Official Sparky Thread - Sparky Jr USB

OMG you’re a life saver. Ive been googleing that question for who knows how long and I dont know why but i could never find the answer to it. I figured it was though.

One last question…
I read somewhere that the ArcEye2 will come with that cable harness. Will it also come with the RGB cables or will those have to be bought/custom made by the buyer?

The cable harness is the entire cable harness. That includes the 8 wire common connector, and the RGB daisy chain which I believe you will get according to the number of arcs you order. One will be longer to connect to the RGB screw terminals. I belied @purplearms is also putting together a quote which will include an eight pin harness that will be open ended for the button signal. This input harness you will have to connect manually to your pcb unless you are using a TEasy or TEasy strike.

ok cool sounds like this is gonna be a piece of cake, even for an noobie modder like me. WOOT WOOT!!!

you guys are killing me with all this greatness! been thinking about changing my project around so all this greatness can accomodate me…so now im think its gonna be something like, leo2, mcc, peewii, sparkyx2, spark plug, and shitload lot of arc2s, my secret pcb and couple other unnamed goodies  but the difference now is how everything is going to be wired up…sparkplug is really help out with that  i am rather excited!

Shin, I always love the enthusiasm in your posts when new stuff comes out. Somehow it makes me happy. lol

these things bring great joy to my life  i think its exciting being on the bleeding edge of technology, i really think it they have the potential to really change things fundamentally. i mean not too long ago people were crowding together figuring out different ways to add leds to buttons, now pretty soon there going to be a top to bottom plug and play solution taking care of mostly everything. i love the whole modding scene and watching this whole thing unfold has been much fun. and all this has been very inspiring to boot. and i type a lot when im high.:chat:

I want to make a stick with 18 buttons with arc-eye2s. i assume ill need to chain 3 sparkys together? how will that work with programming? will the lights/buttons on one sparky react to the input of the other?

lol have a similar concept in mind. but as far as i kno you cant chain 3 sparkys together, but instead have them work in tandem. assumming this is a 2P stick, have the 8 buttons from P1 on the first sparky, 8 buttons from P2 on the 2nd sparky, the remaining buttons should be the final buttons. then figure out what light pattern you want, and flash the same sketch to all 3 sparkys. things you may want to consider how exactly you are going to power all this, and it can get really complicated quickly depending on how you are interfacing with the console. usb will provide ~450mA to power 8 buttons and the sparky, but drawing that 2x from the same console may cause issues, tho i am not completely sure. you may want to consider a battery somewhere in your mod to help facilitate extra current needed. this is very important because failure to provide a decent clean power source to your pcbs might possibly damage the pcbs, the leds, or the console. be sure to have your multimeter handy and check regularly that the voltages are in the acceptable ranges. im sure other people might be able to provide better insight, but good luck with your mod!

been sitting on these for a min, but i finally found some time to upload this set today so enjoy :

You can view the full flickr set here.

Choice high resolution versions can be found in my Deviant Art Gallery here.

I do plan on revisiting this set again in the future to add complete wire harnesses

@ZeldaLeft, are all 18 buttons on one controller? Or is the 2 controller panel?
The ability to create chaining code is possible but would require additional effort.

Talk to me, what is this 18 button beast? Post some pics or sketches so I can understand.

Crystal Spark

crystal spark eh? wow very nice indeed, i hate to say it but it looks very similar to the tek case, but thas prolly a good thing, because those are very popular and to have another vendor for acrylic cases is a big plus in my book, especially since i havent gotten my case yet  i also kno you guys like to think outside the box, i am really looking forward to see what designs and features will set this apart from the other similar cases. you guys are on a roll this year!

so are you doing the designs and then sending them out to be mass produced or did you guys build a computer aided mechanical laser cutter out of sparkys and arc eyes? if you guys are looking for ideas or suggestions i may have a couple
