It’s only ad hoc.
It’s only ad hoc.
For those that have finished Jeanne D’arc, what level was you’re primary damage dealer? I’m on the final battle (I think) and I can’t output enough damage to deal with HP recovery II. I’m around level 55.
Super easy level up on them dragons.
EXP Bonus (the best one)
Cyclone
Oh hahaha. I like… don’t even stop to level up or anything. I just go to the next story point and play through. The last boss battle is the first battle that has given such ridiculous amounts of trouble.
My party average was around 65, but Jean the lancer dood was chillin at 73.
Dang, that’s whackxorz. Guess I’ll have to wait to play people at fighting game gatherings haha. I thought a friend told me in the past there’s a program to take adhoc online, but maybe not.
You mean those tower things that keep healing gilvaroth? They only heal him every two turns and you should have torn him a new asshole by turn three. @ lvl 55 I wasted him, no long tingz. Rufus with two rounds, Gilles transformed with sweep, jean + sweep, jeanne + transform + two rounds/transform skill, richard + cyclone II, and it’s GGPO.
You want grinding to beat enemies? Try 2nd and 3rd sets of colloseum. :wasted:
But yeah FFT. Good, but it seems like it takes forever to get a large number of new skills, and new jobs take forever to unlock. I know about abusing yell/tailwind, but i don’t want to cheat just to progress.
Also my Ramza gets picked on by the enemy- he always seems to fall in every story battle, but still better than being ridiculously easy (cough jeanne d’arc cough).
Jeanne seemed tough after you beat the game lol.
Yeah, each time it hits you basically get a level.
FFT’s is still the best to me simply because of the huge amount of customization.
I am very sad that you can’t fight online, that, again, would have made this game a killer app alone. I’m sad to see so many opportunities for pure fun being wasted by Sony.
I have a friend who I hang out with all the time though, so we will be conquering the game together. You need a pal to get all the onion knight and dark knight stuff anyway.
Anything I should know about Tactics?
Like leveling spots, legendary weapons, “blink-and-you-miss-it” secrets, etc?
Anything you need to know, you can find on gamefaqs.
Or just ask me.
Of course all the names for the abilities have been changed, so I’m not sure how I can help people properly. There are tons of people on these forums who have extensive FFT’s knowledge too.
My first piece of advice is to always keep two save files. One for when you are on the world map, and another for when you go do new battles. IF the game ever asks you to save, always use a second file.
The easiest way to level in FFT’s is to kill all the enemies except one.
Then pull your party into a square and attack each other for a long time. You will gain massive amounts of JP/EXP this way.
The easiest way to do this is to give everyone basic skill ( the squires skill ) and have them accumilate ( the move that lets you raise attack by 1 ) over and over and over and over and over again. If everyone has “JP up” you will get huge amounts of JP very quickly. It will also gain even faster if everyone is the same job because gained EXP is shared among the same jobs.
Don’t level up too much though, because the enemies will be the same level as your highest character in random battles. You don’t want to be on chapter one and get mauled by a single chocobo because you are still wearing starting armor. ( this has happened to me )
I don’t really feel like typing anymore, but if you ask, I will try to help.
I can help with Tactics, if you want.
I like having Ramza become a Monk. then have him equip heavy armor. Theres nothing better than punching a chocobo in the face
Sure. Important things to know without spoilers…
1: like VS said, always have two save files. Especially if there’s a time where you finish a fight and you don’t go to the map before it ask you to save again.
2: Make sure Ramza learns Yell(or whatever it’s called nowadays. It’s his Squire skill that increases his speed by +1) ASAP. You’ll need it unless you’re god tier.
3: Most important skills to get/use for progressing through the game:
Squire-JP up, Move +1(First things you should learn IMO)
Time Mage-Swiftness/Short Charge(If you’re planning to have a Summoner/Calculator), Haste(vital)
White Mage-Raise/Life(Duh, but being able to Raise people from more than one block away is real important and not to be overlooked)
Monk-Counter, Chakara, Revive(the three best skills in the game IMO. Monk class is broken.)
Geomancer-Attack Up(Great for fighters after you’re done with JP up)
Lancer-Dragon Spirit(good for mages if you’re aren’t using any better reaction abilities)
Samurai-Murasame, Kiyomori(hella awesome. Better if you have alot of money on hand)
Ninja-Two Swords(great for Knights and Samurais)
4: If you want a challenge, DON’T USE CID. Just take his weapons lol.
That’s all the important stuff besides the leveling up things that VS said, but everybody here has variations on how to build armies. Ask around.
I am all about Chemists. Chemists with guns are hardcore.
ShinKuuR didn’t mention Auto Potion, which you should get immediately. It makes the game so much easier.
I think something like 3 dancers and 2 mimes are the best combination for destroying the game. But you can’t get that until way way way way way way at the end.
Blade Grasp ( a samurai skill ) is great too. The best part about the game is that everyone plays it different. It’s fun to see how people play the game once they start posting there armies.
That is why online multiplayer was such an exciting prospect to everyone whose played through the game 300 million times.
Blade Grasp is the way to go. If you raise your Brave to 100%, you can’t get hit. You can do this by raising your Brave in each battle (by any amount). After battle, it will permanently increase by 1, up to 97%. In actual battle, just raise it again to 100%. However, only do this for Ramza because other characters might leave you if you raise it too high. Then slap on a Feather Mantle, and you’ll have 100% evasion and like 40% magic evasion.
This also works with Hamedo, but it’s not quite as good because it doesn’t counter ranged attacks, and sometimes you’ll want to keep your enemies alive.
One-shot deals:
-Blood Sword: Steal it off the boss you know who has this.
-Genji Armor set: You have to steal them from one particular boss. I think he has Masamune, too.
-Ultima: You have to have Ramza get hit by it in Chapter 4, as a Squire. The only two classes who can cast it are Assassin and Ultima Demon.
-Zodiarc: You have to have a summoner get hit by it to learn it. Only the Serpentarius boss can cast it.
Planning on picking up Tactics later this week…
Just got a slim (black) PSP and gave my old one to my little brother… also made a pandora battery and installed some custom FW on the slim… love it.
Should probably tell the guy about the various characters you can get (Cloud, etc.) since those are really the only things you can mess up. I would but I always forget the details of them lol.
Characters dont leave if your brave gets too high. Its when their brave gets too low, or when their faith gets too high that they’ll leave.
I’m at work and don’t have a lot of time to check, but is there a FFT thread at all?
The go nuts with the Brave. I usually chill on Brave with Beowulf, though, since he’s my Move-Find Item guy.
