Any launch titles people are looking forward too? Was saving up for Final Round but stuff came up, so now I have some extra money to burn and was thinking might use it to get a vita if their are any good titles. Just don’t want another PSP, where I use it more to play emulated old games than actual titles made for it : (

So yeah, that’s a lot of games I’m legitimately interested in, and it’s just the first week. Even if the system does flop, those should still make it worth it for me.
I have Marvel, Lumines, and Little Deviants. I love lumines and am addicted all over again. Marvel is real fun, but I’m horrid at using a controller so it makes it weird for me to play on the Vita. Touch screen controls are odd, but funny to use. I plan on getting Uncharted, Rayman, and Katamari tomorrow at Target if they have the b2g1 deal (and they’re in stock). though I also am tempted to get Hot Shots Golf. so tough decision.

Man, (just about) every game that the few of you listed is just a mini version of a ps3 game. Its basically the same shit that turned me off the psp. Its like paying for a system to play dumb down versions of games you probably already have or have had. Oh well, suckers gotta buy that shit so I can get it cheaper in a year or two.
That’s been the status of gaming in general for quite a while. Look at a lot of the big console releases.

Hmmmm…Im pretty sure I never purchased a watered down version of a handheld game for my ps3 or xbox or pc. Well, I did by Lumines Live on xbla. But I didnt have a psp at the time because the damn thing was too expensive and only had one game I wanted to play. hehe deja vu.
p.s. I did eventually get a psp and guess what, I got lumines for it. Yeah, im a sucker.
edit - dont get me wrong, I think the PSV is a dope piece of technology and I would like to have one. But im not willing to pay the entry fee and the lack of (imo) original games doesnt appeal to me.
Also, handhelds may be different for me. I dont really use them outside of my house. The big thing for me is being able to play it while I smoke or take a dump. So, they get about as much use as one of my consoles (maybe a bit more lately) and thats not much.

Anybody got data size comparisons from ps3 - Vita?
It’s a lot easier for me to pick up a handheld and get to gaming. Console sessions (from the logo spam, to the loading times, to just staying locked to the couch) are too huge of a time investment for me. It would be nice if consoles had some of handhelds’ conveniences, like near-instant on, suspend/sleep, and faster loading. Handhelds work for my lifestyle better than consoles, but I can understand the rehash argument if you’re a console guy.
For me it’s like, why would I not want the exact same experience in a handheld? I would not buy the same single player game that I have beaten, but puzzle, fighting, & racing games I play those repeatedly. I can see how some people can’t work it into their lifestyle, but I’ll use mine at work & while watching TV, something I can’t do with my PS3.
One thing I’m a little irritated about with my imported system is, no AR cards that the U.S. launch systems have. I’m going to have to find a bootleg way to print them out or something, so I can try it out.
How long does the target deal last?
People didn’t ignore the 3ds till the price drop because of the price. It had no games so people couldn’t justify purchasing it over the cheaper lite when it served no advantages.
As of now it’s the same for Vita. It needs software to make the hardware worthwhile or it’s just a subpar internet surfing device with a touchscreen.
There are some games that I’d just rather play on handheld. I never finished New Super Mario Bros Wii but I’ve finished the DS one and just finished getting all the coins on the normal and special levels in Super Mario 3D Land. I never really played Wipeout on PS3 but it’s actually one of the games I’m looking forward to on the Vita.
Though the Vita game I’m looking forward to the most is Gravity Rush which actually is a new Vita exclusive IP.
I can play both types on handheld, but would never play those mini type games on my PS3. I would rather have the full experience, when you play on a handheld you know you have to make some sacrifices. Vita is to where now, you have to make less and less sacrifices. That 2nd stick is the biggest addition, man I hated trying to use the face buttons to adjust the camera while you move.
Gravity Rush looks amazing, I read it was originally a PS3 game that they switched it to Vita. I doubt that I’ll wait until May on it, if that is indeed the NA release date. I will just get the Hong Kong version with English subtitles when they are restocked.
When I get off work this morning, I’m going to hit up Target when they open to see how stocked they are.
TRU is offering a great deal as well.
Spend $50 on any Vita game or accessories and receive a $20 giftcard.
Uncharted is $40 there as well.
Maybe I’ll get the 16GB card at TRU for if they got it and get the $20 GC.
Uncharted is $50 at Target, for what it’s worth.Basically the Target deal you would probably paying $90 for 3 games, if you got Uncharted. It would be best to pick up Uncharted $40 at TRU with maybe the screen protector for $12 to hit that $52 to get the $20GC. Get the 3 more games at Target for $80.
That is, if you are Ballin’ like Bastos with your Tax Refund.
If these stores are stocked, I’m doing that. Probably buy a PSN card with the $20GC.

