If you like Advance Wars check out Field Commander…

edit
I should be getting Monster Hunter Freedom 2 soon… What if my PSP has custom firmware will i still be able to play online with this?

you should, i play madden 2008 online. no umd straight from the ms.

Get Tales Of Eternia, it has an awesome 2d side-on real-time battle system, much more fun than choosing “attack” from a menu a million times. Also a decent story. COD: Roads to victory was also loads of fun. GTA vice city stories is also a good game. Really, just check out the front page.

Damn i always thought you needed the actual UMD to play online…I guess MHF2 is going straight to the trading bin…

You should put the MS in. As soon as you put the battery in, the power light should flash, and something should come up asking if you want to install the cfw. Press X or whatever and after it finishes, it should turn off. When you start it back up with the regular battery, you should have the cfw in there.

OK, so it turns out I actually have been doing everything right; I found out what my problem is…I’m running it in Vista. For some reason the program won’t format properly when I create this in Vista, so now I have to wake up early tomorrow and deal with everyine at the public library in hopes that they have a computer with windows XP.
Fuck you, Vista.

“You have chosen to ‘Fuck Vista’: Cancel or Allow?”

you need some program to play MH2 online. i can’t think of it right now though.

I got Dracula X, Gamestop here had one copy of it. Been playing Daxter though, it is a pretty fun game.

fuck off i just try to mod the battery and it got hot now it doesn’t work im pissed off. i went to best buy got another battery but it doesnt look like the 1 on this video http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZKFnuCfTPZo. am i fucked any plce i can get the orginal battery that comes with the psp slim? do they have site that sell these moded batterys?

Xlink

I was using that for my Xbox some 4 years ago.

This site sells Tool batteries http://www.modsupplier.com/catalog/datel-tool-battery-psp-pandora-battery-p-221.html

Amazon sells the Slim battery…

thanks for the link man. ya i tried to mod it myself and i had a backup battery but i failed HORD:shake:

Yeah, I heard that the battery can overheat if you’re not careful with the circuit board when your opening the battery. And there are different PSP battery models, and depending on the model, the pin you have to cut is located in different places.

There’s really no shame in buying a Tool battery (would be nice if more stores sold it though) if you don’t have a Phat available and you’re not really versed in modding electronics… sure you have to pay money for something you can do for free, but it’s safer than messing with battery cells.

OK, so I followed the easy newb installer, and it says my firmware is v3.71 and my nickname is Xi-Bit. Should it say MM3 after the 3.71? Should I install it again?

EDIT; Nevermind, I FINALLY FUCKING HAVE cfw!!!

Naw you’re good, the firmware info is supposed to say 3.71 M33… you can change the nickname if you want. Welcome to the world of PSP hackery

Now install update 4 and the 1.5 kernel add on if you’re using a Phat. I would probably refrain from upgrading to 3.80 M33 as there are some slow down issues and bad compatability with memory sticks. Unless you’re desperate to try out Sony’s features there’s no real need.

Is 3.80 M33 that bad? I’ve pretty much held off on upgrading to the latest CFW as they’re released, until I actually play a game that requires the firmware… Team M33 needs to work on their QA before releasing CFWs…

Well it’s not that bad, but it’s pointless using an inferiour (imo) CFW unless you really need to.

I can’t add kernel, because I’m using a slim.
I’m not familiar with what update 4 is, and I was curious as to what psone emulator I should use. Apparently, there is a hack for the official spone emulator sony released that will let you lay any other psx game
(I don’t think that this question pushes the rules for the forums)

I had a bad feeling about 3.80 the moment it was released. Now I’m glad I stuck with my gut.
