imo don’t nerf the twins, fei long or viper to oblivion, here’s changes I’d like to see. I’d like to see capcom take a more reserved approach than previous games. the game is already “fresh” enough so there’s no need to go nuts with the changes and revamp characters/playstyles. ? implies I’m iffy on the change.

Viper is fine how she is

Guile: meter gain buff, U2 buff, backfist does 100 instead of 90 - everything else is pretty good
Honda: s.hp not 80 damage anymore at max range. improve hitbox slightly so it trades less. give EX oichio some property to make it worth using? U1 moves faster so its a more viable fireball punish?
Rose: small hitbox/damage improvements to drills/her normals.
Ryu/Rufus/Zangief/Boxer: Revert back to super versions, gief can keep U2 buff
Dhalsim: increase damage slightly
Blanka: 3f c.lk? upball rebounds closer on block so can be punished better, safe on hit. hori-balls safe on hit. small damage buffs on up/horiballs
Claw/Gen/Fuerte/Hakan/Guy/Gouken: need some small improvements, don’t have enough exp with or against these characters to make decisions
Evil Ryu: Life increase, stun increase. U1 increased damage for charged versions
Oni: uppercut is FADCable? fireballs travel fullscreen. not sure about this character
Dictator: S.hk does the same damage at all ranges, maybe increase damage slightly?
Hawk: fierce 360 leaves him closer for a mixup? confirmable combo from the ground, he doesn’t need a lot to be solid IMO.
Juri: very small damage increase
Dudley: c.lk chainable so he can OS/combo from a low better? not sure about this character either, he doesn’t need much to be good either.
Chun Li: increase U2 damage slightly, neutral standing mk hitbox improved to strengthen her AA game
Cammy: HK drill gets both hits from a confirm, everything else is fine

I like Sagat, Akuma, Ken, Abel, Deejay, Seth, Ibuki, Sakura, Cody, Dan(should remain a troll character) , Adon, Makoto how they are. they might need small damage/stun tweaks but none of them need anything major.

Hey, I don’t want my character broken. Just don’t like the fact he keeps getting dumb nerfs.
But, yea I hope capcom ignores this thread.

I just want Cammy with the following. 2h Spiral Arrow back and 1 of the following A-improved Cannon Strike, slightly lowered up arc and less restriction on down or B-extended/normal throw range and I’d be happy. Is that too much to ask??

I just went back to training because I was unsure from reading so many people post this, but heavy kick SA still does two hits guys. HOWEVER, the damage was changed on SA. The 1st hit of it does less damage so maybe a re-buff to that is in order?

Heavy arrow only hits twice point blank majority of her combos actually shove her back far enough that only one hit comes out and does 75 damage when light arrow does 100 lol

Oh right, my mains and sub;

Yun - Yes he is too good:

  1. Ex- Lunge -1 on block
  2. Nerf the start-up on the regular command grab
  3. Less frame advantage on dive kick maybe?

Ryu:

  1. Give him he’s tatsu corner escape back
  2. Give him he’s damage on f.HP

Dudley:

  1. Short Swing Blow armor brake
  2. Make ThunderBolt actually useful
  3. better frame advantage in some moves

lol man, it’s not that simple…you hardly ever see it happen even during top 16, some of the best players in the world couldn’t do jack shit about it.

edit: also I think that it would be right to give ryu his cr.MK back. That was a really pointless nerf/

Some of the best players in the world also STILL don’t know jack shit about the Yun matchup, especially outside of Japan. These guys don’t get to play truly high level Yuns on a consistent basis, and it shows when they face someone like Daigo. And really, Yun’s non-FADC-able upkicks ARE a giant hole in his defensive game. He has to take a much bigger risk than most characters do to get out of pressure situations due to his inability to make his reversal safe on block. Add to that the fact that they are safe-jumpable, and it’s not as difficult to pressure Yun on knock-down as alot of people would have you believe.

It can hit twice from farther than point blank range in AE, but I can see the difference you’re talking about from looking at it in super. According to the frame data, it still has the same total active frames between the two hits but they are distributed differently in order to make the move unsafer.

… I wouldn’t mind her being rebuffed.

I know as Makoto he is completely free on his wakeup without meter. There’s literally nothing he can do about her chops.

Definitely make guile like he was in SSF4 or at least buff his U2 damage to 400 at least

and this is exactly why capcom should abandon their shitty way of balancing by nerfing every fucking thing. but players like graphf and the like won’t understand.

Very simple, I wouldn’t ask for anything else if this could be done. Just needs good block strings again, as his footsies aren’t top notch. Give him something to defend at close range. At least this way there is actually some game play at close range instead of one long block fest. As AE is more rush down oriented, give Sagat a little more close range defense since getting in isn’t tough anymore.

I want Dan to be powerful and have options.

Balance should be equally nerfing and buffing where needed. If you only buff then it leads to power creep and makes matches decided in a more rock paper scissors fashion. (One mistake = lose the whole match since you end up dying from 1 combo.)

Over nerfing leads to unsatisfying gameplay where players feel that they have to work far too hard for a win and while it makes consistent skill more important (as you have longer fights.) it also means that players are less punished for making mistakes and leads to sloppier gameplay.
