changing c. strong to combo into itself on counter hit would be a 1 frame buff so it’s +1 on hit and -2 on block. That also stops it from being super sure that you can shoryu after a block cr strong; easy + frames. I’m off the deep-end? Are you kidding me?
Rose doesn’t need anything out of BNB; EX Spark to cr. strong is and option and 2 frame link; but cr. fierce ex spark, cr. fierce ex spark, crouch strong spiral is too good for 2 bars of meter.
The creators wanted a game that revolved around top tier; and they got that; the players want STREET FIGHTER, keep Rose the way she is and give her wake up options to get out of mix-up pressure, because she’s hopeless against some characters on knockdown; one of the worst in the game has to take super unnecessary risks.
Soul Spiral invincible would leave it up to properties; why would we leave Chun Li to have a better backdash anyway? Lower stun in trade for U2 won’t matter; you will NEVER see Rose stunned; I never saw her stunned in Super anyway.
Just the EX Spiral buff and the buffs I had mentioned earlier would keep her a BALANCED character; but comboability and the ability for high damage AND a get out free ultra as well as one of the best set of normals for footsies and one of the best set of normal properties in the game (great anti air normal -> who else has a move that’s in air during a normal that’s +0 on block AND it beats low attacks).
Wish I had something new to add to this thread that hasn’t been said already, but I’ll just add my own novice opinion based off of who I’ve played with.
I would like to see the original cast reset to their Super status (with the exception of Ken and Rog). I main Balrog as he’s a very solid character, and has been messed with very little over these 3 iterations so I can’t really complain. For Abel, I’d like to see his forward MK -> dash -> s. HP have maybe one more frame to connect? I’m no scrub, and I practice that link regularly, but it’s a friggin’ BASTARD to get out. And I don’t plink, since it doesn’t seem to really help me, I just practice the timing. Other than that, I actually like Yang where he is (No need to add anything more about his palm that hasn’t been said). One thing I would like to see, and this could be out of line, is have Chun get +50 more health. She already has above average stun, and Makoto is rockin’ 1000 HP; Why can’t the First Lady of SF get a little health boost too? Also, wouldn’t mind seeing Honda’s U2 be a 1f grab again.
Like I said, my in-depth SF knowledge is limited, so I can’t throw anything crazy out there (not like the more seasoned/delusional players can, and have) but these are just a couple things I’d like to see in the patch.
ok, so i like makoto and all, but can she lose that strike invulnerability on her ultra 2. i mean if rose has to give up her free escape, shouldnt makoto? and yes i know like 7 characters can punish it on whiff, but most cant if it isnt predicted.

mmm I have mixed feelings on this, then it would be like yangs U2 and get hit of start up which is always a sight to behold. It also serves as her single solid way out of corner pressure as her somewhat lacking range on fast normals and somewhat slow speed on long normals becomes more evident. It would just make the yun/yang/fei match that one guess[up from 0!] more annoying. The conjuction of that and its awesome speed DOES create that painful situation when you can try a meaty against her and it punishes that hit. I guess it would be really annoying to lose, but yeah it doesn’t make a lot of sense given the speed.
In my opinion all the boss characters besides Akuma should be buffed along with other low tiers keep everyone else the same.
Gouken is suppose to be at least high mid tier come on capcom. Make his ground tatsu have the same start-up and invincibility frames as Akuma’s dp and improve the range/recovery to similar values to a standard srk. Improve his normals similar to other shotos and give him the ability to combo into sweep. They should fix his ultra 2 and make it unblockable. Give him back his overhead divekick no more nerfs.
Oni should get his ex teleport and be able to fadc his srk on block. Improve his normals and he’d be fine he already is a decent characters just kinda gimmicky. Evil ryu needs better normals maybe like super ryu so he can make use of those damaging combo’s he has. Give seth back his ultra 1 from super and his yoga sniper.
I think the charge characters were overnerfed. Put Vega back to his super lvl. Balorg and Guile can keep some of their nerfs but I think their specials and ultras shouldn’t of been touched at all.p
Buff Hakan’s health to 1100 and improve unoiled Hakan’s normals.
Fuck that. I’d rather they make him actually good this time. His Super iteration was easily his best showing in the IV series, but he still wasn’t any more viable at a high level.
As a Gouken player I just want to say no thanks to turning tatsu into an SRK, I’m fine with recovery so long as we can’t be punished AFTER hitting with it.
He can combo into sweep.
He only needs to normals improved by a frame each imo and one the ones improved to be made special cancellable (again imo).
Ultra 2 being able to juggle off air hits would suffice for most Gouken’s I believe. If they do nothing to it, we wouldn’t be the only ones with a nigh useless Ultra.
yes and no. I believe he had only 1 7-3. Well that number is irrevelant, but in terms of dealing with the higher up characters, he could deal with them rather well. Except for that one character. Cosmic heel was that good of a move.
he had that momentum based offense in Super, which has been king since Vanilla.
Speaking of which, its silly that it isn’t projectile invincible during the dive I mean other than using the move as her one escape the only time you use the move is to get in against fireball zoners. Nothing like having it stuffed by a high tiger shot mid dive lol.
