execution level is never a good way to balance a character
My idea of changes for T.Hawk
- Extended downward hitbox for his Standing Roundhouse.
- Regular Condor Dive having further pushback when blocked.
- Regular Tomahawk Buster having faster startup as well as improved hitbox.
- Regular Condor Spire having faster startup as well as being safer on block.
- EX Condor Spire -> Raging Slash (Ultra 2) possible as a link.
- Fix the Raging Slash (Ultra 2) Input.
Fully agree with this. I think it’s best to leave Fei Long, Yun and Yang as they are and to just buff every other character in the game so that they’re able to better compete with them. Many times nerfing is just counter-productive and nobody likes it when their character is less viable. The game should be enjoyable for everyone playing it, even for the people who are using the best characters in the game.
Guy’s Bushin Elbow Drop does not link to c.lk(3 frames) on standing opponents but does when they are crouching. Would love to do a fierce bushin elbow drop cross screen against a fireball into a hit confirm + target combo + Ultra 1.
By the time you hit your opponent with the elbow and reach the ground he has already recovered. I’ve tried linking with c.lk in training, can’t do it. I have linked a bushin elbow drop but it was a weak elbow.
The regular Jump elbow drop does link with 3 and 4 frame moves against standing or crouching opponents.
Good morning.
I still don’t understand how you guys can call Akuma ass when he’s still one of the best characters as well.
All I’m reading is people complaining about other top tiers when they get hit by them in games. Regardless of skill level, this is still looking like people whining about their characters as usual and not really any constructive opinions on whether or not to balance the game.
It’s like, hey I’mma pick my favorite character and bitch the way to 2012 because 30% of the cast “beats” him up free and I can’t let anything else happen to him.
Regardless of how the game turns out, there’s always gonna be a “bad guy” top tier when you crunch numbers and make listings.
sorry i missed all that fei jazz last night.
anyway, someone asked for his weakness.
its walk backwards with someone fast- fei cant space a safe rekka if your character has good foot speed, because his own walk speed is ass. you may think thats shallow, but walk speed is a big deal to a character basing his game on footsies. if you have good foot speed, youre probrablly a charge character. fei having to walk foward into a safe special is a definate problem
also, just down back.-fei’s over head does 60 damage. one rekka might be 15 chip. and with him being bottom half of the cast in walk speed, he isnt going to be able to walk up throw without being really obvious
BTW akuma v fei is a 5-5. so even if his pokes and shit are amazing, its still an even match
A million times this. Fei is top in AE because of the nerfs to other characters. It’s like people forget he barely changed and suddenly he’s too much, just like Viper.
If Fei is left untouched and his bad and good matchups get buffs, he won’t be top anymore and all will be fine. If we nerf him AND buff his matchups that he’ll go back to being shit like in Vanilla.
I hope they nerf Yun into the ground.
-
I hate his hat
-
His play style is way too auto pilot

Out of all the characters that could have been the best, they had to pick some punk with a damn skateboard. I’d rather see Blanka be the “God” character, yeah that’s right, I’d rather an annoying green mutant chimp be the best character in the game than this chump.
My dream is that one day, every Yun match looks like the Poongko vs Daigo match.
Feilong damage is fine, of course. It´s totally normal that flame kick fadc cw deals almost 300 damage, for example.
obviously that damage needs to come down on flame kicks and CWs. i also think close fierce could drop to 90
those 3 moves give him too many 350dmg+ combos. they should also get rid of that 9 character death combo for 400 meterless
You mean his one link off cmd grab?
The st. strong xx fierce CW, st. fierce, rekkas?
Shit works on Rose and it’s not meant to be in the game. They need to get rid of that, but it’s been in every game :/. It aggravates me how I’ve played a better game with better meter management, and he gets a random cmd grab on me because there’s not much to fear with the some of the characters and he makes an almost comeback + corner pressure afterwards.
That’s what strays it away from being a match up in someone like Rose’s favor; instead it’s 5-5 :(.
That’s fine and I agree, but if you walk backwards at all Fei is putting you in the corner with the first successful rekka.
I think it is fine that Fei reduces most opponents to playing footsies with him because as good as Fei’s footsies are some characters can hang with him in that regard. The trouble comes when Fei is also dictating the spacing because the opponent has their back to the wall.
I think reducing the amount of knock-back on the third successful hit of rekka is the smallest change that can be made to Fei that makes some of his matches more competitive without nuking the way he plays.
Mr X: Yeah, still though, I stand by my original point that Fei is still good at pretty much every aspect of the game aside from perhaps hardcore zoning. Not calling for tons of Fei nerfs (would rather see the other guys get buffs) but either way I feel that point is a valid on. He doesn’t really have a glaring weakness like most of the cast.