I’ve also preferred portable gaming for this reason… it’s become much faster and more convenient than just about any console gaming experience. Thanks to the brilliance of “sleep mode”, when I go on break or lunch hour at work, I could flip the “ON” switch and IMMEDIATELY start playing Phantasy Star Portable 2… I don’t have to deal with 20 logo screens + the initial loading before getting to a title screen, then getting booted offline to download another random system+ game update if I chose to play while online, then going thru the 20 logo screens + loading again…with the portable systems, I can get to the gaming right then and there.
…then of course there is the obvious perk of the games being portable in the first place. I could play the aforementioned Phantasy Star and other things out on the patio, or while on the toilet, at a car-mechanic place while waiting on the car, in the break room at work, out there in a parking lot, etc. etc.
On a sidenote, I would never have brought something like this to my high school though, if I were of this current generation of high schoolers. Sheeeit, two words–> Memphis, Tennessee. Bring something like a PSVita to school there and it WILL be stolen from ya a day or 2 later. If certain friends and family didn’t live there, I’d never return to that city ever again in life. Well, to be somewhat fair, at least my high school wasn’t nearly as terrible as my old junior high. Hamilton Junior High, folks… a true, absolute cesspool there. Pretty much every day was an abundance of Nigga Moments™. At least my old school days opened my eyes to how despicable human nature really is, but of course that’s a rant for another topic.
Stolen shit happens at every school. iphones and ipods get stolen at a school everyday I bet. I’ve heard numerous times of it happening from my daughter at her high-school, my former high-school.
I wouldn’t want to take a portable system to school either and leave it in my locker if I had P.E. On my person, would be alright. PSPgo would be perfect for that, except these youngsters want to sag their skinny jeans and that shit would pop right out. 
I think a big part of the school theft problem are (these is just from observations from my school days, may no longer apply since kids didn’t bring guns to school in the numbers they do THESE days)
1: Idiots leaving valuable shit in their bag in class, the class goes somewhere, teacher says no need to bring your bags, only for that student to come back and find that somebody who knew they had it snuck back in and swiped that shit
2: Fools having a silly sense of “fair play”, and not being willing to use a pencil/pen/some implement not covered as a deadly weapon by the school rules (Jackie Chan that shit: IMPROVISE) when attacked by multiple people. You have the right (that’s right, the law’s on your side almost EVERYWHERE…don’t know about ultra-liberal states) to use deadly force against 2 or more opponents because they can easily beat you to death. Break some #2’s off in their asses. Niggas will back off when they realize they could die trying to take something of yours.
3: If they try to take your shit at gunpoint…well, shit. Kids these days. Chances are good you knew shit like that was going down in your school, and you really shouldn’t have flashed your shit around. The teacher isn’t the only person you have to hide your swag from.
Didn’t know about the TRU deal. I have a decision to make. Though I’m not ballin that hard a lot of my refund is going to bills lol
As for school theft. Yeah I wouldn’t have brought my portable to school until my Junior/Senior year because I didn’t have PE and didn’t have to worry about not having it nearby.

They didn’t have a lick of Vita anywhere, no signs, no nothing. They had a gang of PSP games, and that area used to be empty. Seriously between them and my Bestbuy, PSP was a no go. Thank god for Amazon the past 2 years. They had those dual packs plus Killzone:Liberation for $10 spilling all over the place.
I’ll just have to wait for Wednesday then if they ain’t putting shit out at my Target.
