Official SRK Ultra SF4 Rebalance Request Thread

Yeah, yeah! Pretty colors! Sparkly! Shiny even! All for you! Have fun! Bye!

So why did you let them off the hook?

you know, on second thought, if they reduced yuns damage and stun output, it would justify his safe all day offense and relentless pressure

not sure about what would need to be done to make this happen, but if his bnbs only did 160ish, and his non genei jin big damage topped out around 230, id be ok with all his options

i don’t think the hitbox alone contributes to this. yun st.mp also pushes him further forward ( unlike yangs ) which is why he can repeat that scenario over.

Yang is much easier to pick up and make good than Yun is. Yangs moves are way safer in the sensehe doesn’t require the precise spacing Yun does.

Don’t get me wrong. Yun is scary in the right hands but it takes some skill to make him that way. Yang’s moves are much safer out of the box including his dive kick.

Hello? you PLAY TO WIN THE GAME, you don’t play to just play.

loyalsol i respect your opinion but i entirely disagree with you on the point that yang is easier to make good than yun. if so, how come nobody is really is doing anything with him in usa? the people that tried to pick up yang is still leagues behind japan in yang tech ( same for yun, but yun has seen better results ). also, yang also lack the derp bs that yun have such as retarded ex cmmd grab range, no derp lunge for free entry. and you also much sacrifice damage to just get positional advantage while yun still nailing 200+ with positional advantage. and yang will barely, ever have meter since he needs fadc to break 200 damage for an risky reset while yun can just sit of meter just cause. so i don’t see how you feel this way.

Well, yes and no. It seems to me that Yun does take a lot more risks, but they are very small risks. It seems like whenever Yun is at risk he is airborne, so he is rarely taking a big punish on his mistakes. Meanwhile if the risk works out in his favor he goes into full bnb. This lets him create his relentless pressure opportunities.

Yang on the other hand has safer tools but seems to have to work harder to create his opportunities. He might be better than most of the cast in that regard but still has a rougher time of it than Yun on account of the inferior dive kick and specials that aren’t really optimal for approaching. It seems like if Yang messes up on the approach he is more likely to be eating full combos than Yun.

Just my take on it though. I could be wrong.

well, i’m just commenting on your divekick comment. i wouldn’t exactly say it’s worse. infact, i prefer yangs dive over yuns for the simple fact that his dive is more safer and also have a bit more hitstun meaning we don’t have to aim low as possible like yun to hit our links. i agree with everything else you said though.

yun is much easier to pick up and play. you can get good mileage from fei on 2 hit rekka confirms, crouch fierce and DPs

out of the top 3, yang is the hardest IMO

Fair enough.

I still think Yang’s execution barrier is greatly exaggerated. Except for the odd timing of rekka FADCs and the super there isn’t anything particularly absurd about him. In my opinion he’s better than the rest of the cast, but worse than Yun and Fei. He relies more heavily on frame traps(which is nice with his similar to Yun style frames, his close lp being a really winner linking into almost every other normal), tricky ambiguousish cross ups, and his insane corner pressure with s.lk xx rekka confirms and DKs. His ability to turn anything into a side/side reset can also make matches a bit on the frantic side as well as being able to land both ultras for two bars off any combo. He’s definitely…very strong. Unlike Fei/Yun however there are no freebies since he does well in both of their ranges but excels at neither lacking the great cmd grab mixups/anywhere high dmg combos of yun and the far reaching fast normals/specials[c.mk always feels just SLIGHTLY too short] of Fei so at least it never FEELS BSy. I feel like he has insanely scary potential, but with Yun around there’s no compelling reason to explore it.

shrug, he’s not particularly balanced but as far as “I can live with this” goes he’s right up there. I’d give him the palm nerf and call it a day really. I’d also like to do something about the EX DP so it wasn’t such a fireball killer, but I’d think it could be let go for costing a meter.

Yang is more well-rounded than Yun even though he doesn’t have that burst-damage. Guess what, if they just nerf Yun, everyone will switch to Yang, and the game will be imbalance.

i agree with almost everything you said pretty much. i don’t know about touching ex dp though lol.

Yang nerf:

  1. nerf his palm, hitbox, damage, as well as the meter gain
  2. nerf dive kick, put a height restriction, nerf the +frame
  3. nerf invi during wake-up (this is more like a bug…)
  4. nerf ex command throw, remove the throw invi
  5. nerf standing lp, can’t hit crouch opponent
  6. nerf standing lk cancel, this is just as op as vanilla Sagat’s standing lk

I can come up more, Yang is just op as hell~

please shut up man.

You shut up if you can’t counter my point lol

Yo

what point? the only legit ones was wake up glitch and palm meter nerf. anything else is just trying to destroy yang so you can have an easy time beating him. like really man? might as well just nerf ex tele while we’re at it ( even though it can be beat ).

lmao don’t act like you know nothing, all Yangs are abusing these shit, maybe except noob Yang like D_Dollars lol

  1. nerf his palm, hitbox, damage, as well as the meter gain-- Yang’s palm is even more powerful than’s Yun’s, just simply ridiculous, nerf is necessary
  2. nerf dive kick, put a height restriction, nerf the +frame-- Yang’s dive kick has more +frame that Yun’s, fast come out lower than 3s, don’t forget some characters are unblockable on wake-up, if Yun’s needs to nerf divekick, so does Yangs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TqhdDjlHvw
  3. nerf invi during wake-up (this is more like a bug…)-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LzurjG0dXE
  4. nerf ex command throw, remove the throw invi-- why are the twins SO POWERFUL? because they are godlike in rushdown AND they have a command throw!! A “throw-invi” command throw… wtf is this, Capcom may as well delete Abel
  5. nerf standing lp, can’t hit crouch opponent-- I don’t see Capcom’s logic, they take this away from boxer, and give this to Yang… who else can do such bullshit in the cast?
  6. nerf standing lk cancel–this is just as op as vanilla Sagat’s standing lk, and safer & easier than Ryu’s cr. mk>fireball…
