ll admit.
Its a +4/+8 normal for 4 frames.
Y’know I was looking at that sentence for like 3 minutes trying to figure out why something like that should exist. But I guess the reason I can’t hate Yang is because he has a more than one sentence game plan. Yun wants to get in and hit you a lot. If he does so [or doesn’t] he gets the meter with which he will very much kill you. Fei wants to corner you. They do this without regard to meter or life totals or even character in some cases. They’re just the best at what they do and so they will do it with only slight variations. Yang is more of a decision tree. To get more dmg he needs to burn meter. To advance he needs to use his decent, really, footsies. His failings are comparatively small when compared to the rest of the cast, but they do exist and are very real. We should be applauding this design honestly. I think I’ve said this before, he is very much top tier but a very beatable one.
Yes, I didn’t type it specific enough… should be “increase divekick height restriction”. I assumed the reader should know theres a minimal one on Yang, and this is something everyone can test at home.
Someone just said V-Sagat’s lk cancel is stupid… that wasn’t as safe as Yang’s, lk>shot can reversal in between, lk>knee there’re moves can dodge for example, Ryu’s cr. mk. whereas Yang’s case, is completely safe, -2 on block probably only Zangief can punish
I should be meeting Onochin face to face this Saturday. As I live in tottenham where the riots started, I took the liberty to go out and get signatures for a petition for a safer community, well thats what the over head sheet said, once removed the text underneath reads, buff the twins even more, make guiles sonic booms travel shorter, also increase the amount of time it takes to charge backwards. If you punch evil ryu at chest height your fist should get stuck in hist chest, you are both locked in that position till the time runs out, kinda like dogs mating. Finaly and this is the most important one, we do need to more characters to add, and they should be base don ryu and ken, but there fireballs should be green, people are bored of blue fireballs and this would add years of added gameplay fun, if they can’t add the 2 new unique characters, then every character without a firebal and dragon punch should be given that type of move to there repatoire.

the only thing you can do between the LK -> Knee frame trap/pressure was DP or other risky reversals… Which was a nuts Decision/guess. one empty stand LK led to Sagats unrelentingly powerful punish combos.
Yeah, yang’s s.jab might require some nerfs…+4 on block, +8 on hit, almost never misses crouchers and has a crazy range. That and some palm nerfs that jun should also get. mp palm is fucking fast considering his hitbox and active frames
Nut decision? I don’t think so. This game is about reading your opponents mind and bad habit. Don’t forget some characters cr.mk can dodge knee (Ryu, Chun)… that was never consider as complete safe block string. You can also stand block knee to make it unsafe in the right distance.

yang dosent get free pressure. he dosent have some fast 0 on block special to allow him to bully his way inside, and outside of st.lk and cr.mk, none of his mid range normals cancel into anything. you take away his cancelable st.lk, and you severely limit his mid range game.

You know what? Ryu should be the new yun. He needs a divekick (completely safe on block that are always ambiguous), super as his new fireball, meterless FADC, a 0 frame startup command throw that can’t be thrown, cmk that extends to the entire screen, DP FADC Ultra instantly does 1000 damage, and a fully invincible shoryuken that’s +1 on block. All Hail the new Top Tier!
