Official Sparky Thread - Sparky Jr USB

oh sorry, this actually is not a new case design, it’s a project. this case is from @bencao74, i was just putting it together

Hmm, I doubt this is possible but, do you think it’s possible to make sparky work with say a JLF, to have an led change color according to what microswitch is actuated? If it is possible, any plans for this? I think that’d be pretty neat in a bubbletop.

we do have future plans for this. the board has been laid out and designed, but we are waiting to see market demand.
wether we release one or not, we will definitely provide a ‘how to’ section for enabling just this. once the code is written and extended to the current sparky.

this would be an article under the Hardware Modding of the How To section

Oh nice. I’m looking forward to it.

oh that a project fatality case  that was actually first arcylic case i fell in love with, but since hes based out of the EU its out of my budget range. its looks different with nothing in it, hook that baby up

 Hey 32Teeth, looks great! so far. Can`t wait to see it assembled with sparky  hope you did not have any troubles with the screws?

i found Slotted Cheese M3 20mm for everything. Works great. I only had to dig around my basement to find countersunk ones for the joystick mounting plate. I know i did it the wrong way around but i put the mounting plate on to of the plexi and under the button panel, it’s sandwiched in there, but works great.

Is there a way to make the buttons constantly cycle through all colors?

Yes of course… just a matter of programming, and you can enjoy all the epileptic seizures you want

Like @purplearms said, yes. pretty much anything you want to create can be done.

And speaking of things getting done!

you asked for fades?
we went one step further and provided you with shifts and blends.
Here a vid of the Shift and Fades, excuse my arm in the way.

Look man, when is the PWM going on sale? I’m looking 'pon mass stock.

Is it possible to buy preprogrammed to fade?

Thats boss! now all you gotta do is fade to black (or blend back to non-button press color) on button release lol…

Instant on then fade to black might be a better scheme, considering that people won’t be holding down buttons that much, unless they’re doing focus attacks.

Edit - speaking of focus attacks, why not change the MP/MK colors with focus levels? something like start with yellow, blend to orange on level 2, then red on level 3. I believe this can be achieved by timing the hold down to time it with the focus level in the game.

We should be receiving the PCB’s by next week, put some final test time, and should be available end of month.

Preprogrammed fade will be one of the options when you purchase and define your colors.

The event broadcaster is there, i just haven’t implemented the listener to react. The fade is actually an array of boolean.

int fade[2] = {true,false}; // 0 = fade in, 1 = fade out

This is true, the configurator will allow you to set the duration as well. I slowed the duration in the video for the sake of presentation.

This is an interesting idea. Definitely worth consideration. Although AFAIK this would only impact the (Super) Street Fighter 4 crowd.

Tings

We can change button combination presses depending on what game we use as long as we program it right?
e.g. blaybloo
a b c
d
a/b one color, b/c another color, abc, abcd etc…

Also is it possible to program it to have a game mode select so you can have different layouts of glow depending on what game you play?

If that’s the case, then that makes me even more enticed to sparky than ever before~

Sorry I’m only speaking for the (Super) Street Fighter 4 crowd :).