Mike: That’s a slight rough spot, yeah, but not nearly anything like some of the cast have to deal with when it c omes to THEIR weaknesses. Again, not saying Fei should be nerfed into the ground, just pointing this out is all.
This has been getting quoted a lot and the more I read it the better and better it sounds. It might be more effort for capcom to buff all the charcters instead of nerf them but that’s only our problem if we do nothing about it.
I really like this idea. Get on Ono. Twitter him. DAILY. Something as simple as… “Ono-san please make all characters as strong as Yun and Fei.” just as an example. I really like the wording that Mr.X chose as well, "not much of the cast excels at what they should be excelling in anymore" this is what pretty much hits the nail on the head.
In a way this is why I am an advocate for Ryu to get fireball traps back…at least he’d excel at something again. Even though I hate Yun with a passion, If every character were as good as him I think I could deal with it. Maybe capcom just needs to not be so scared of breaking their characters and just try and do it…break them a little…see what happens.
This also makes me think of CvS2, which I have been playing again recently, The “Top Tier” in that game is pretty big.(just go look up Buktooths post in the CVS2 forum; no point to discuss cvs tiers here) There are lots of options and it made the game really fun. Still to this day one of the most modern feeling of the old school fighters and part of that is due to the large and viable cast. They all have some really good shit.
So I think that’s my personal vote. Give everyone really good shit.
Omg this.
They can leave Yun and Fei alone, just give me back Super Honda.
Super was much more fun for Honda players, Abel players, Rufus players, Chuns, Bisons, Balrogs, Ryus, Roses…all these nerfs are fucking RIDICULOUS. These chars were not over powered. Give us back our shit CAPCOM.
Super was so balanced that there wasn’t even an obvious best character. Hell, there wasn’t even a clear top 3!
i think viper and fei long need some nerf
not huge ones but some nerf for sure.
There really is a question of how. If you leave these guys as is remember that you’ll probably never get to throw another fireball again. So characters that relied on that are out. The twins also rape characters with no good reversal option. So there’s that too. Fei is the best footsies char which will stay as long as his hitboxes are bizzarely extended. I would actually say Viper is technically more BSey on offense, but she has other failings that make up for that. What happened to the rallying call that this game is SOoooooo much more balanced than Super if not for the top 3. And instead y’all wanna go the long route around and buff everyone up. Screw it right? Let’s make it so everyone has lights that go into 200-dmg combos. Ryu’s c.MK doesn’t compete with Fei anymore, lets buff his so it does. About the size of the life bar should be good. Too many moves go through fireballs. Lets make them BEAMS. Sim can’t get away from excessive pressure. Teleport should now go outside the TV so he can take a breather. Man this game is gonna be sick. Can’t wait.
I agree with buffing everyone up instead of nerfing. It would make the game much more fun. Most characters feel pretty bland right now.
well, youre pretty much in the corner anyway after he lands a rekka. and obviously some characters can take better advantage of walking back than others. being that they can do something safe and it will move them foward.
characters walking back and higher damage all around was actually the basis of most of his bad matches in super and vanilla. but when everyone loses their damage and fei can still do shit to get into the upper 300s, just walking away has less of an impact. he just corners you, lands a command grab, and takes back whatever life advantage he lost while walking you down
in the other games, characters could take more of feis life away while he was on the way in, or they could do more damage through FADC guesses once fei was on top of them. i can remember trying to apply the same corner pressure on sagat or ryu in vanilla, only to eat half life combos if i pressed them at the wrong time.
as it stands now, most fei players know all they have to do is be patient until your back hits the wall. they know they can get whatever they lost back in a very short amount of time, so the game plan becomes very simple. corner with rekka. command grab into 300+. lame it out
fei will drop right back down to being mid tier, and losing to almost every charge character if the damage comes down on his heavy hitter combos. fei has always been able to dictate the pace, and force people to corners. the difference between shitty fei and S tier fei is damage
The biggest nerfs to those chars except Ryu was the inclusion of 3 chars who absolutely did everything they did better.
You go on about this almost everytime someone mentions buffing other characters. Do you like making exaggerations or do you really want people to believe the BS you’re spitting out?
Look if you buff Dhalsim and Guile, how in the world does that make the game more offensive? A lot of characters have options to avoid fireballs because that’s just how SFIV was designed. I’ve listened to Seth K. himself talking about how the average viewer is not going to appreciate fireball zoning in this day and age and how frustrating it is for a new player to feel completely helpless against Ryu’s fireball trap or O. Sagat’s fireball or Guile’s zoning in ST. This is a different game but that doesn’t mean that it’s not SF. There’s zoning and there is certainly defensive play.
Fuudo himself plays a more defensive Fei Long rather than an offensive one and it shows because he spaces everything correctly and controls his ground. That’s Street Fighter. You are not going to see Marvel combos from everyone if they get some buffs that will help them survive in this metagame ok?
